Man I feel really sorry for Observe and Report. I saw it and it was a really funny movie that i really enjoyed. It deserved to do better than it did D:
STATE OF PLAY was on the giant screen at the theater (seats 590) where I work, and it was PACKED. Mostly packed with seniors, which was quite a sight. Also quite a sight, the flooding and water damage from the blizzard. That's right, a mid-April binge of one-third of the state's annual precipitation came down in just 3 days. Then the sun came out. Welcome to Denver.
wow,. you really nailed those movies to the wall, that was great! its like you got two fists, one says 'love' , and the other one says 'hate'...this wasnt the 'love' week!
Another fantastic production! I will subscribe now
Crank 2 is actually much more explicit in other scenes than the shotgun scene, which is suprisingly mild by comparison to some of the rest. It's all very tongue in cheak though, as you would expect, which kind of removes the need to throw up. You'll just giggle instead!
Anyway, applause and I look forward to your next vid :-)
Zac choose this movie to get away from Disney and the musical. Another reason why he turned down Footloose. Alot of the reviews liked him in the movie, just hated the script. Not his fault. From now on he just has to make some good script choices. A good drama or ensemble movie, more adult roles. Johnny Quest is a risky project, could be good if done right (script, cast, director) or wind up another Speed Racer
All of my friends went to go see 17 Again (yes, all of them being 13 year old guys, which is a little disturbing) and they really enjoyed it. I originally thought this film was PG, but once I heard it was PG-13, I was a little upset I didn't see it.
I'm feeling bad for Monsters V.S. Aliens AND Observe and Report. I thought Monsters was better then any other Dreamworks movie and Observe looks HILARIOUS! Poor Rogen.
SPOILER: The shotgun "rape" wasn't as bad as you might think. Statham had a shotgun, someone was shooting a revolver at him and when they ran out of bullets Statham walks over and gets the guy on the ground, lubes the shotgun with oil and shoves it in the backdoor. This was to get the guy to give him a name of who has his heart. When he got the name he told the poor villian with the shotgun in him that he could keep that.
The audience i was with and myself found it hilarious.
I saw 17 Again as well, & sorry, I did find it a bit annoying that this movie was just a giant DONT HAVE SEX KIDS..OR YOU'LL DIE Ad & Zac because he's a big star was going to be the spokes men
But in another light, I found this to be enjoyable and very cute in other places. But I also have my thoughts on the ending.. but I'll keep that to myself.
Anyone who didn't see Crank 2 really missed out. I have to say it was better than the first. You know how the people on the internet can complain about "rape" scenes. That was a huge issue for Observe and Report.
Observe and Report's budget was 18 million, so it can be no longer called a flop. I liked it and box office performance isn't going to effect my enjoyment.
Hi bramb600! While Observe and Report only cost $18 million to make, that doesn't count its advertising and prints budget, which is probably about the same amount. Also, the studio only gets about half of a movie's box office gross while the other half goes to the movie theaters. So I'm afraid that Observe and Report's box office performance would be considered a disappointment by the industry.
However, I agree that shouldn't lessen your enjoyment of the movie! :)
Movie theaters make their money from both concessions AND a share of ticket sales. Studios want you to go to the movies when it opens because when a movie first hits theaters, the percentage share is in their favor. But the longer a movie plays, the bigger the theater's percentage becomes. In the end, it equals about a 50/50 split.
I don't know why I always forget about the promotion. Well, I hope it will have good DVD sales because people are predicting it could be a cult hit. There's no denying it's a disappointment.

Grace, which movie do you think will be #1 at the box office this weekend?
I don't think that Fighting will be in the Top 3, but who knows. I want Obsessed to be #1. The Soloist might have a chance of being #1 though.
LuluPrincess97 2 years ago
I think Obsessed has a good shot at being #1, but overall it's going to be a very weak frame...

i do have a question about 'the industry'... what is more important to the trade people.. initial weekend numbers... or long term profitability?
phdecora 2 years ago 2
Excellent question. I think both have their merits, but the best is for a movie to "own" its weekend, aka come in at number 1.

Hmm, to be honest, I didn't really pay attention for this one. I don't like/ am not interested in any of the movies in the list.
I think you should have a segment for like, fan trailers. Everyone makes them, and you should show the good ones. :) Or something like that.
