I wish someone would wipe out 75% of the deer population. There are to many car accidents with those damn deer. They have moved into towns now. One town I know of has two hundred of damn things every winter feeding on spilled grain by the grain elevators. They get to be almost like pets.
Way to go!!! 3-1/2 ft tube would be all one would really need. " I hate hauling corn out into the woods myself. "Sooner be hunt'in!! than feed'en that's for sure."
Curious? Can you tell us viewers the overall length of 16" plastic tile pipe you chose to use in this video? As seen in this video how much grain will this size and height of 16" pipe hold please? (lbs) Reason being : I'm intending to duplicate your idea. But I personally wouldn't want my tile feeder to hold more than 100 lbs. of grain or be taller in height than necessary. Thanks for posting a Great Idea & Video!!
@SureShotMcGee..At 3.5 ft you can roughly get 200lbs of shelled corn in it. the reason i used sucha big tube is this, save trips in and out pushing wild game out from the area, save gas with the quad to return to fill so often, and lastly late season my deer heard will wipe out the feed in little under a weeks time. so with all that it pays off to use the bigger tube. Each to there own on this build..this just works best for me.
i put wood legs on it so the bunk bottom would not be setting in mud, water, and snow.....its wood it aint gonna last forever, i know that. and the whole project is made from scraps so i aint out nut'n if it needs replaced.but thanks for pointing out the obvious boss.
the bottom is actually made of 2 pieces of 2x10.....it aint gonna break! the only plywood on the feeder is in the bottom of the tube and thats simply just to screw the tube to..
Yeah that'd work. Just food for thought, you might want to elevate the feeder by using 3/4 inche piping to keep the racoons out.
