Was it left hand drive or right hand drive? Left hand drive would mean it was likely a Shelby (which is actually an AC, but tuned and rebadged). Right hand drive was how the car originally came as the AC. The AC never gets the credit in North America. Shelby never built a car from scratch, all he did was put his name on them and tuned them.
Wrong, when Shelby got through with the cars only the big pieces of sheet metal were from the original car, he didn't just "tune" the cars, he totally re-engineered them.
It's a moot point anyways, it was a kit/reproduction.
Honestly, I am not sure because I don't live there. Your best bet is probably google or asking around at garages and dealerships.
Also, because of safety advancements, today's cars are much safer in a crash than cars from 20 years ago, which in turn are safer than even older cars like a Cobra. Does it mean you should be afraid to drive it? IMO, no. I'm a firm believer that the driver matters much more than the car but you should have these facts so you can make your own judgment call.

Driver error happened. The driver put too much power to the wheels causing them to spin. The driver then began turning to the right, probably to change lanes. The slight deviation kicked the rear end slightly out to the left. The driver, either not noticing this or noticing and panicking, responded incorrectly by letting off the throttle and perhaps depressing the clutch. The rear tires decelerated and regained traction, weight shifted, understeer, curb. Lots of factors, 1 bad driver

The Cobra suspension is dated and it won't handle as well as say, a Lotus even though they have similar weights. Still, it is very nimble. The best thing to do with a car like that is get some professional instruction with it or at least take it to an empty parking lot or air strip and learn its limits in a controlled, safe environment. Like all other sports cars, it can easily kill the an overconfident, inexperienced fool but that doesn't make it inherently unsafe.

The Cobra suspension is dated and it won't handle as well as say, a Lotus even though they have similar weights. Still, it is very nimble. The best thing to do with a car like that is get some professional instruction with it or at least take it to an empty parking lot or air strip and learn its limits in a controlled, safe environment. Like all other sports cars, it can easily kill the an overconfident, inexperienced fool but that doesn't make it inherently unsafe.

@dzheng7 actually the AC cobra dominated road racing back in the 60s against the Ferrari and etc. That does not mean they were easy to drive, the 427 was a butt fkn handful in such a light car. To make the existing problem even worse, modern day beer belly heroes are trying to add even more power than the already super sketchy 427 to the replica chassis. 462bhp 800tq and 2,300lb from the factory is a hell of a power to weight ratio assuming that is what you meant by "pound per pound"
