Windmills are actually not good for nature(Almost halving the number of the endangered European sea eagle in Norway.), and solar power panels are extremely expensive and energy consuming to produce(Unless you use geothermal, or other non polluting source of power to produce them).
I thing burying our coal resources is a wonderful idea. Just the other day I thought what if I buried my money, it would grow into something nice. If we bury our coal it will turn into a windfarm or solar panels doesn't everyone know that? I vote Greens because they want to shut down all those nasty generators & those chimneys belching smoke, I mean water vapor, no I mean smoke. Anyway we need to shut down everything BEFORE we develop alternatives. I feel so good I vote Greens but I'm not gay.
@broadcastyamum Yes, because it's not like we have miles upon miles of hot, arid flatlands to place solar panels upon or miles and miles of uninhabited coast for tidal generators. Oh no, clean energy could never work here, where is the room?
@joope666 I was not insinuating clean power won't work. I was commenting on the impatience of people (played by Dawe) who don't realise that the technology to make it viable is still under development and a huge amount of money is being poured into it. Photovoltaics are progressing rapidly, but they are not yet ready for mass implementation. My uni has 3 new sustainable research centres under construction as we speak.... All in good time :)
@broadcastyamum People are impatient because clean energy has been held back by the oil industry, and because the government is doing next to nothing to make the switch. Despite this being a parody, there is nothing ill-informed about what he said, except maybe the fact fossil fuels are just one of the things we are doing to irreversibly fuck up the planet.
Clean energy is being held back by the oil industry??? Really??? We get our power from coal bro, not oil. The government is pouring a lot of money into clean energy research. Still not enough, but they are certainly not doing nothing as you have suggested. Research is a slow process, so if you really want to make an immediate difference, I suggest getting of youtube - unless your PC is solar powered.
@broadcastyamum Yep you're an idiot. The oil industry has held back clean energy for years by buying patents and burying them, and petroleum is burned for electricity. 'The fossil fuel industry' would have been a more appropriate term you are only splitting hairs. I didn't suggest they were doing nothing, just next to, which they are. Excluding oneself from using energy created from fossil fuels is also a retarded notion, since once burnt the damage is done and their use would continue anyways.
@joope666 Do a bit of research dude. AUSTRALIAN "fossil fuel" INDUSTRY: black coal 54.5% --- brown coal 21.1% --- gas 15.0% --- hydro 6.4% --- oil 1.8% --- other 1.2%.
You are getting confused between car companies and power companies. The electric car patents would be welcomed by the power companies. As a result we would need to burn more coal.
There is no need for name calling. But if need be you're a:
tin-foil, irrational, misinformed, uneducated shitdickcuntfaggot. Now go away and learn.
@broadcastyamum Petroleum is burned for energy, you said it wasn't, don't tell me to do research when your facts are WRONG. The car industry is synonymous with the fossil fuel industry since they refuse to adapt and are dependent on fossil fuels. As far as i know though, the oil/FF industry has ALSO deliberately held back clean energy, one example being the massive windgenerator that was designed to fail and represent a monument of 'dead' clean energy.
"well a hell of a lot more then you can get Brian, frankly, from having a lot of kittes waving flowers in a very attractive environment."

I like this one because Dawe takes on the role of the ill-informed.
