  • BREAK, IT SHOW US,... BREAK THAT PIECE OF SHIT!!!

  • I would like to ask a question.

Is the arching of the fret board always supposed to be concave to compensate for the vibration of the string? When do I adjust my truss rod?

Please I need some tips ..

  • Thanks for the info...

  • very clear. thanks.

  • good input much thanks for the video

  • Great informative video! Thx.

  • I understand the idea of neck relief, how ever, your explanation would only works if you always pluck the string in the same place and you only played open strings. If how ever you wanted to play fretted notes or get a brighter sound by playing closer to the bridge then the physics would seem to change as well. The only way to set up the guitar right is to adjust it for its player . Paying attention to how hard the attack on the string, and where on the neck the player plays.

  • y is ur sound hole so wide? does it sound different?

  • do you mean 6th or 5th fret because you point to the 5th at least twice. are you counting the zero fret? confusing! its zero because not all guitars have one.

  • I appreciate you sharing this. It is great info. I hope that the people that don't know they don't know enough won't come back on you. You should put a sign up behind you skate at your own risk. Not responsible for broken necks. something. Again, thank you Sir! You are a scholar and a gentleman.

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH,,FINALY I UNDERSTAND THE NECK RELEAVE AND ACTION.. I M RICHIE FROM BUENOS AIRES ARGENTINA

  • I am looking to buy a Gypsy Jazz Guitar but i am curous, Which style is louder in projection? The D hole, or the Petite Bouche? or does it really matter more based on the attack or anything else?

  • Hi Jamie, i have a question, what tool should i use to measeure 0.01", its so small that normal rulers don't have it, it is like 0.25 mm, but how can i measure it.

    Thanks.

  • Just go to Stuart MacDonald's website and purchase their action set-up gage. It is $18.95 and you can buy it in decimal or metric system. Great tool.

    Jamie

  • @macdige or automotive feeler guages- cheaper.

  • @GassyCoke a .010 string is just that. Not trying to be a wise guy. Strings are accurately gauged. Go to advance auto and get a set of feeler guages for 8 bucks. I drive a 73 toyota truck and have to set my distributor points at .018. There is a .010 and a.015 in there.

  • great explanation. i like this guy's videos.

  • Is the 12th fret always the rule or the fret where the guitar neck joins the body. I have a Les Paul style body. Also do you use a feeler gauge on all the strings on the 6th fret or just the big E?

  • Most modern guitars connect to the body at the `14th fret. Old style guitars and classical guitars connect at the 12th fret.

  • Amazing that a lot of players are not aware of relief. I will post a video responce of a bad truss adjustment with a lot of back bow.
