  • I just ordered one of these. I'm so pumped on this tone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i hope they ship soon

  • it kind of looks like he has it sitting on a greenscreen

  • Timeline: Heavenly playing not included.

  • @gnrcr THIS!

  • So the moral of the story is that the Timeline is not only master of delays, it eliminates the 'need' for a Neunaber WET pedal as well!

  • That was great, super playing and a fantastic ambient sound - well done and thanks for posting.

  • Lovely

  • I keep coming back to this video!!! What a beautiful sound man!!! Your playing really compliments it too. Match made in heaven dude!!! I must get one of these timeline's!!!

  • WOW!! ID BE STUCK TOO LOL

  • Move over Pat Metheny...there's something Leaner!

  • Mutematt, awesome playing and awesome demo! What is your tuning on your guitar? Alternate tuning, by any chance? Like many others have stated, you have caused me to get on the waiting list for this one. I have the blueSky and love it. So thank you, I think...

  • Very nice playing - and what a beautiful sound!

How easy is it to pull up sounds? For example, if I wanted use patch A 30 quickly followed by patch B 10 is that possible? Cheers

  • @theheretic100

It's not difficult to do, but not possible to do it quickly. To make that far of a jump, you'll have to hit the bank down buttons twenty times in a row, then hit patch B.

I ended up only using about 5 banks right next to each other.

  • did you use any other pedals, volume pedals? its insanely good :) but too expensive

  • @watwillwedonext

No other pedals, just the guitar, TimeLine and amps.

  • Don't pay any attention to the haters. I love that you found a sound that inspired you and flew with it. I enjoyed it. Also a Strymon fan. I have the blueSky. Eventide who??

  • Screw getting the pedal, where can i get playing like that?!?

  • really beatiful sound, im interest to get one of these. Can i ask u? From the factory does it come alrealdy with some settings saved on the banks or you have to figured out by yourself? Thanks in advance for any reply.

  • @andretoyo It comes loaded with 100 presets. :) (bank one to 50, A and B delay. 51 to 100 are repeats)

  • @Y00p Thanx Man for your reply, i got my TL thist week and i´m learning everything, i was thinking that was 200 differents presets, and iwas concerned to erase one of them when i go to my own presets but like u said the others 100 are just repeat so now i can try my own with no worries. Cheers!

  • Really nice demo man, your guitar playing is awesome. Must say i agree with Stockholm17's comments,it is very much in the style of Vini Reilly check out the track 'Messidor' by The Durrutti Column. Do you know if the Timeline is available in the UK? That said keep up the good work!! :)

  • @spicecrop

    Thanks for the input.

  • @spicecrop Interesting. This was actually the video that made me decide I had to have one. All you were going to do with it was wank anyway.

  • I'm getting this thing. Thank you.

  • yes!!!

  • you've caused me and my cousin to get on the waitlist. Amazing sounds and playing brother.

  • Matt, excellent playing. Your style very much reminds me of the guitarist Vini Reilly, who founded the Factory Records band, The Durutti Column. Where can I hear more of your music?

  • @stockholm17

Thanks man. Right now this youtube channel is the only place to hear my music. More uploads coming soon.

  • do you think you could get a similar sound to this from the el capistan?

  • @thisishowidream

I had an el Capistan and I can say for certain: Definitely Not!

  • @mutematt plus, doesnt this literally have the el capistan and their other delay in it?

  • @mutematt but can you get the sounds from the el cap with the timeline?

  • Every once in a while I'll fall asleep to this..I call it "strymon timin"...I know I'm lame

  • This is not just a pedal demo (with an incredible sound).. It's the listening of a great grat playing..... GREAT!!!

  • I cried.

  • Peaceful...

  • great vid... The timeline seems perfect for this kind of spacey ambient stuff.

  • Your playing is so worshipful. I love listening to these.

  • @FINDYHARMON

    Thanks friend.

  • @FINDYHARMON what makes music sound worshipful?

  • @dmarkj22 I guess it's more about how it makes someone feel. It's probably different for everyone.

  • I'm going to get mine soon!

  • you sold this to me too, strymon should really pay you back

  • @Carosello1978

    Sounds good to me!

  • wow-really like this

  • Oh my God, it's an amazing sound! Simply amazing.

  • Wondering if teh Voodoo pedal power plus 2 will power this properly? Would you happen to know? I see it requires up to 300ma

  • Just ordered mine :) how long did it take for yours to get delivered?

  • @bvideon

I was in the first batch, so about 5 days. Sorry, that probably doesn't help much!

  • wow....i'm blown away. i never heard anything like this before in a delay pedal! beautiful!

  • Just simply beautiful. I'm so glad I just preordered one! Fuuuu it's gonna take so long though. D:

  • dude I love your playing, man, seriously. what is it that inspires you this much?

  • @SmallFish616

Thanks man. My faith, my wife, my baby girl ... stuff like that. And I really enjoy playing with this pedal.

  • this pedal sounds absolutely beautiful, not to mention your playing! One question I wanted to ask though as I'm looking to replace my DL4 eventually with either this or the Empress Vintage delay, and it's can you get a ring mod type sound from it (really short delays with lots of repeats with the repeat mix high)? I can give you a video example of what I mean if you like?

  • @pipflu yes you should be able to. the sharc processors inside strymon pedals are more than able to deliver on that end.

  • I just got mine, and it blow everything I have ever worked with away ....way away!!

I have had over 20 various delays, and this thing replaces everything I have ever owned!! even my Eventide!!!!

    Rock On!!!!

  • You, sir, have probably done more to sell this pedal than anything or anyone else! Excellent demos and playing, Strymon should be paying you! (I get mine on Saturday :-)

  • @TheRedbaronification

Thanks man. I'm just super excited about this pedal and like showing off what it can do. I think it's a breakthrough for a lot of reasons and helps me be more creative. What more could you ask for from a pedal?

  • Very nice playing my friend, I can't wait to get mine, but in Italy perhaps I'll have to wait 'till October. I've ordered mine because it steers in a new direction, but to me, the delay perfection is, hands down, my lovely Empress SuperDelay Vintage Modified.

It's truly an awesome pedal, that sound hugely nice even with classic and acoustic guitars.for the analog party I've chosen Diamond Pedals, the Memory Lane Jr, that is analog only in the signal path and decays naturally with lo-fi mod

  • I am in total awe. I can't stop smiling.

  • Fab guitar playing...great track, congrats. Do you have an album/website?

  • @mutematt Woooow, is awesome..... the song is beautiful, please share a tab for this song.... thanks a lot

  • Fantastic setting. Been loving mine but haven't explored the patterns too much. Possibly the best delay pedal ever.

  • Wow....stunning sounds and playing. Please post your latest setting!

  • @Dugahu

Thanks for the compliment! It means a lot. I've been really busy lately with other things, but I hope to have another video up soon.

    Thanks for watching.

  • @joelyd19

English is important too. Haha. Thanks for watching!

  • Comment removed

  • reminds me of the music in the first neverending story for some reason... love the sound. mine's still in the mail. can't wait to play it!

  • @johnnyjcool

I'm going to have to go rent that movie. Haven't seen it since I was a child. When you get yours, be sure to load up this patch.

    Thanks for watching!

  • holy sh... best sounding delay i've ever heard...

  • @kwyt

For the digital stuff, hands down, it's the best. I still prefer my Deluxe Memory Man over the dBucket for analog delay.

  • Tap delays in series can be awesome to create reverb-like patterns.

Very nice clip. I'm not getting a TimeLine, I still own the original one and am fine with plugins like Soundtoys EchoBoy, my Axe-Fx ULTRA and the analog and tape delays I still own, however, I will always be interested in seeing videos of this pedal.

  • @DemoColorScheme

Thanks man. It sounds like you have got your delay basses covered.

  • ahhhhhh

  • Etherel man - this is where I wanna be. One thing I'm not clear on - I've read the user's manual and checked the website - but don't understand if there are presets, like this BANK 12 you've been on for some time, already programmed into the machine or is there just space for 200 of ones you put together.

  • @dannyjl3

The TimeLine comes pre-loaded with presets from Strymon. They put together 100 preset sounds for you to try. After bank 49 these presets repeat again. So out of the box bank 0 and bank 50 are the same and so on.

You can replace the contents of any patch with ones you create. I've been going through and putting my own presets in banks 0-49, hoping to preserve the defaults in 50-99.

    Thanks for watching.

  • how did you get/make the image setting on that preset? ... sounds great, btw. mine's arriving in 2 days, can't wait to try this patch out!

  • @rhoydotp

Thanks! I'm sure you're going to love it.

To get the preset image, I took an image from the user manual and edited it in Photoshop.

  • And on the last day God said "Let there be Strymon TimeLine." And it was good. REALLY FUCKING GOOD. :)

  • What did you use to record this? Great job, sounds amazing!

  • @stubacca416

    Thanks. I love this pedal!

The guitar is an 80's Japanese Strat. One amp is a 70's Fender Champ mic'd with a Sennheiser MD 421. The other is a tweed emulation built into Logic. The audio interface I used was a MOTU 828.

  • Mine will be here tomorrow. This is the sound I have been looking for from reverb pedals and this sounds better than any of them I have heard.

  • This sounds fantastic. Absolutely beautiful. I love it. Great job.

  • Sounds really nice.
