Awesome. It is still on my favourite videos and probably will be for many years to come. It's not as if John Bonham played everything exactly the same each time. Don't worry about those who don't like freestyle
not completely right... its not one of those songs you can just improve to. this is a song that needs to be played like it was recorded. it just doesn't sound right. there was no cowbell, thats disappointing... thats like playing moby dick without a cowbell, it doesn't sound right. and you dont put a drum solo in a zeppelin song that never had one in it. if it was moby dick, thatd be col, but it is good times bad times, idk why you would put a solo in it, but what ever.
@eddytheyeti2 Hey Eddy...we played the entire song (with cowbell) and then at the end we spontaneously broke into a jam that then resulted in a drum solo. This video is just of the jam.... If I remember correct, this was one of the anniversaries of Bonzo's death and we were talking about him earlier in the night while setting up. He must have been on our minds and solo just happened. Caitlin started to go off so we stopped and let her go. It was a lot of fun.
ummmm...if you don't hear the hip hop in bonham's style then you're missing out. genre is irrelevant, and the best musicians always transcend that. most young zeppelin fans i know adore hip hop...but not the corporate uninspired garbage on the radio that masquerades as real hip hop, that you may be referring to. if you don't like hip hop that's alright...but it's not about choosing one over the other.
I agree it isnt like Bonham but it is damn good, i think if anything since its a tribute you shouldve combined his best riffs, like intro for rock and roll into part of the moby dick solo into whole lotta love...etc but still good job.
@supernovasky Are you kidding>>> this chick rips... How bout respect the fact that a younger generation is takin the time to even Listen/admire anything from before 1990... You rock kid...
Could you give us your own playing of the Bonzo's "Moby Dick" drum solo?I saw again recently on a french channel his performance at the London's Royal Albert Hall with Zep' in 1970... He was (and always in our hearts and minds) so incredible!
Very nice job! I love your style and the fact that your paying tribute to the greatest rock drummer that ever lived. Keep it up.
