  • Hey Australia is hot as fuck man!! do you provide them with cold drinking water? Leos have thick fur coats so theyre suitable in cold climate.

  • I have a Pyr. Would I like a Leo? Beautiful dogs. Love the large breeds

  • Leonbergers plus water equals HAPPINESS!

It also equals lots of towels and usually the hairdryer in my house LOL!

  • Nice video. They seem like really friendly and playful dogs. But what is the music? I really like it, and I'd appreciate knowing the name of the piece. Thanks!

  • leonbergers are gentle giants, i like the breed very much. i myself have a dog which is a mix between newfoundland dog, bernese mountain dog and landseer, he is also a gentle giant, very sweet dog

  • when you take them to the beach or when you go to the beach yourself, do you have to take any precautionary measures? I hear that Australia has some very nasty creatures swimming around in its waters?

  • Australia is not that bad... as long as you don't go too deep and watch out for the white pointer sharks.. lol

The Dogs tend to only play in the surf.. I would be worried if they swam out too far..

I live in NSW and we don't have the Box Jelly fish or the Crocodiles that they have further up North in Queensland.

The Beach is far Safer than the bush where you have to worry about the Snakes and Ticks. :(

  • Yeah I hear ya, your Leonbergers are beautiful btw, I always imagined the locals would know all about where to go and not to go when it came to living down there, specially considering all the hype the American media gives the Australian wildlife, thinking about the funnuelweb, the box jelly, and even the platypus, I´d just imagine you guys would be on a 24/7 poison control, I lived in Chile for a while and we have the black widow and the corner spider here, and we where always weary of them...

  • Wow Australia almost as beautiful as home here in Bermuda

  • aw! they are soooo cute! they are certainly my top choice of dog! do they mind the warm Aussie weather though? i thought they were bred for the cooler climates. they are so gorgeous.

  • Leos don't get the really thick coats here in Australia that they get when living in the ice and snow. I never walk mine in the heat of Summer only early morning or late night when cooler.

Day time summer walks usaly include swimming ;))

Keeping the coats well groomed helps to keep them cool as well

  • Piekne psiaki :)

  • I like leos. I don't have the space for one, and it would not be fair to keep one in our small, landlocked yard.

  • We had one and his best friend was our cat. LOL

  • Why not? Dogs and cats can of course the best friends! As long as they grow up together!

  • This was a great video. Leos love the water. To have one who doesn't is very unusual! My Leo regards even a muddy puddle as bona fide water and will roll in it if he can.

  • I had a leonberger too and he HATED water :D. He wanted to go back home when it rained faster than I did :D.

  • @Leosrme

def bcz they have newfoundland in them

  • lol they do all things together

  • They are gorgeous. I never realised the Leonberger tail curled quite so much. We're looking at a Leo for our next dog to go with akita & eurasier, so translation problems between curly tail & straight tail dog was on the list of questions.

  • Their tails should not curl over at the end as these do. The Breed standard says they can be curved but they shouldn't curl like an Akita. My leo's tail is very long and curved but not curled.

  • same EXACT personality as mine!

lol they are always so happy and playful!

they love people and kids and other

mammals, and they're great waterdogs. timid

    sometimes, but still so sweet!

  • I've got one myself, we're going to breed with her. I once had three, the other two became 10 and 9 years old. I LOVE leonbergers!

  • aww what wonderful dogs i noticed what ever 1 did the other did lol

  • AW! They are so beautifull! My Leo looks just like them.only problem is, she afraid of water!;]

  • Omg, its so typical leonberger lying down in the water and getting all dirt on them! haha! but its worth it anyway!

  • excellent video!

    I bow to your skills.

  • Hello,

Loved the clip :-). I own Sharlo (green girl)from Furrychild, she is the biggest sook. She has the best personality and loves the beach,we are down there daily, she loves to swim. I am trying to convince my husband for a playmate for her (besides the kids)Keep posting videos.

  • HI so good to here from you and I'm really pleased that Sharlo is doing so well. She was a really lovely puppy!!

I would love to see some photos of her.. :) You could send them Via Megan to me via the Web site :))

    Thanks

    Beth

  • wow, they're BEAUTIFUL! My family and I are planning on getting a 12 week old one from Missouri this Spring!!! (i can hardly wait!)

  • They are very nice! Our Leonberger is 8 years old and we'll never give him away!!

  • I have an 8 month old male Leonberger. All he wants to do is play. I love the breed! Water, no matter how much is a play thing. He likes to pick up his water bowl and dump it or put his paws in it.

  • My friend owns 2 of the Leonbergers in the clip and they really ARE fun loving sooky dogs!

  • What gorgeous big fun loving dogs they seem to be!

Looks like their world is just one big party!

I love the bits where they're "catching waves!!!"

Thank you for posting them. ;-)
