I worked at a lawfirm that tried to push me off on a british financial services job that moved in the middle of my interview (yes moved to NYC) so I couldn't get the job. And then the lawyers celebrated and laughed in my face (yes literally laughed in my face) that they were forcing me to quit so they could get a white woman in there (who is 10 years older than me) but was their previous employee. How can I prove discrimination against these lawyers who harassed me for many months?
SO CORRECT LISA.... LEGISLATION IS SO NECESSARY, AND SUCH BEHAVIOUR, PARTICULARLY BY SO-CALLED BOSSES ON HELPLESS WORKERS, IF PROVEN, SHOULD BE CRIMINALISED, WITH JOB AND FREEDOM AT STAKE IN THE COURTROOM. THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BURGLARY FROM A PURSE AND BURLARY FROM A SALARY.
Workplace bullies are inadequate people who bully others to try and feel better about their pathetic little selves. Employees should have more protection from bullying at work.
I was bullied by an employee of a Job Placement for people who have disabilities, This women was mean spirited, scold me like a child, I was 29 and 30 years old. The DOLT still works there.
Jobs Unlimited is a very bad place to work with if you are looking for a Job!!!!!
don't WALK .. RUN ..AND LEAVE TELL THEM WHY YOU ARE LEAVING. AND THEN EXPOSE THEM ONLY SPEAKING THE TRUTH EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY.
Unfortunately, HR is there for management and to protect the org, not employees. I'm sure many HR professionals do care, and work to create a healthy equitable environment. But HR most often sides with a bully supervisor regardless of facts or plausibility. They listen and pretend to care, then act quickly to work w/ mgmt to squeeze out the "complainer" (usually a hard-working, loyal, but bullied target) as if this is somehow a way to avoid legal action; I still don't understand that rationale.
@ 1.28. Yes - I was starting to vomit every morning before my shift. I was work placed mobbed and bullied out my employment, here in the UK. This is very real and much worse than the 'mickey taking' type phenomena. This video is so true, sadly.
@SuperRedskinsRule i told my boss i have a disability before her hired me, he said ok. i was still able to perform my job. i was forced to quit my job. i have witnesses when he would grab me, push me and mock me. i turned the company into the eeoc.......the eeoc is investigating them. i'm not gonna let them get way with it. now i'm taking zoloft and trazodone......it's afected me mentally.
@925jdb Hi, 925jdb - I TOTALLY BELIEVE YOU. I found out in 2010, that I suffer with certain mental health conditions that can be classed as disabled, for the purposes of The EQA (2010). DAMNED RIGHT - Don't let them get away with it. The bullying in the work place, in the 21st Century is worse than ever. 20 years ago, it was just a bit of leg-pulling (at least for me). Nowadays it is SINISTER. Keep ya' chin up solider! Just talking about it helps. XXX
Going to HR will only serve to makey ou look like you are out to 'get' the poor, innocent office bully / supervisor for trying to do their job.
It WILL get turned around against you.
The Bully WILL convince their superiors that they are "just trying to do their job, and don't understand why Suzie / Billy is having so many struggles...Poor Billy or Suzie."
You WILL be seen as a trouble-maker and the bully WILL go on a full-fledged campaign to get you fired...and they will win.
@Hawaiiansky11 This is sadly true. This is EXACTLY what has happened to me. Only, where I worked, they make it look like they are 'helping' you, when in actuality, these people are SINISTER, DEVIANT individuals... and quite often, not very bright. Probably jealousy in there, methinks. Your comments are absolutely, totally correct.
@SuperRedskinsRule So true! They act like they like you and want to help then bam you hear about them talking crap about you. I have finally realized these people are real and they really do want to hurt others that they are threatened by. It really has made me upset knowing in my heart now that people are this sinister..
@goodfoodgoodpeople Hi my fellow YouTuber! Sinister.. yes, that is correct. I read a book called MOBBING by an American lady Noa Davenport Ph.D (and other authors)... it is a fantastic read. I recommend it to anybody; even those who HAVEN'T been mobbed. I think a lot of normally good people become 'dog eats dog' in the working arena. There's a lot of jealousy too. Which is very sad. There are strategies though.... (now that I know about this stuff).... :-)
@Hawaiiansky11 This is true; a bully who is clever and focused manipulates coworkers, mgrs, and HR, then bullying escalates to a full-scale "mobbing" now with full backing of the org. In the rabid excitement/camaraderie of the group-think, empower each other to destroy/oust the target. They avoid dealing in facts and never ask "WHY do we hate this employee now? WHY was this employee highly regarded/valued before, w/ a sparkling clean employment record, but suddenly dog dirt?" Mobbing's insanity!
I knew someone as smart as you would be able to help me today.
And, "The boss / corporate (someone he or she admires...usually another bully) will sure be impressed!"
But just be careful not to say it with sarcasm. You can throw up in the bathroom later, or privately journal your true thoughts and feelings on paper at home...but the ONLY way to survive while you are stuck at your current job with them without dealing with repercussion, is to bullsh** your way through it.
Approach a bully in a "Polite" way - according to the male caller.
No not politely - Kiss their Butts. Build their ego up. PLay on their narcissistic tendencies...i.e when they rag your ass, respond with "I sure do appreciate your intelligent coaching." Play the game. Be a fake (in their presence). Treat them like they are the most benevolent, kind and giving person on the planet - that is how they see themselves, and anything that threatens that "Must Be Destroyed" in their mind.

Yes, I know of a Nurse Manager who had been bullied to point of a stroke. One of the psychopaths would refer to her as stupid behind her back. Another would have one of the Nurse Manager's charges to report back to him on a regular basis in order to undermine her. Whenever the nurse manager would state what her staff needed in staff meetings, the psychopath would grimace in discuss and deny her at every turn.
What is the present situation towards legislation to implement laws to protect employees in the US? Are the any states that have adopted similar or improved legislation in regards to workplace bullying?
I reported work place bullying to HR only to have their investigation turned on myself to imply my work productivity questioned. The bully was down graded to one of 'Low level bullying and HR suggested I try to get along with the bully who apparently was willing to work things out with me before he was made redundant. Although the bully left to work place I fell like have been treated unfairly
@romeovoid100 Hi. Same thing happened to me. I was the victim and was written up for reporting harrassment. I come to work every day depressed and frustrated. I hate my job. :(
@cinderella6251 So sorry you went through that. EVERYBODY who has worked for my current supv has been put through emotionally abusive bullying.
Just last Friday, I was called into a room with a corporate HR hack and my supv's supv. All they did was defend her actions, discount my feelings (feeling afraid of her / threatened was my problem to deal with and counseling was 'strongly encouraged. I was told to get out of the "victim loop.") I am looking for work in ANY other dept.
Use your cell phone camera on the bully, that'll make them feel judged.
