As an American civilian- it is understandable to see war as the wrong answer and unnecessary but if war it must be, then so be it. These honorable men and woman know exactly what it is they are signing up for and what can possibly happen in the event of war. It's not an insult. When my fellow Marines died in Iraq, we called them fallen angels. That was the code word. It doesn't mean they've fallen from grace or something mean, it just means they have fallen down in battle and are dead.

Sorry I didnt see "fallen" as an insult. It seemed to me that these men and women stood tall at a time when they were and are making such sacrifices for us. I guess its just the interpretation of the word. All through modern wartime our servicemen and women are described as the fallen with respect. I just dont think the word fallen describes just how great their sacrifice was and is. But I will go on respecting them as we all should.
