For the most part, your videos show some real idiots, but not the one of the "road closed". The sign has no legal meaning whatsoever, just a temporary sign left by road workers. I would go past the sign if I had to get to premises in that road to say deliver, or maybe some were doctors or nurses on call? What if they lived around the corner? No offence committed there.
that guy in the ridiculous looking MG (CX02 PTO) parked like a total idiot, if a cyclist came over the brow of that bridge they would not be expecting a car parked right there, and would probably go straight through the windshield.
Nice video ccj221. I've had a similar problem in Chelmsford with idiots driving through a bus station and then the wrong way down a narrow one way road because the couldn't be arsed (i.e. TOO LAZY!) to take the extra 2 mins to go the correct way round. Kept sending pics to Essex Police with no action. Then emailed my MP and sent him copies. He wrote to the Chief Const and then arses got kicked and points issued! Try it in Chester ;)
Bit of advice for anyone who wants rid of their old banger, lie in wait near a narrow one way street like in the video. Whenever an idiot drives down it the wrong way plough your car into them, they won't have a leg on to stand on insurance wise. As a bonus you also damage their car!
I lived in and around Chester for 18 years and there are an awful lot of streets marked as 1-way almost pointlessly. I know there are various reasons for marking a road 1-way but many in Chester seem to be for no clear reason or benefit. I'm pretty sure 90% of people would not class these drivers as dangerous (potentially dangerous, perhaps).
@MrJascol It wont stop everyone obviously, but it will definately make people think.Do i want to be shamed in public,or do i value my job.As alot of employers would not look to kindly on someone driving dangerously, would they ?.
And it also lets the authorities know what is happening in a given area,i notice you didnt answer my question on my last reply to you.
And call me what you want, but remember i would have nothing to film if everyone drove properly.
@ccj1221 I admire what you do as our driving standards do need to be sharpened up. Tail gaiting is my number one pet hate as well as driving when using mobile phones and not indicating, especially on roundabouts. Also drink drivers are the worst, but it's catching them.. Undertaking, especially on motorways is another annoying thing and idiots that do 50mph in built up side roads where there's a potential for children to walk out from parked cars.
@ccj1221 This is increasingly normal driving behaviour in this country of ours. I think we should rename it IgnoApathyStan instead of Great Britain. Don't take my word for it, have a look tomorrow. If you can't see a problem then you are part of the problem.
The road closed signs shouldn't of been there and there is enough room on the one way street. Please tell me how anyone can get seriously injured. The hump bridge is a bit to risky but the rest are fine.
Would you use a closed road with a police car behind you,i think not and WHY.
Also, imagine one of your family being run over and seriously injured by someone with your attitude.I bet you would be happy about it wouldnt you,NOT.
Road works are an inconvenience to us all,but that is not an excuse.
And i would definately send drivers to prison for a few weeks atleast, for going over that bridge the wrong way and make them resit there driving test.
I used to drive into Chester a lot on business and saw this type of thing a lot. Especially to the north of Chester where ther was a national speed limit road coming in- rear prangs & collisions were a daily occurence, although never had anybody coming the wrong way over the bridge!
You should show some of these to the police, as their reg numbers are clearly visible and they could easily be done for careless/dangerous driving!
Thanks dave, but the police and local newspapers know all about this problem.
And it looks like it is going to take a fatal or serious accident for maybe cameras to be installed, but a serious accident WILL happen there.Just a question of when, and i hope the guilty party gets a life long driving ban AND sent to prison.
Thanks again dave, and take care especially in chester.
Did the first one (one-way street) almost daily in my last apartment. My garage was less than 300 feet from the no entry sign, while entering correctly would have required a nearly two mile drive (river on one side of road with hill on other). City eventually banned parking on that roadway, which allowed traffic in both directions.
These People going up the wrong way on a one way Street are asking for trouble. What if they encounter a Nutter who Automatically thinks he is not going to meet someone coming the wrong way and Speeds along and smacks into them.
A long time ago I knew a Guy who would drive right up to the Speed Limit and beyond ,a really Mad Driver. I hated getting Lifts off Him ,I would just Refuse to Accept a Lift he was that Mad. So you will get this sort on the Road as well.
Isn't it amazing, a video shows drivers acting dangerously, and yet a fool [njpwrxsti], feels the need to criticise a cyclist, who is clearly there only briefly and causing no danger. Unlike driver morons of which njpwrxsti is clearly one.
njpwrxsti is much more likely to be a danger to other road users than any cyclist.
@pseudotruth - I see that too. I never understand that, seeing as I am a super-Hi-Viz cyclists and I even carry spare lights. Then there are cyclists who wear black. I also see motorists at night driving with no lights, I couldn't believe it the other day. Unfortunately people are human and that's another thing we are battling.
@pseudotruth - it has been known for people to say to me 'is that a Christmas tree going by?. Sometimes I wonder if I am so bright I may be introuble for distraction!
I also have gone the Hi-Viz route I carry spare lights and batteries. I wear lots of reflectives and fluorescent stuff. Typically before lighting-up time, I run a front light [hub dynamo V bright] plus two rear lights: one steady [hub dynamo bright] and one flashing. The flashing one gets switched on early if there's low sun etc.
My headlight is bright enough to spot potholes on unlit roads.
The thing is if you wear Hi-Viz, there is no excuse if they say 'I didn't see you'. Saying that, I have had that even though I have lights and Hi-Viz. Is it a kind of stock reply if a motorist hits you? One person I know had Hi-viz and still got hit so there is no guarantee but I used my horn a lot so at least they can hear me before they see me.
yeh good clip but seeing it is cyclist vs idiot drivers emmm what about the idiot that parks his bike across the path with the trailer on the bridge thats an idiot !!! just like the rest of em on the road .... get some insurance !!!! and pay some road tax matbe we would give a fuck about you
2:35 , the bloke walks across the street looking the other way for on coming traffic, not realising the prick coming the other way on the way street..

You have to remember though that these "dicks" obviously inhabit the planet "I can do what the fuck I like" and not planet earth like the rest of us!!
Hey ccj1221, I like your style. The twits going the wrong way over the hump bridge is nuts. Great way to have a head on crash and not even know it's coming. Where did you get the music "The idiots are taking over the world" ?

@urbex2007 I can assure you there were NO temporary lights at any of the locations,so i didnt conveniently forget to show them.
There were NO diversion signs in place, directing drivers to ignore no entry signs.
So you are absolutely WRONG,please try and get your facts right next time.

That is why i didnt reply to him,the cyclist is not exactly a danger to anyone.
The camera i use is a sony handycam hard disc drive, windscreen mounted an excellent bit of kit and resonably cheap.

As a cyclist and driver, [I mostly cycle] I am increasingly horrified in a 'new batch' of cyclists doing crazy-stupid things.
Riding at night, no lights, no reflectors, stealth clothing and the wrong side of the road!
