Bandit 1200 vs Fazer 1000

Haha, even the first Fazer 1000 had a lot better frame then the Bandit. Try following a fazer 1000 on a twisty road and you know what I mean. The All Mighty Fazer rides circles around the bandit and even R1's will have problems keeping up, because of the crampie position of the rider. There's no chip in the Bandit. Its just fawlty engeneering. Hahahahahahahahahahaha, Bandit, hahaha

Well.

1.The power difference is not very high.

2.Bandit is 5-speed, so bandit is accelerating while fazer rider is shifting gear.

3.Engine of bandit 1200 is big bored but detuned gsxr 1100w engine. With small modifications its easy to get more power.

How do you go about getting more power?

1.Replace the stock pipe with better pipe( akrapovic).

2.Better airfilter, getting good mixtures for carbs can be difficult with this.

3.Rejet the carbs.

4.Replace stock camshafts with gsxr 1100 (old air/oil cooled model) or gsxr 750 (old air/oil model) engine camshafts, You probably loose small amount of midrange torque.

5.Lower the cylinder head with 1mm or consider bore the engine to 1216cc.

After lowering cylinder head, it can be necessary to change ignition timing.

I did only 1.2.3.

The reasons for why I did only 1.2.3. Because I mostly ride on the street and I mostly dont use the full power that the engine offers

But I know few guys who have done all of those and even more, after all of those mods bandit1200 turns to race bike.

Also, with no fairing, its hell at 140, the wind is tryin to pull you off the dam thing, I've done it and its not pleasant, yet did180 on my R1 and it was smooth, which raises the question again, why would you waste your time and money?!?!

Because in my opinion bandit 1200 is a very good bike, i have the s-model (half faired). I personally dont like to always change the whole bike especially if tuning is so easy to do. Supersport bikes dont fit for me at all, especially on long distance ride, gives me painfull back. Bandit engine doesnt have problem to last 300hp, the only weak thing is clutch. I have done 178kmh and i'm happy and it's still stable. I do love 2001 s-model what it also looks like, a real bike.

so true my friend, only diference from gsxr is carbs on bandit are mikuni32 and gsxr mikuni 40 and the fase on crancshaft is 7degree retarded so bandit wont pick up more power on 8-10,000rpm......mods done i get on back weel 157hp.....mmmmmmm

Actually the stock camshafts do suck. Here in finland many of bandit 1200 owners have replaced the stock camshafts with gsxr(oil cooled) ones, they also did show good dynographs. I agree, bigger carbs also do help, mikuni rs carbs are recommended ones.

I also have one private video of my bandit, but I only show just little bit of it. that video doesnt go public. I only show my video for people I really can trust/ like (like some of the motorcycle vloggers).

funny that at the very end.... it said thanks to yammi and suzuki for not breaking down, it is more likely the riders to suffer a breakdown of some sort as the bikes now are getting so much more powerful and competent. PS: fazer beats bandit easy!
