  • This is the most beautiful version I have ever heard. This does this somg justice, I sent this video to my dad. Your pipe organ sounds wonderful.

  • They do sound great through my Bose headphones. thanks

  • This hymn has always been special to me since I first learnt it as a Methodist. Quickly became my personal statement of faith - especially verse 4 about my chains falling off. Wished we anglicans would sing the harmony at the end of each verse properly. Its not the same as when Methodists sing it as they have it down to perfection.

  • @x8lover Amen! Completely agree with that!

Being both Welsh and Baptist, we tend to like those harmonies at the end of verses, so truly do belt out the 'My Chains fell off, my heart was free' with fervour!

  • I love it!!

  • Fine sound - who is the maker please ? We are having a dedication service and this hymn is being sung .

  • Thanks - I mention the Organ on my Profile but for now, a Viscount - made in Italy.

  • Cool, great hymn!

  • I love this old hymn. Great job on the organ. How long have you been playing? I played for my church (piano) for many years. I loved playing duets with the organ in my church! Good times.

  • That hymn is great. Do you know where i can find it, same page..? Thx

  • That is wonderful. You must love 'And can it Be' as much as I do down here in Adelaide, South Australia where the early Methodists settled in the 1840's.

This hymn has to be kept alive because of it's triumphant message.

    Thomo

  • @15brougham I agree, but how do you keep song or literature alive when the language becomes archaic? In this age youth want nothing to do with old. That's why all the modern bible translations - to at least get a hearing from the next generation, and maybe also to revuvenate the older generation a bit, no?

  • Lord, I am so unworthy. And can it be, that I should gain an interest in the saviors blood?

  • He died for me so I could gain. Now I will die for him so He can be exalted!

  • This is my favorite hymn and you play it beautifully ... the tears are running down my face as you play as my heart swells. THANK YOU!

  • You're welcome †

  • Do you have a website....you dont see many organists dress like you and wearing tats....very cool...yup ya cant beat the good old hymns for power and strength in the word.....keep up the great work....buddy
