@simonbellringer that is the 4, and it comes down at a funny angle because of the clock mechanism, otherwise it is fine to ring as are all the bells though I am biased (I learnt to ring there!)
Oh shush the striking isn't good but the only way to get experience of ringing bigger bells is to try it out. At some point all of the best tenor/back end ringers would have had to have their first go, and you know they probably got it wrong, and learnt from their mistakes gradually over time.
If you can't pull it off you're not likely to be able to control it,which was glaringly obvious by the appalling striking. Its reputedly 22cwt (although its probably nearer 20) and slow turning.

What are they like to ring? The 3 in particular looks nasty to ring because of the extra-low draught.

That's what I have come to expect from some ringers. They always know more than you do, no matter how long you might have been ringing yourself!
