Petraeus boss Fallon said the surge didn't work, and said Petraeus was an ass-kisser. Petraeus also told us three years ago the war was a success and we'd soon be out. And he's got plans for running as the 2012 Republican Presidential candidate. All of which makes me question his objectivity in his case, particularly since he was the person who helped formulate this plan.
He "wrote the book" for counter insurgency. I'd want him to write my battle plan if my objective is coutner-inusrgency. I don't think a good political move would be to lead a failed plan....look at bush and rumsfeld. the fact that he wants to run for president shows me that he beleives in the plan even more (he has his enitre political career running on the surge)
The only way that a democrat could be elected is if they admit they were wrong for opposing the war on iraq, and begin to support the succussful troop surge, and new iraq
well GIJonathan730 i have to say the surge is not working it just not we should have left by now and sending more in is not the answer thats like filling a full water bullon with more water , its just going to pop
I'm very sorry to hear you say that partition is a viable plan. That is a completely wrong way to go! How can you even buy into the Anbar lie? The so-called Anbar Awakening was an "awakening" to figure out that it is better to be bribed by the US than to be shot. The US has hired and armed these killers. But these are the same people who committed ethnic cleansing in Anbar. They should be prosecuted not paid.
One problem with just "giving them the money". It probably won't make it that far down the pipeline. There'd be people at every point along the curve filling their pockets.
Everytime a national democrat gets in front of a microphone, it should be a civics lesson in part. "We've tried to end this, the Rs won't let us. And it won't end until we have a veto proof majority in the Senate. You, dear voter have that chance in Nov. 2008." Hammer it home, because it's the truth.
This comment has received too many negative votes show
You should whine more, with a really high, nasal
complaining voice, kind of like a teenager
making fun of somebody. That would add to your
credibility. It would make you more impressive.
