Very interesting. You see he says that a person that does not have God is going to yearn for sin, actually even people who apparently where saved, also yearn for it. I am living proof as well as others that have tried the lifestyle, and have been able to call themselves a Christian before. So JF was wrong, no doubt, and it proves that the bible is ridiculous. The bondage of 'Sin' is NOT broken JF. I have a hard time living a lifestyle that makes me feel unfulfilled.

@SmilingSkeptic (about his denomination) I think you are right, he certainly adds in his own swing to some of the stuff he is saying...I've found that with a lot of Christians. Some of them create their own rationalizations for things, trying to have it appeal to the "new age" lol. Back when I was Christian even, one atheist called me a New Age Christian because I sort of followed my own path of Christianity. I'll be sure to ask JF in the next Stickcam lol.

@fruitikay Yes, and those rationalizations help assuage the cognitive dissonance that occurs when something doesn't add up the way a rational person knows it should. It's what silences that nagging voice of reason. After a while, the rationalization becomes a framework by itself. I've been there.

I contend that the Inquisition and the Holocaust would not have occurred but for the existence of the Gospel of John and the antisemitism created by it and the very cornerstone myth of Christianity - the execution of Jesus.

He did address the problem of suffering, he said God would have to remove all forms of suffering, and his argument does sort of make a point. For example having to listen to JF777's speak, and see his face causes me suffering, should God remove JF? In other words God could only remove all forms of suffering by making us incapable of suffering, which would make the world like Facebook where you can only "like" things. We'd all be Stepford wives. :p

The problem of suffering as it relates to god is more of an exercise in considering god's nature - his omnipotence and his benevolence. he can't be both omnipotent and benevolent with suffering in the world, but yet JF claims his god is both omnipotent and benevolent.
