Wow this us terrible. They negate him quite a few times. The number one rule of improv is don't negate. The "Yes and..." Rule. Jason was good, and when his co stars broke this rule he was quick, but he shouldn't have had to be. Not very professional. Poor improv.
Here's an interesting connection. Jason Alexander is impersonating William Shatner here, and Alexander appears alongside Shatner in the music videos for "celebrity" and "Online" both by Brad Paisley
In the US version they did it with generic b-list actors only a small number of which have had improv experience. Jason Alexander was one of the ones who did so his was okay.
@MagdaRose85, check out "Thank God You're Here : Department of Labor and Education" and tell me if she is the blonde in it. If she is I have it recorded somewhere and will convert and upload it for you.
Common man`s reasons why god does not exist A) total absence from from natural events, No sig of a god before, during or after natural events. B)The total absence of favoritism towards believers. Even church steeples need lightning rods for protection against god.C) The absence of any reaction, when crimes are committed in his name. D) The suffering of the innocent. One could accept suffering of the guilty, but little children
This is more like Mad Libs than anything else. They set the guest up for improvised punchlines, but the story and the lines of the other actors seem pretty set in stone.
The Aussie version is tops. This version is zonks better than the UK one, but it's really the fact that it sticks more closely to the original rather than any other distinguishing merit. Jason Alexander would be great though! :D
It's exactly the same. Same format, same music, same exaggerated reactions from the judge and audience. It's only the random celebrities that provide any difference.
@ryorioirorytttrr: Yeah thats true but American humour is very different to English/Australian humour, so the celebrities cater for that. In Oz a comedian like David Letterman just isnt considered funny by anyone so I guess its just a matter of what humour best suits your demographic.
@lowellriggsiam ok, you must be an american as well because Australian humour always has more character and the people on it are less self absorbed and with the Australian version, it's more witty and they don't copy every show they do, this episode was almost exactly the same as the australian version, down to the set and the script.
let's see: kevin nealon and ana gasteyer from saturday night live
wayne knight from seinfeld, bryan cranston from malcom in the middle and mad tv, shannon elizabeth from american pie, fred willard, kurtwood smith from 70s show, tom green, nicole sullivan from king of queens, fran drescher, brian poehnson from just shoot me were all on the american version
Man I miss this show....
