So if god is all knowing...wouldn't he know that the whole Garden of Eden thing was going to screw up? Therefore wouldn't he be able to prevent it happen, or is it like some sort of Time Lord non-intervention policy? Just wondering as that seems to be the biggest flaw in the whole all know god idea.
Really though you would have gotten a more concise answer if you asked him what God needed with a spaceship.
I've had a few conversations with this guy in the past, he's such an idiot. Unfortunately he reminds me so much of some of my old friends and a little of myself back from my own Christian days.
According to Christian doctrine there was a time when there was no evil so to need a notion of 'evil' to understand 'good' makes no sense even according to Christianity
Just found your channel, and that was a very entertaining video. The contrast between his rambling nonsense and you intellectual and humorous responses was brilliant. You sir are awesome and I look forward to watching your other videos you are a true gift for atheists.
Also, I only masturbate to cool jazz, it gets me in the mood. Except when I'm really feeling crazy, then I put on some Stryper :)
@ReyvenChild Yes, I've mentioned this to xians I discuss religion with - well, not specifically this, but the fact Christianity, and particularly Catholicism, borrowed heavily from the pagans in order to better assimilate them - and I get a lot of reactions of disbelief. Xians are so ignorant to their own history.
@ReyvenChild lol thanks. To his credit, JF has gotten angry with me, but he hasn't blocked me... yet. JF's a nice soft target. Sadly, I've started about half a dozen videos responding to his nonsense lately that I've had to shelve because of all the "other stuff" I've been dealing with.
Very interesting. You see he says that a person that does not have God is going to yearn for sin, actually even people who apparently where saved, also yearn for it. I am living proof as well as others that have tried the lifestyle, and have been able to call themselves a Christian before. So JF was wrong, no doubt, and it proves that the bible is ridiculous. The bondage of 'Sin' is NOT broken JF. I have a hard time living a lifestyle that makes me feel unfulfilled.
Smilingskeptic - splendid video. J'freek can't see past the end of his own nose but that doesn't stop him spouting rubbish - your stylish rebuttal is perfectly pitched.
Lol. How dare JF dismiss his god's talking serpents! Then again, he does have a penchant for chosing the miracles or deeds that seem okay to him. He's corrupting his gods words! Lol ;)
j-freeks comments that he knows no homaphubic christians does not follow as i am an atheist and know christians who are and admit it
but what i want to know is why j-freek does his posts in his car (like other christians on youtube) this to me shows he is ether a utter dick recording while driving or his family do not want him to post his BS
@ItsTheSuperFly Great point. That idea flashed in my mind but writing a script like this back to JF is like those guys you see with all the plates spinning on sticks... you're bound to miss one or two lol ...or at least, I am.
@robertmike57 I would say he probabyl comes from one of those two groups, but he seems to be adding a flavour of new-agey gooeyness in there too. He seems to be quite muddled. That doesn't help his thinking or his answers any.
@SmilingSkeptic (about his denomination) I think you are right, he certainly adds in his own swing to some of the stuff he is saying...I've found that with a lot of Christians. Some of them create their own rationalizations for things, trying to have it appeal to the "new age" lol. Back when I was Christian even, one atheist called me a New Age Christian because I sort of followed my own path of Christianity. I'll be sure to ask JF in the next Stickcam lol.
@fruitikay Yes, and those rationalizations help assuage the cognitive dissonance that occurs when something doesn't add up the way a rational person knows it should. It's what silences that nagging voice of reason. After a while, the rationalization becomes a framework by itself. I've been there.
@fruitikay JF is in a town (he puts that on his FB page) with the USA largest Fundamental Baptist church, yet he complains about not finding a girl to date. Fundy Baptist Church women seem rather sleazy and easy, if the stories about Jack Hyles son are true. So I don't think he is a member of the First Baptist Church.
I honestly cant find it within myself to feel sorry for athiest who go to hell. They know what awaits them yet they stubbornly bring themselves there. Its like a repeat offender expecting someone to feel sorry for them being punished with the consequences that they persistently and stubbornly pursued. lol
@SmilingSkeptic My point was athiest pursue hell. While there are good answers for Christian beliefs, atheist dont want them and bring themselves to hell through there own stubborness and this is clear by your video, throughout.
@ahmalala The same quality (lack of quality) of answers/evidence for christian beliefs can be found in many religions. You hold all the evidence for all the other theological claims to pretty much the same standards that atheists also apply to your particular religion's.
LOL, people like istening to heavy metal and masturbating! That is why they don't want to believe in God! I always thought so. Such a silly man this JF.
Regarding prophecy: god gives men prophecy to help prove that he is the one, true god, then allows satan to fuck it all up. No. Fuck god if that's the kind of shit he pulls. No fucking way a loving, all-knowing, omnipotent god would let that happen. More reason to reject the notion of god AND the notion of Judeo-Christian prophecy.
Ah Skeptic, that was horrible. Like watching someone clubbing a baby seal. A very wordy, idiotic, dogma-spewing baby seal, but still. I guess it was necessary, though, so thanks for rolling up your mental sleeves and getting your mental arms all bloody.
I contend that the Inquisition and the Holocaust would not have occurred but for the existence of the Gospel of John and the antisemitism created by it and the very cornerstone myth of Christianity - the execution of Jesus.
These are very real atrocities that are inexorably locked up with Christian dogma and belief and there is no way around that. To claim it was just humans using religion being used by evil humans is a cop out.
All very good, but I would like to point out (not wishing to defend JF too much!) that the Bible claiming bats are birds is actually a mistranslation, the original hebrew word just meant flying thing or winged thing, birds was just the English word they chose for the King James.
He did address the problem of suffering, he said God would have to remove all forms of suffering, and his argument does sort of make a point. For example having to listen to JF777's speak, and see his face causes me suffering, should God remove JF? In other words God could only remove all forms of suffering by making us incapable of suffering, which would make the world like Facebook where you can only "like" things. We'd all be Stepford wives. :p
@TheNakedAtheist No, he didn't address it. He gave it a very light glancing blow. The problem of suffering as it relates to god is more of an exercise in considering god's nature - his omnipotence and his benevolence. he can't be both omnipotent and benevolent with suffering in the world, but yet JF claims his god is both omnipotent and benevolent.
I was already masturbating to the sound of heavy metal when he mentioned it.... is that a sign from God, you think?
Dude, that was 25 min of pure enjoyment! ;-)
