  • did you use tonymacx86? In the database it says it is unknown, but can you still use it, ?

  • @TheJob1997 TonyMac and everyone elses databases are only a small portion of what works, if you know how to work on your own, without any instructional help.

  • i got the same motherboard as you but when i want to boot from the disk the pc restarts, did you had that also?

  • Hackintosh faggot.

    Buy a real machine.

  • @KreativeKingo How about no, you bell-end.

  • lol you have overclocked

  • @aniketroxx YOU LIE! A COMPLETE LIE. IT'S A STOCK CLOCK CPU @ 4.1 GHZ YOU MORON! LMAO

  • @miked826 lol look at intel site this processor is 2.8 Ghz

  • @miked826 4.1Ghz is not stock clock on I7 860 -.-! I got i7 860 no overlcock and its on 2.80ghz .. You have overclocked or use another cpu.

  • @daniboat12 YOU ARE AN IDIOT. I JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO SAY. LMAO

  • Do you have speedstep working? Thanks.

  • Sounds like the same song my pet cat Harry made last week by accident.

  • Mac user = Noob

  • @EduardoMaia Fanboy = noob

  • does everything worked out of the box? like sound, lan, graphic card (with graphicscardenabler=yes)...

because im not sure which motherboard to take for my new pc that also should work as an hackintosh using a retail snow. leo dvd

    my choices are the

    GigaByte GA-P55A-UD4 and the

    MSI P55-GD65 that u used

  • This is real cool! May I ask anyone in Singapore knows how to do this? I would like one setup but dunno how to. So I am willing to pay a fee for the effort.

  • Hi miked826

I am wanting to build mine one

does de HT works there? I mean, snow leopard recognizes the 8 threads?

    Sorry my bad english

  • Hey does sleep work on your P55 FTW? what about the networking?

  • Hey Mike, super sick build. ive got the P55-GD80 which is pretty much the same board. I just need a little info on how to enter my info in the DSDT and get it running 100% any help would be great! I had to install with iboot on an older core2duo board as it woudlnt fully install on my P55. using the 10.6.3 retail. also using the 5870 ATI graphics. great job though! I really envy your stable build. Hope I can get mine like yours

  • what software program do you use for recording this?

  • Hey, i am curious what bios settings did you use to 4.1ghz.. vcore imc, etc

  • Why does the computer info screen say Xeon when it's an i7 supposedly? :S

  • @beattherapydotcom because..... lol

  • Hello!

I am doing a similar build right now MCI P55 and i7 860. I'm having some trouble with getting the bios set right. Any help or direct me to a site? I'm not seeing all the options in the MCI Bios as with Gigabyte Bios settings. Thanks!

  • Did you need to add anyother fixes or Kexts for that board? I have the same one so i am planing to try it out.

  • Other than the usual kexts, I added no other fixes or kexts.

  • Did you need to add anyother fixes or Kexts for that board? I have the same one so i am planing to try it out.

  • What install method did you use to complete this install? I sure would love a install guide for this install. hint hint!!!!

  • Boot-132 Method

  • HElp. As I read your post, I went to buy the same components. P55-GD65, corsair ddr3 4gb(x2), gts 250 1Mb.. Intel core i7.

I flash bios to 1.7. But I cannot began Instalation?? I installed Iaktos V.7 on my old laptop PackarBell..

    I'm a Dummie.. help..

    I Used " tonymacx86-P55BootCD.iso", and I downloaded Mac OS X Snow Leopard.iso and burned on DL DVD+r.

TonyMac Starts, but DVD snowL, loading errors. ?¿?

I´ve no chance to use a mac to do nothing (snow original).

    Thanks from Barcelona.

  • lol the p55 chipset lets your pc be recognized as a imac :P

  • could a hackintosh work with my evga p55 ftw

  • Good question. I don't see why not. Just search google for a guide for that board.

  • That computer is a beast. The benefit of building a hackintosh are as follows:

    1. Cheaper than a Mac for similar performance.

    2. Can be gaming powerhouses if you need them to be.

    3. Ridiculous configurations with multiple solid states in RAID 0.

    4. You learn a lot about the insides of Mac OSX as a result of trying to tweak it.

Sure you don't get the shiny screen, but you will get a computer that will get your work done quickly, play your games maxed out easily and save you money.

  • @Mirrors997 I'd say the downfalls are lack of customer support because of that, and also, hardware compatibility issues. Just trying to use software update can be a pain or even ruin your install I've heard. Otherwise, I'd try this out. But I don't want to mess it up, or have the wrong hardware and waste all that money. I'd rather just have a reliable system that will work with Mac OS X guaranteed. I do think the Hackintosh is a great way to save money if you know what you're doing though.

  • asus p7p55d pro works

in fact i typed this on my hackintosh

  • What is everthing you did to get your hackintosh to work because on my computer when i put in the bootloader disk it loads then 5 seconds later it restarts my computer. What downloads and what bootloader did you use. Also what did you use to burn the bootloader to a dvd.

    Please help thank you.

  • Miked, ive just been reading. i agree at some points with nerds like you(no ofense)but sometimes youre just annoying, i started building for myself a couple of hckntshs a few years ago (kalyway and all that crap, and later like you're doing)and one day i told myself. hey OSX is the best OS made for what im doing(music)and NEVER EVER had a problem with it on other stuff. So, ill go and pay for a MAC Just because they really deserve it. I dont think is stupid to buy a mac is just showing respect

  • A real Mac is slower in RAM and CPU speed, costs way more, holds less hard drives...........but it is silver. There's nothing "stupid" about that. Apple thanks you for your loyalty......uh and your money (not necessarily in that order). LOL

  • Will it hackintosh with a intel core i5 processor 750 and MSI P55-GD55.

    Pleas Reply.

    Great video.Thank you

  • No not yet. Only these MSI boards work so far

    MSI P55-CD53

    MSI P55-GD45

    MSI P55-GD65

    MSI P55-GD80

  • Hello friend, how fex pra hackintosh install this? I have a Asus P755D PRO and when I boot from the DVD it restarts, which version you use? Got any tips?

  • do hackintoshs still get the apple boot sound or is that only on a genuine mac

  • No sounds are heard at all but the money you save over a real Mac will get you a 30" monitor. Will that do? LMAO

  • Congratulations for your Hack Pro and your info about it. I need a ultracompatible base components for my Hack Pro with Snow Leopard. What is the better choose? Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 + i7 920 or MSI P55-GD65 + i7 860 (new iMac 2009 with i7). I need it for graphic design (Adobe CS4) and a few for video edit (Final Cut Pro). Thanks in advance!

  • Out of those two only the Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 will accept the 6 core i9 Gulftown when it comes out in a few months. Choose that one instead of the i7 860 MSI even though I think the MSI is a better board.

  • Hey, nice hackintosh man!

I have one myself too (Snow Leopard 10.6.2, I recently upgraded from 10.6.0 without any problems :O).

Is yours fully retail and if so, do you have any trouble while updating?

  • hey how do u do it ?

u just put mac osx cd and instal it ? ?

  • I wish Apple made it that easy but they don't so you need to do a whole lot of online reading, then understand what it is youre reading, and then just do it. I had never used OS X before I built my hackintosh so I was completely in the dark.

  • It is 100% retail (no extra files on the OSX partition whatsoever). It updates from the Software Update tab flawlessly. Thank you Apple. LOL

  • the reason he cant run his i7 in his real mac at 3.8Ghz is thermal issues due to being in the back of the monitor, you on the other hand have a full case and dont have those issues

  • @Daniel7637 Well you are half right. The other half is you can't overclock ANY Mac made or else it will quickly become unstable. No Apple ever made has been able to be safely overclocked not to mention the fact that they have no BIOS to overclock with. There also is no mhz overhead in their stock RAM to allow overclocking even if it had a BIOS to go into.

  • @CriticShrute And you wonder why most of peopels bash MAC's...Its because peopels like you..You give me the resons to trash talk MAC OS...I mean common "Apple FTW"?For what...for being able to watch pictures and movies with a proc. oc'ed at 4.1GHz?!

MAC computers are made for retards and the features of a MAC OS are equal to those of a DVD player...

Anyone could tell me how can iMAC justify its high price?

What can you do on a mac to worth buying it?

  • I agree completely. I don't buy them. What you are looking at in my video is a PC running OS X!!! That's my whole point. My PC cost no more than yours does and runs ANY OS installed on it.

  • Dude, it's Ok to hate on Mac's... They are for people who can afford them. It's like Buying Bose speakers, overpriced but still sound amazing, Look the best, and are a minimalist design. I own both Macs and PCs, PCs are fun to upgrade and play games on, but the 27in. iMAC takes the prize when comparing design and overall usability. Cost's more than my main PC, but you get quality for what you pay for... certainly better than any other "all in one" PCs out there...

  • Whether or not someone you can afford anything is not the point. The point is why in the hell would you spend MORE on something that offers LESS (performance wise). That is what you call ASS BACKWARDS. Why not just light your cigarettes with $20 bills? LMAO

Quality? You can only get quality by buying a Mac? You've obviously been drinking too much of that Apple Kool-Aid. :-)

  • But Macs are not "less" in all aspects. Macs run Mac OSX, it's 10 times better than windows 7 and even runs windows 7 more fluently than PCs if you use bootcamp. If you buy a 27" imac you get a 2560 x 1440 res, no Pc monitor will even come close to that. I agree that buying a Mac Pro isn't the best use of money but everything else is well worth the money you pay. I say why buy a calvin klein suit if you can afford Versace. Whether are not you can afford it is EXACTLY the point.

  • Your iMac has a pretty screen to make you forget the crap that's behind that screen. My PC's cost more than any crap iMac on Apple's site. I can afford my PC that cost more than your iMac? Your point is what? LMAO

  • Your iMac's i7 ( which is the EXACT same i7 in my PC) is capable of running at least at 3.8 GHz 24/7 stable. Why not run it at that speed then. Oh I forgot.....because you have a Mac....YOU CAN"T. My mistake. LMAO

HP, LG and Samsung all make 2560x1600 monitors. So you are only fooling yourself with your iMac's 2560x1440 resolution monitor.

  • When did I say you couldn't get quality elsewhere?

Dude your burning 20's comparison is terrible. Why buy a Porsche when you can buy a nissan 350z? The 350z is half the price, goes just as fast, gets better Mpg.... People choose to buy a porsche because it is of better quality, It is a LUXURY item. Buying a Mac isn't throwing away money, it's just not for everyone.

  • You are an idiot if you buy a computer that can not be upgraded, added on to, so on an so on. You are blinded by the pretty package. What's underneath is inferior to what can configure in a PC. That's not MAC hatin'. It's just a statistical truth. It's OK for you to be upset. I would be to. LOL

  • Dude, pump your brakes. First of all, LG's 2560 x 1600 monitor is 30in. of course it has a higher resolution. Plus its $1500 dollars, thats more than a high end i7 build. So i'd say I'm not fooling myself with the Imac's resolution considering a comparable monitor for a pc costs more than the computer itself. I'd say anyone would be a fool to buy that monitor lol. I also own a core i7 pc so i can do the whole upgrade thing as well(try to pay attention b4 you try to insult me.)

  • Maybe you should read what you type first before I pump my brakes..... "no Pc monitor will even come close to that". You are hopelessly stuck at your iMacs core i7 stock speed. I am not .Those are the cold hard facts. I will BURY your iMac in benchmark tests. Those are cold hard facts too. No need to get upset about it. LOL

  • Even if your sarcasm was up to par(god I hate idioms), it wouldn't work on youtube because you're writing and not talking. Instead it just sounds like you can't decipher the difference between a MONITOR and a Computer. It's kind of like bluffing in a game of Five Card Draw, it just doesn't work in favor of the bluffer. congratulations, I'm interested again. What else do you have? Just be sure to make it corky and Original though. For bonus points try to make it relevant to the initial argument..

  • How about I race you in the 1/4 mile with your 2.8 GHz i7 Porsche 911 Turbo and I'll be in my 4.1 GHz i7 Nitrous Oxide, Garrett Turbo, VW Bug? I'll even give you a head start. I wonder who will finish first? Oh the suspense is killing me. LOL

  • Totally agree with you there man. The only thing I think is good about OS X and all that is for laptops and if you're into picture editing and/or video editing. A normal person who maybe play games and surf the web does not need a Mac plus Mac doesn't have many games so you would have to have a BootCamp.

  • Hey Miked,

I have the same motherboard and processor as you and everytime I have attempted to setup a hackintosh it has ended in failure. I was wondering how\what BIOS settings you changed and what guide you followed? Any help would be appreciated :)

  • @kowspot2000 Search "p55 msi" at the insanelymac website for links to the info you need.

  • Hey Miked,

I have the same Motherboard and Processor as you. I was wondering, what guide did you follow to get this working and how/what BIOS settings did you follow?

I've been working on getting this setup for a week now but all of my attempts have ended in failure. Any help would be appreciated :)

  • @kowspot2000 Search "p55 msi" at the insanelymac website for links to the info you need.

  • Actually, I will laugh at the fact that your obsessed with hardware and that this is what you have to show for your life! "LMAO"

I really hope you know that no one thinks you are masterful when it comes to computers, all this shows is that you are rich as fuck and have too much time on your hands. Most likely a trust fund child...

I'm not usually spiteful, but you seem like a pompous ass! You're like that kid in high-school nobody liked because he bragged about his Porsche.

  • Hackintosh FTW!!! Yay me!! :-) 19,000+ Coming to Youtube..... Winter 2010.

  • Apple FTW!!!

    PC users using Apple OS???

Most PC users bitch about apple, yet you embrace it.

This intrigues me, tell me more.

    /

  • Nice. does this works with the updates to? Thinking of putting together the same machine.

  • @andreaskingdmnd It works with any update including OS updates from the "Software Update" tab.

  • oh haha cool... =D how did you get the audio to work?

  • I cheated. I'm using a usb sound adapter. It's sounds better than onboard audio and you just plug it in and it works.

  • Oh.... hahaha......

  • @miked826 can you please tell me how to get OS X on my PC?

It's a project so I want to put it on my low spec machine. its an inspiron 5305. I want to do this to help me decide if I want to shell out the money for an iMac.

  • I only do custom made Hackintoshes because I can choose parts that I know will work. I have no idea if that model will even work.

  • @miked826 Oh ok. well can you give me a budget build. any help would be appreciated.

  • This is a budget build, depending on your budget

    of course. lol

  • @miked826

lol. well my budget is around $500 to $600.

  • Mac Mini starts at $599. Just plug it in. No experience needed. :)

  • @miked826

lol. I would buy a mini but I want something that I could build on. Plus a mini seems like trash to me. Do you have any experience with the mini?

  • It is trash but it's cheap trash which is the best trash or all. LOL If choose an Gigabyte P45 775 mobo you might be able to build one that cheap.

  • @miked826

I'll look into it. in the meantime, do you mind giving me a spec sheet of a setup you know would work?
