@MuleMan14 you know why your name is mule man? because mules are fucking useless to society. They cannot create life, they just have life and sit around taking up resources for us that we need to live...............kinda like you. Public enemy and dillinger should slap you with their dicks.
@N0hN4me there's lots of ways to make money. i dont think chuck d is sitting in his probably large house thinking "i need more money so i'll go do a song with DEP for cash"
@N0hN4me except the fact that this tempo is way faster than the original, chuck sounds way different, and he also yells "DILLINGER" at the end of the song. actually listen to the original instead of just assuming
@StaulkHolm I couldn't agree more, some of the bands chosen didn't really fit the bill. But the idea for the soundtrack was great; taking songs that were made in the midst of war and oppression, and giving them a hardcore twist, for a game that matches the mood perfectly.
@rockingrugger Obviously, You have never heard of the James Cagney movie from the late 30's or early 40's titled Public Enemy. One of the best endings to all the gangster flicks....
this is good. dillinger can cover pretty much anything. the other bands are really good, but whoever chose some of their songs were probably snorting crack with Charlie Sheen. i love Veil of maya, but them covering a U2 song? Who thought that would be a good idea?
@StaulkHolm I personally don't like Veil of Maya at all and I don't think they can cover any type of song, but I agree that DEP can figure out a way to cover anything..
Tbh, I think Dillinger are just on a whole other level from so many other bands. For example, VoM is just Marc Okubo, whereas although you could argue that Dillinger is just Ben Weinman, I have so much respect for every drummer they've ever had - they all bring their own touch - and then Greg Puciato always does such a good job of vocals.
I think also, they're experienced at doing covers and they do them very tastefully, trying not to diverge too far from the original song.
@StaulkHolm yeah i agree. bands like iwrestledabearonce can fit into anything because of their broad range of music but bands that fall under one genre cant always pull it off
@StaulkHolm hahaha I know what youre saying man,.I'd like to meet the guy or gail that put this together.I feel like I could do a better job matching bands.

The opening kinda sounds like Rage against the machine and Korn's music mixed.

ahahah Man wtf, I remember listening to this on Fear of a Black Planet back in the day, so weird to hear it by Dillinger. It's sick though. :)

This cover proves that the elitist attitude towards other genres doesn't come from the artists.
TheCynicLives 2 months ago
@TheCynicLives Of course not, any real musician listens to many genres, or AT LEAST never disrespects other genres. Anyone that does sucks nuts.
JayFFAFAlesanaES 2 months ago
who could take a rap song, make it metal, and keep it AMAZING!?!? who could convince chuck D to come on this track and keep it AMAZING!?!? Dillinger.

@theheightsboy100 Well, it IS a cover, maybe they just sampled from the original release rather than getting him to completely cooperate.

The fact this band has gotten Chuck D to be in this cover.. that's ace. Kudos to DEP
abSOULuteD 6 months ago 2
@abSOULuteD that's probably sampled from the original song. It's still ace though. A Public Enemy / DEP collaboration would be beyond sick.
uncoolbeans 4 months ago
@uncoolbeans i think he heard dep were covering this and re recorded his vocals. read it in an interview somewhere

@uncoolbeans it's not a sample, Chuck D re-recorded his lyrics for this song
