  • In medieval Japan the bow strength were measured in *how many men it took to string them* - and I can easily string my 50 lbs kyudo bow myself - so an 150+ lbs bow would be historically correct. Not a <5 lbs draw like this joke ;)

    ---------------------------------------

That said, Ninjas (as in "black clad super villains") were invented in the last century. Them existing in historical times is just a MYTH (like Vikings having horned helmets or that Marco Polo travelled outside Europe...).

  • its because basic bow is being used here which has a low velocity for the arrow. Try using the professional recurve or compound bow with a 40lbs tension string....can he still catch the arrow?....hhhmmmnnn.....

  • @ekimzj Considering that the compound bow was developed centuries after ninjas, that wouldn't be very historically accurate. hm...

  • 2:04, What do they mean by dodging? The arrow missed him by like 2 feet!

  • just learn to make a coffee and he became green hornet

  • Hope he wore a cup for the arrow catching demonstrations.

  • Hyneman cheated on Power Punch test !!!! U can actually saw him blowing the candle off !!!

  • i think he take allot of lecitine ...

  • jamie needed the UNAGI

  • Bruce lee would've done alot better

  • i saw a program on quest where a guy cut a bb in half that was fired at him, first time he hit it second time he cut it in half. The bb was fired 50 yards away he took his sword out of the sleeve and cut it in half not just a matter of good positioning

  • at 1:20 you can see he Blows the candle out!!!

  • he didnt do the 1 inch punch right, his hand is only suppose to move ONE INCH thats why its callded the one inch punch

  • Anyone can catch the arrow, you require a few things though. The stupidity to decide you're going to go through with it and the luck to not get killed by your friend on your first attempt, worked for me anyway. I could never do it three times in a row, so I'm not getting any records The candle is harder in my opinion. You're trying to break the flame from fuel and oxygen by pushing oxygen at it.

  • @psychedashell obviously, you're supposed to use non-lethal arrows if u want to try lol. If u actually did it with a real arrow, you're crazy but gj ^^

  • @KonaitouQ2 The only way to make an arrow non lethal is to fire it slowly, if it hits your head a blunt or padded arrow can still kill you, I caught target arrows, the head is pointy, but not a blade like a hunting arrow. It was a dare after watching guiness world records.

  • this idiot THINKS hes a ninja ..... grow up

  • @NAUIdragster001 some of this stuff was pretty impressive. I am 100 percent sure you can't do any of it.

  • ok, consider this.. these days, most martial arts practitioners also have to hold down day jobs and their lives mostly don't depend on getting it exactly right.. so just showing that it CAN be done is enough that you can infer someone could have done it even better if they trained 8 to 12 hours a day for ten, twenty, thirty years..

  • @sparkeones Uhm... not actually, its called Ninjutsu...

  • uhm. Im pretty sure anybody above Dead. could see that Jamie blew the candle out

  • 1:44 lol falcon punch xD

  • cool......

  • That arrow he caught was dead slow, it barely made it all the way. The bow was only partially wound up.

  • @jedrinck safety first you can't expect them to fire an arrow at someone as fast as they possibly can. there are harder ways to kill people you know.

  • 1:24 looks like he blew it out XDDD

  • @j00suckip00n

    he tried.

  • @j00suckip00n he did

  • I flagged for Child abuse, LOL, I'm so naughty

  • Jamie Blew the candles LOL

  • Dude looks a lot like Austin stevens.

  • LMAO@Hit by 70mph arrow.

  • Holy shit! Crazy ninja antics there!

  • At that candle thing I was like OH SHIT!

  • It's all pretty much a misnomer. Sort of "proof of training" things that martial artists do to show off skills. Not that this makes him ANY less of an athlete. Being able to catch or hit an arrow mid-flight is an amazing skill for anyone to perform.

  • it's amazing what your body can do with some discipline and proper training

  • I am being taught Hung Kuen Kung Fu under anthony kelly :)!

  • only true asians can be ninjas. not a wanna-be....lol jk.

  • you can see in jamies punch he blew them out lol!!!

  • @ieatcheesewithglass he blew on them

  • @ieatcheesewithglass he blew on them

  • yeah i know, thats what i meant in the message. if you look at his face its pretty clear.

  • He gotta build up his adrenaline first. Then hes brain is speeded up and get better reflexes.

  • 'hes brain is speeded up'? Rofl.

Perhaps you should build up your adrenaline before typing...

  • word!

  • @darkultra It doesn't even necessarily require the adrenaline. Through repetitive training you can improve your reflex speed quite a bit.

  • Just Kung Fu Skills

    ;D

  • did anyone else see Hyneman snnek a blow after he punched ?

  • yup

  • nooooo really?

  • LOL 1:21 he blows the candle

  • holy shit! a real ninja!

  • he's not a real ninja

  • anthiny kelly teaches at my school in armidale!!!!

  • that isnt 170 mph omg their is another video where a guy shoot with his compound bow and his friend have to catch him and that was 100 mph

this bow cant shot at 170 mph sure

  • @rainmechanic you do not seem to have very good reading comprehension skills...

  • i know anthony kelly he's my friend he teaches at my school

  • that dude is not a ninja. he's just a very well trained and dedicated person.

  • Lol, let him dream. Gosh. He's 40-50-60 years old... if he says he's a ninja GODDAMN he's a Ninja XD Lol

  • how did he did it to get the middle one?

  • my guess is it has a little something to do with the angle of the punch.. -shrugs-

  • ninjas are awesome :D
