I remember seeing this on a qantas flight from sydney to wellington.. Awesome stuff I hoped it would be Sydney..Sydney's so great that i am now an australian citizen.. Sydney's the best city in the world.
We were on a school trip to penrith in 1990. Went to some school sports competition and when we saw a camera pointed at us we all started going mental. Never thought any more about it until 3 years later kids at school started talking about us all being in a commercial. We're at the 26sec mark, during the lyrics "Share your dreams". I'm the boy in the red and white shirt at the front. What a memory trip!!! Thanks to whoever posted it!!!
The Sydney Olympics are still the best games ever. Beijing has been a farce. Empty seats, pollution, security taking up to 50% of the seats at events, the rent a crowd falling asleep at some events. Why did China ever get the right to host a games? Sydney 2000 forever.
I did some searching on the net.. It was 1993 and performed by Ric Herbert? He may have been the one that performed it in 2000... John Gillard it could perhaps be!
Great to see this! Why Sydney 2000 ever changed their logo is beyond me. The Opera House logo was perfect. The newer one was too similar to Barcelona. Anyone have the video shown to ths OIC that shows the Opera House in the sunset and the original logo being drawn from it? That was special!
Thanks for uploading by the way i was the guy who originally captured and uploaded this clip it was recorded in the early morning hours of 1994 while i was recording the old TV series thunderbirds on NBN, i am glad to see that someone cared about it so much to download it and repost it for me thank you
erana19, thank you so much for posting this video. I have watched the shorter version as posted by GrubcoTV eleventeen times over, but it is great to see the full version of this promotional advertisement. There is something stirring about the words used in the promo and with the Beijing Olympics just around the corner, I am sure that there will be more inspirational performances by our athletes at those games
Thanks for this!
C´mon AUSTRALIA !!!

Many thanks to the person who posted this song and clip.
I was a volunteer at the games and a torchbearer in the torch relay.
It was during a period of great personal adversity in my own life.
Although I am no elite athlete; I have been able to overcome my own adversity and achieve many of my career and personal dreams.
Perhaps this embodies the Olympic spirit, - to keep going no matter what - even in the face of relentless struggle.
Long live the spirit of the 2000 games.

The song is Share the Spirit by John Gillard, with orchestral arrangement by Owen Reynolds. Unfortunately I don't have any other information.

Actually, the bid logo was incorporated into the final one used for the Sydney 2000 Olympics.

"We all share the same sun, the same dream, the same earth, the same aiiiiiiiiiiiir..."
This is so good, I reckon someone should do an updated version for the whole Olympic Movement! Anyone agree?
