you can understand why someone would swap the rotary for this... try something new and exciting and i do appreciate that... however i don't think the rx7 is the best car for that... its never gunna be as good or as quick as a properly tuned rotary. doing a 2jz swap on other cars would help them because they lacked grunt... the rx7 never did and putting a heavy 2jz lump makes it worse... a 500hp rotary rx7 (most are 500+) will devour a 600 2jz rx7..

@ is300ss rotary motors can make an ton of power, the problem is not to many people know how to build them. The engine in this vid is a 1jz. I used to think the same thing about rotarys then I met a guy who actually builds them. He has an RX2 putting out 750hp street legal. One thing I know most of the truly fast cars aren"t on youtube. Remember on thing, its not just the engine, forged internals etc, its who builds them.
