ok i think it's awesome you did and do this but honestly i don't think you have any idea what you're talking about when it comes to how they got water. That site is probably 13 thousand years old, with a completely different climate.
War certainly played a role in the city's demise, but evidence is still lacking. Dr Hansen's team found obsidian blades from Mexico at El Mirador, suggesting that the two cities were engaged in conflict. We will have to wait for more archaeological evidence before we know how war played a role.
man i just saw the video.. i'm from guatemala and i like things like this video and the history of the old mayas thanks for share your visit to el mirador
Hello Jimmyren123, thanks for watching and for your nice comment. Prices can be as low as $200 USD for a 5-day trip or $500 USD for a longer trip. It depends on how many people travel with you and the quality of the guide and the food. There are many guides in Flores.
great stuff man,do u think they'll ever uncover "El mirador" n do u know anything about those 3 colosal size stone mask's that were found in either in "cival" or "nakbe" a couple of yr's ago not the one's Belliny found but da one's near a ball court dat r thought 2 be 400-600bc. I love stuff like this n were else or under wat heading have u posted more stuff about mayan ruin's especially in guatemala's peten region?
Thanks. To fully uncover the site will take many years, especially without roads to move equipment and people. Some argue that building a road would lead to more jungle destruction. For now, the way to get into the site is by hiking, on mules, or via the occassional helicopter. Thanks again for watching.
Most of the sites I have visited in the Mundo Maya are pretty well documented (even on youtube), but there is little about El Mirador, so we made that video just as our small contribution to our fellow youtube Mayabuffs. Thanks.
Great video man very interesting I give u props for hiking in that jungle like a pro. Thanks for posting. Greetings from Los Angeles. CA

Why do you not believe the people of El Mirador disappeared so quickly. I believe it was due to a massive war.

We heard about a large mask that was found a distance from the main temples at Nakbe, but the guards said it was not open to the public yet.
