  • Good video

When I push my 406 hdi (90) clutch pedal in,I can feel a click halfway down the length of travel. Can get all gears tho. Bit of shudder when it's cold. Any ideas what the click feeling could be? It's def coming from gear box area (the sound).

Been told it could be pressure plates on way out

  • Just installed my first clutch over the weekend! Other than rusted bolts, everything went relatively smooth. My biggest issue was my vehicle doesn't have an easily obtainable clutch kit option (Was going to be a week to get and 450+ tax) so I reused parts from a lower mileage parts car and cleaned the flywheel and pressure plate with fine grit sandpaper. I used your tips and used an appropriate socket (A little duct tape around it to help snug the fit) and it works great! Thanks again!!!

  • no tool needed apart from the socket being used an alignment tool ???

  • @ylad1999 without a clutch allignment tool.... dont try to be sarcastic, this mans gone out of his way for people like me wondering if its possible.

  • I think my clutch is slipping, under harsh acceleration power skips for a second and he rattles slightly when engaged. I'm guessing this is clutch? Recently bought 1998 1.4, owned by a gran all it's life so not ragged but not cared for either. I was wondering how to change the clutch over as i've all the work needed myself so far (and on previous car, which was exactly the same make and model) and was wondering how hard it'd be. I'm not looking forward to tackling that gearbox. I only have jacks

  • ive been doing a scooby wrx clutch all day only got the gearbox half back on lol

  • its a 98 Ford Fiesta

  • phil mtchell? east enders?

  • I'd just use a rod with black tape wrapped in the right places. I spent hours under a V4 ford transit trying to align the cltch up...never again.

  • I know the feeling we didn't always get it right first time but 6 hours is probably some sort of record !

  • I once spent six hours trying to fit the gear box without a clutch aligner...

    WHERE WERE YOU PHIL???

    Great "trick", fantastic.
