  • Great playing. Both guitars sound incredible. They both have their purpose!

  • very good

  • Great job Guys

  • very good you guys! I was driving myself crazy watching your dad's right hand. I thought at the beginning that I was seeing him pinch a flat pick which I thought - whoa! He's going to flat pick this? but then I could see he was finger picking with his index and middle fingers... finally decided he's using a thumb pick as predicted? Is this right?

  • very very pleasing rendition - Thank you for posting this up so we can all share.

  • SWEEEEEEEEET!!!!!

  • So beautiful! :) Thanks! :)

  • This is awesome, turned me on to bluegrass. That taylor is a beast listen to that bass line.

  • Wow, very well done ... BRAVO! .. but the best is the epilog ...

    Best wishes,

    Lena

  • father and son's incredible performance.

  • I wish my dad could play like this! So who would you say is better... you or your dad?

  • You can't ask me that! haha, my Dad is a beast, he's been playing for about twice as long as I have even been alive. He has tought A LOT, he's a great player of 6, 12 string and bass

  • I just closed my eyes, and let burn an egg on the gas...

  • Yeah I nearly went for the DX1 myself, but i liked the smaller body shape of the 000 series, one day i will have a dreadnaught though. How do you find the DX1? They do sound sweet :)

Must be great having a player like your dad around to learn from, he finger picks like a mo fo !!!

  • the DX1 does sound really nice, and it seems to sound better than when I first got it a few years ago. But the 000X1 is very good. I recently picked up a 00-15, which feels just like the 000X1 but has a mellower tone. very nice guitar! my Dad is pretty good as you can tell

  • Great Vid Mate, I own a Martin 000x1 as of this morning :) its a great guitar dont you just love the feel of it? I nearly bought a taylor but opted for the martins tone in the end.

How long has it taken you to get this good at finger picking?

  • yeah they feel amazing, the 000X1 is my Dad's but i'd say I play it more than he does! taylor guitar seem very bluegrassy to me, but the I love the tone on the Martin 000X1. I play a DX1 as well, but the 000X1 wins on the fingerpicking front I think. I've been fingerpicking for about 1 and half years, maybe two. But I spend so much time playing and not enough on studies! I also listen to John Fahey and John Hurt all the time, which helps! Thanks for comment

  • Another superb video!

  • Wow..Those guitars complement each other well.I have watched you both play this song in all of your other vids with both guitars back to back and they are different in their own way.You guys are great..keep em coming. Thanks for all the great vid's..

  • but wait a minute! that's not john fahey. Jeez.

  • but wait a minute, shut your face,

    it is.

  • Sounds great guys!!!***** Hope you have a few more of these duets in the works.

  • OMFG!, you are awesome, you are so good, dude, keep up the good work.

  • Great tone and teqnique from both of you guys!It doesn't get any better than Martin and Taylor guitars, hard to say which is better. I've got a Martin 12-string, but have never played a Taylor. heard they had awsome tone.I love that country blues you're doin'!

  • Fantastic! Great sound

  • Great!

  • Hi Russel,

I just posted a video response for you - Richard and I playing together; except he plays the bass so its not so much of a duet - but still a father and son effort!

  • Very nice duet. The audio is wonderful with those two guitars. Thank you for posting this as a video response.
