  • OMG!!!! I love this video. I have actually come to this conclusion before myself. I just never made a video and put it on youtube...

  • @SuperTblu Thank you! Have a great day.

  • @Sortsitar The point is not if the battery is real or not. It's the perception.

    Good comment. Thanks.

  • @Sortsitar This vid was made by cdk007. Why is the argument a failure?

  • @Sortsitar Since the bad husband can beat the woman of non-faith = God? Since you are a sorcerer, and Harry Potter isn't alive, does that prove Voldemort?

  • whats really interessting and so obvious is to look at the associations with god...doesnt everybody always think of a male god? i mean, i would bet that women also would associate automatically, like a reflex, that god must be a man...whalt else?

so many things are so obvious

  • @Serpico261 Good point. Is God black or white, why not Asian?

    Thanks for your comment.

  • at one point i heard halleluyah bendayhoe halleluyah,,, damn,,,, grrrrrrrrr

  • What the hell does being Asian have to do with any woman in any religion?

  • @DKJ100

    Confucianism, Daoism, Buddhism

  • Nicely done.

  • @sardinetea1 Thanks for your comment. Have a great day!

  • The analogy is rather poor. Firstly, the violent husband really exists. Whether you blame yourself for the violence or not, he will still be there. This would rather prove that whether you blame yourself or not for "violence" coming from God, He would still be there...

Secondly, storms and other natural calamities all have positive effects on life in the long run. The ignorant would read only destruction in such occurrences. Casualties occurring do not negate the overall benefit to life.

  • Comment removed

  • Thirdly, a violent husband inflicts pain for no fault of the wife's. God on the other hand warns: Do not use intoxicants, do not abuse & waste the earth's ressources, or live lives of irresponsibility, or lie or deceive others, or steal etc., or you will have to face the consequences. When those who disregard God's warnings either die in a car crash due to alcohol, or are hit by a freak calamity due to global human-caused climate change, who is to blame?

  • Natural calamities are part of the make-up of life, and all are affected by them. Occurrences that are the result of disregarding God's admonishment sometimes afflict the good as well as the wicked; the actions of some have an effect on all. Therefore, every individual has a responsibility towards the whole of mankind to behave responsibly and unselfishly. We are all on the same boat; if someone bores a hole through the hull, all will perish. God can in no way be compared to a selfish husband.

  • Thanks for your comments.

They make little sense, but thanks anyway.

Whether the husband or God exists is not the topic of this vid. It's the response form the wife's side to violence.

Natural disasters are natural. If there's a God, why the violence from him? He's all-powerful. No need for violence. Wonder what you'd think when your family is killed by a disaster?

God is imaginary. Otherwise he would be an ass. God IS selfish. "Worship ME. Love ME. Or i KILL you!" LOL!

    Grow up!

  • I didn't expect my comments would make sense to someone like you. The fact is, that of the two of us, YOUR strategy is the most risky one. If God doesn't exist, then after we both die, there will be nothing, everything will just end there. You will have had some fun for a few years on earth, and I will have wasted a few years praying and obeying God's commandments. So what? But if He DOES exist, then I stand a chance. But you? My friend, you're sitting on a volcano, hoping it won't explode. Bye.

  • Pascal's Wager? ROFLMAO! What are you? 12 years old?

Your argument has been moot for over a century (or is it 2?). You have internet. Easy too look "Pascal's Wager" up.

    As I said... Grow up.

(btw... Which god are you talking about? Is it Thor'? Is it Allah? YHWH? Apollo?) LOL!

  • My dear, I thought my argument would be either proven moot or proven right only when we die... Or have you died and come back and now know for sure that there is nothing waiting for you? You have no proof whatsoever, it is just an assumption you are making. But you will find out the truth or falsehood of what I am saying when your time comes. So, enjoy your life. No atheist can ever prove the non existence of God. I thought you could realise that. Apparently not.

  • You didn't answer the question about which god Pascal's Wager pertains to. What if you pick the wrong god?

And you can't prove the non existence of Santa Claus.

    ;-)

  • God has spoken to me several times. If Santa Claus speaks to you, let me know.

  • Can't answer q's, can you? ;-)

  • Nice video!

  • A profound comparison, however, the title seems a little off topic compared to CDK007's original title. It seemed that the video dealt with theists apart from deists, not just women in religion.

We are all subject to be victims of events that don't make social sense. In other words, we can't make sense of tragedy by personifying it or the cause of the tragedy. That's what science is good at - making sense of these events to prevent them or mitigate the consequences of them.

  • Well said.

You observtion is correct. I changed the title becuse I wish to reach a different audience, and because women always get "short changed" in any and all religions.

    Thanks for your comment.

  • I'd like to add one more thing to the list of symptoms - the victims will try to do anything to appease the abusive figure. My Social Psych prof said that women in abusive relationships have more sex than women in non-abusive relationships - sick, I know, but that seems to be the case.

In theism, this often means sacrifices or putting hope of heaven or fear of hell above genuine concern for anyone who actually exists - a sort of slow personal sacrifice of what they know for what they don't.

  • Thanks for another well written comment.
