i still get emotional when i think back at that day. when i saw clarence hold up that cup in tears. he was my neighbour and when we where kinds we played football on leeuwardenplein in almere. from his chilhood on he did everything to become a pro. thats why i hate people who say bad things about him.
on the night he hold up that cup,i just stared at the tv saying nothing just with tears in my eyes,i was so happy that i have experienced te same as my parents did in the 70's
After the seasons '95 and '96 the football as we once knew it, was over. Ajax had shown that with pure class, great talents and masterful coaching that you could win the Champions League. So what did the wealthy clubs do? Invest more money in buying players, ruining the teams. Now they are noticing that that isn't helping much, other than ruining the smaller clubs when it comes to cash. The UEFA should interfere now, stopping the rich clubs who are ruining the smaller clubs to a chance of glory.
mooi om te zien het zou gek zijn als de Boer deze resultaat kan verwezelijken.

that's really interesting to hear, thanks for the post.
I personally loved LITMANEN back then (and still do), but the whole squad was terrific, I mean it's one of the best teams I've ever seen play.

Agree on that, Litmanen was always my favorite player back then.
