I have a eVGA 8600GT SSC 256MB and a Pentium 4 541 Prescott 3.2 ghz w/ HT @ 4 ghz and 4 gigs of RAM.

I was able to play Crysis and Crysis Warhead and pretty much every other game, but I had to replace my dead 8600GT until I could buy a 500W+ power supply and a kickass card like a GTX 260 or get a Core 2 processor.

Wow it looks like you can actually drift in the PC version. When I played it on console the car steering and handling was really weird. You couldnt drift at all, and you would have to slow way down before you made even the easiest turns.

yeah, i think you have the right specs, if you want to go to high specs, get a video card in the 9000 series in NVIDIA with 1 gb or ddr3 onboard memory

lol. for starting. i have not 24fps. i have nearby 30 while playing. those results are wrong. i was using fraps. and frames get lower. so. i have a very nice frame rate to play smooth. 60 fps are playable. but playing with low graphics or medium is the same in my computer. why? i don't know. the only thing that realy takes my fps down is view and detail distance.

I can explain to you why this phenomenon occurs.

It's called bottlenecking. When one component in your system cannot keep up with the others, it limits their speed too. For example, if your CPU can only execute 30 frames a second worth of game code, and your GPU can render up to 300 potentially, how is it going to exceed the speed of the CPU if it's waiting for the instructions from it. The CPU prepares all the frames for the GPU to render, my 8600GT is only at 40% usage usually for most games.

using Riva Tunner. you can download it easily. i've already tried with the memory on 1900 and there where only artifacts in l4d. i don't know why. but in gta4, crysis, and all those eavy graphic games the artifacts just doesn't came up.

you dont have less than 22 fps ingame?????? only a very short time????, in my sistem if i go very fast with the car in the second city y sometimes see 21 20 fps but quickly goes to 25+, do you know why????

you should change your resolution and change the textures to high it will run and look much better

actually i have a little bit more fps than those that i've written over there. so i think it's not sadist what i'm doing and by the way, i don't notice too much diference in the textures for that memory use. but it's allright because i can play like that very well i shall say. what graphics card do you have. and how do you play at how many fps?

i have an 8600gt 2.2ghz xps laptop and i get around 25-35 on 800x900 resolution all settings maxed you should try it and let me know how it goes

sorry. i aint like those resolutions. for my monitor size i prefer to not play everything maxed out and have the resolution sized at the it. and, as you can see, i can play very well for a computer as mine is.
