@ILeafen Umm... thats kind of the vampire stereotype. If you've seen vampire movies you'd know. Also, In Skyrim, vampires dont lose HP PER SECOND, but their BASE HP is lowered as long as they are in sunlight.

This is an amazing guide, and has helped me quite a lot! However, I do have one question. What race/class/birthsign would be recommended for a vampire character? The only time I was a vampire was with a warrior/knight-type character, and it just ended up becoming more of an annoyance than an asset.

@drmac1231 yes, and i would actually recommend the dark elf race if you are planning on becoming a vampire because of the natural resistance to fire which negates the weakness to fire you get when you become a vampire.

@Raintalon89 For your first question, You must murder an individual and the game will state "Your actions have been observed by forces unknown", then sleep, a man will visit you, and you must do Dark Brotherhood quests up to a certain point for one of the members to offer Vampirism. 2nd I do not believe there are any special quests for vampirism, though i May be wrong. And 3rd, one can not join the Mythic Dawn Cult.

Ugh just started playing this game and managed to unkowingly get this disease. Became a vampire then got caught outside in the middle of nowhere. Then the game decides to make an auto save there. Had to go back to a save 2 hours older to when I didn't have vampirism. I don't see any benefits of having it

I used to fight A SHIT LOAD of vampires.. AND never got the vampirism disease, then i realized why i don't get the disease, I'm an Argonian. + i killed the vampire dude in the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary, no vampirism for me then

Argonians are only 75% immune to diseases, thus they can still become vampires. They are just much less likely to contract Porphyric Hemophelia.

ok so im on day 9 on game and i am still a level 1 and cant figure out why its not going up ive done quests for the fighters guild and mages guild both so its not like im walking in circles. My set up is Race: Khajiit, Birthsign: Theif, Class: Battlemage.

After 24 hours pass if you use the wait command or sleep in a bed you will advance one stage. You can repeat this process until the maximum sage four. Also if you drink blood, you will reset to stage one.

@WarArmidillo To level up in oblivion you have to icrease your major skills levels by a total of 10 points.You can check your major skills in your journal in the same part as you can see your race,birthsign,class etc.

@WarArmidillo you level up when your major skills go up, say, if you are a battlemage, your level progress goes up by a small amount when your skill in destruction goes up by 1. btw, when the level up bar is full, you need to find a bed and sleep to level up.

@meFtw1000 Talk to Raminus Polus at the Arcane University and that will start the quest to cure vampirism. Also while ur doing the quest get 5 cloves of garlic, i think that was the hardest part cuz i couldn't find any.

did you know that theres a cheat spell that lets u infect other people its considered assult so do a command on urself after a gaurd talks to you and put in payfine no space in between also tgm on urself gives u god mode theres a cheat for all spells but i cant remember it ill get it to u if i can its called the vampire reward spell it lets you infect other people and apperently animals too hope this helped

I have the GoTY edition unfortunately (for the PS3, as well). It seems the only thing you CAN do is to save the game after you kill a vampire (after you've checked to see you didn't contract the disease). It's annoying, but...unless you don't want to start the game all over or something. :/
