actually A/C works on the principle that boiling water will never go past 212°, allthe extra heat goes up in steam...Tetrafluromethane, or dichlorfluromethane boil roughly around 40°. In your car you have an evaporator that allows the liquid turn to gas as it does it boils and passing through the car cabin takes away all the heat above 40°. Then there is a condensor outside in the engine compartment that compresses the gas down to a liquid again releasing the heat. Thanks Bill Durant

well some mecanic told me is cause i got bad head gasket on my engine so thats why my engine shake and also my air co. goes off when the engine get warm ???

Disregard his comment, I'm not for sure if I understand your problem, but if you are low on freon your compressor will cyle on and off which you may get some cool air for a few moments and then you'll get warm air

have a question i have a 91 chevy lumina van the ac Compressor start to mess up then it was smokeing and i was like a red hot i heard that if ya unhook the power to it it well just spin free it that so till i can get it fixed cause i have no other car or way to work just wann no if i unhook it will it spin free and work ok ??let me no thanks

I've been fixing cars, air-conditioners and furnaces for nearly 24 years and the best way is read, ask and then do it. There is not a video in the world that will make a mechanic out of someone who's not inclined to do the job.

Charge the system to the amount the car takes (theres usually a sticker saying for example 2lbs 12oz of R134a) and hook up your gauges checking for the right pressure on the high side as your compressor creates the pressure and there is no real test for flow.
