This is fantastic! You integrated the genial music by Janacek and Hindemith (superbly performed by Michael Tilson Thomas and Herbert Blomstedt) in a splendid way. Thanks very much!
@OniLordMiki The piece is the 3rd movement from Janácek's Sinfonietta, heavily edited I must admit. It's a beautiful piece of music - I'm glad you enjoy it.
I was thinking of making an entire cut of Dracula with music and this gives me hints. I think most of this music is too lite though (flutes, etc). Not dark enough.
Very good, but while watching i thougt this was the attempt to make a silent movie of it, what would have worked very well. So i was a little bit surprised when Bela startet to talk.
At least the first half of the film would be a very nice silent movie! Your score fits very well. If you now delete the sound and add some old fashioned text inserts, it would be absolutely perfect!
Originally I did want to make it like a silent movie but when I got to Bela Lugosis immortal lines I just couldn't resist! I might redo it one day along the lines you suggest.
Although the original had no soundtrack, in 1998 Philip Glass was commissioned to compose an official musical score.

Bela is great!
ALSO: check out FIZZ RADIO BOOGALOO radio program here on Youtube.
Just search for: Fizz Radio Boogaloo. It has a really funny intro to every episode with cool Lugosi soundbite. Very effective.

i love phillip glass's score, but this works very well as well. i'd love to have this experience with the entire film.

I'd call this better than the Philip Glass score Universal has put into their alternative audio score on the
Dracula DVD.

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it. The real kudos, of course, must go to Janacek and Hindemith for writing this fantastic music.

I've used the following recordings:
Janacek: Sinfonietta, LSO conducted by Michael Tilson Thomas (ASIN: B00002629Y)
Hindemith: Symphonic Metamorphosis, San Fransisco SO conducted by Herbert Blomstedt (ASIN: B0000041UH) - a wonderful disc!
