  • Very fun but sounds a lot like Rob P's pachelbel rant

  • i dunno how many times ive seen these guys perform the 4 chords song, every year they do it, as much as i love it, they need something new

  • Props

  • Axis of Awesome = A cross between Al Bundy and Sheldon, Jack Black and IdrA in ten years.

  • Thumps up if you like little chickens

  • 'i'm gonna make love to your baby'

every time it makes me laugh. every single time.

  • No, it's I V vi IV. The I chord is the root chord, the roman numerals represent the other chord's values in relation to the root.

    ***NOTE***

Just because you use this chord progression does not mean you'll have a hit. There are a ton of chord progressions, and several are used more than this one (the I IV V progression is probably used in 98% of blues songs, and thousands and thousands of pop, rock, country, and folk songs. There is no real formula to writing a hit. ;)

  • If they did one about the I IV V chord progression, we'd be here for days.

  • what are those four chords?

  • @MRTTVD For this, E, B, C#m, A

  • Hey, where is a birdplane?!

  • Warum lachen die Leute immer?!

  • You can start with each chord and then the right order: I IV V VI

    For example:

    C G Am F

    G D Em C

    ...

  • @96Nintendo May you ecplain, what I IV V VI means?

  • @96Nintendo it's I V VI IV

  • @guitarz94 oh, sry, i mean I V VI IV xD ;)

  • @96Nintendo In a major key, it's I V vi IV. Lower case roman numerals mean that the chord is a minor chord.

  • I'm going to make love to your baby?!?!?!?!?!?

  • Fucking straight A+ Awesome

    Scar - missy higgins

  • What's that song called at 4:02????

  • this is gunna sound stupid but what are the four chords ??x

  • @26EmmaLouisexoxo It's a I-V-vi-IV progression. It doesn't really matter what chords you play as long as it follows these relative positions. The combination of 3 major and 1 minor chord is naturally appealing to the human auditory system.

  • @26EmmaLouisexoxo well if you wanted to know what the chords were the exact ones in this song goes F, C, Dm, B♭. As to what ArcadianGenesis said was also correct because it doesn't matter what chord you start with, as long as you follow that progression of I-V-vi-IV you can play this song starting on any chord to match with your voice. (eg: G, D, Em, C) p.s that progression will be a little easier to play because the chords are easier to play on guitar and keyboard.

  • I can say I am so proud to be Australian.

  • @HistoryIsForever true dat ;)

  • If i were a boy

  • JAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJA BUENÍSIMO!!!!! :)

  • I like the lion king part

  • Rather than naming all the possible combinations, lets just say the chords are:

The 1st, 5th, 6th minor and 4th note in any major key. Eg. E major, then the chords are E, B, C#m and A

  • @Evagealia thats fantastic! thanks. i just usually do it in E or D :)

  • We played this video in my Music Class. My teacher's reaction was priceless

  • Comment removed

  • These guys are brilliant.

  • piss off chicken little

  • can you post chords please. I would love you forever!

  • @Thegbbishop On the recorded version the chords are: D, Am, Hm, G... But you can also play: C, Gm, Am, F; or E, Hm, Cm, A...

  • @n3ssaya00 HAHA *tears in eyes*

  • @Thegbbishop What's so funny? :O

  • @n3ssaya00 Sorry, I thought it was pretty obvious which chords.. and my question was more of a joke.

You know, how people will immediately ask for chords when they want to learn a song....

In retrospect your response probably helped a bunch of folks out. So I am glad I asked it. :D

  • @Thegbbishop I wrote the chords, 'cause most of the people are too lazy to see what's he playing :D

  • @n3ssaya00 Mate are you having a laugh? Firstly, the whole point of the video is to point out that it is just four chords repeated that can be transposed to any key, not your list of totally wrong and hilarious chord sequences. The chords are I, V, vi and IV (1, 5, 6, 4), or in the key of C, C major, G major, A minor and F major. This can be transposed to any key and this is the whole point of the video.

  • @n3ssaya00 And sir, secondly, I don't care if someone taught you harmony round the back of a shed, but I study music in England and call me stupid but the chord 'Hm' does not exist. The sequences you gave are nonsensical and make no sense. So yeah, too bad if someone on meth taught you about chords for a laugh, but don't inflict your warped knowledge on the rest of the world, because I bet there's kids all over the world trying to play what you said, and crying because it makes.... no sense.

  • @92benmoore Sir, what you in England or USA, or I don't know where call Bm, is for us in the Europe Hm.

And, if C, G, Am, F is correct, what is then wrong with my E, H, Cm, A? Ok, i made a mistake. I wrote the second chord minor, instead of major.

  • @n3ssaya00 Wrong again broseph, would have to be a C#m (or C sharp minor or a semitone up, don't want it to be lost in translation). Cm would sound awful.

  • @n3ssaya00 so in what country is H a note?

  • EPIC WIN!

  • hahahahah legends

  • @keegirose theyre supposed 2 be nasally... its a cmedy band sartness... but ya i guess it wuld b prety kewl.... even a girl version hahahaha

  • JACK BLACK ?

  • everyone knoes the chord ant the strumming pattern for my guitar? :D

    whould be awesooooooooooome! :D

  • @Tscrubs27 it's G-D-Em-C in the same tempo as in the vid... good luck!

  • @feddetinga It is definitely not G D Em C. In this video, it's E B C#m A.

  • @Tscrubs27 In whatever key you're in, it's I vi iv V

  • Jordan at 2:47 XD

  • the singer its like a BLACK JACK...

  • Just wish they weren't so nasaly

  • ¬o¬

  • 3:24 sneaky hand movement

  • list of songs they did, please!

  • foo fighters - pretender is one!

  • @thatguy6117 which bit?

  • G C D Em right?
