Hey! I just recently applied to American, and Im nercous. Im really into watching my tv shows at night, having fun, not drinking and partying like crazy, but going out seeing movies, hangin out, and such. People are telling me i wont like american because all the kids are deeply into politics and stuff...is that true? because now im nervous about attending...but i thought it was a great school for me....help!?
i graduated from American and it is a fairly political school but there are also many students who don't give a darn about politics. My experience there was academically enriching and I wouldn't change it for anything.
i used to go to AU. if you dont like politics or arent an international studies major, STAY AWAY. the kids there are ultra nerds with no idea how to live in the prime of their lives
@bucki3245 I actually ended up going and this is sooo untrue. We all live our lives like crazy and to the fullest extent POSSIBLE
I hate politics and im not international studies, im a film and musical theatre major, both programs are top ranked and incredible, i love AU and youre very wrong
@bucki3245 Completely untrue. In fact, AU is known for its "work hard, play hard" attitude as a school. As a school, we rally around political events, speeches, and elections, but that doesn't mean we don't like sports, music, art, etc.
I think you either had no friends and/or were looked down on for not caring about school and/or doing hard drugs. There's no way you couldn't have had a good time here.
okayy so this is really random, but how did you like it in DC? I could possibly move there for grad school, but I know very little about life in DC since I do not know many people who live there..any info (besides that it is hot and humid in the summer) would be great!
