  • @newdude32 yeah, but i can carry a gun and a machete and take them out far beyond biting range

  • When I was living in SO Cal 2004, I looked at one at Turners Outdoorsman. I can't believe they stopped making those. Nice rifle bro! Great Shooting!

  • what do you think of the HI-point carbine 9mm 40 or 45acp?

  • @jameswrwice Not the prettiest girl at the bar... But they run and run. I had a very old high point 9mm carbine and that thing ran forever. Almost to the point to where I was wishing it would break. Wife put me on the "get rid of a gun and you can get a gun" program. :/ And nobody would ever buy that ugly thing so I was stuck with it. It never broke I sold it for 150 bucks. So they are very durable fire well and eject well. I had no weapon related problems from that carbine.

  • I really liked the vid, but wanted some background on the velocities or I wouldnt have said anything. I was talking about factory ammo, not reloads. Thats an area that I dont know much on, as I dont do it myself.

Im glad for the quick response, as I have been wondering about such a high velocity out of the 9mm, even out of a carbine. But if you are using hot hand loads, that would make more sense. A 147gr bullet going 1400fps is as fast as it can go, given the powder capacity.

  • @freehling420 Not exactly sure what your wanting but I will try to give you something :) Depending on the company/bullet type and weight/case, powder, primer/weather, barrel twist and length your going to get a WIDE area in FPS. Take Federal bulk 9mm rated at 1180 fps. I get around 1210 on average out of that round on a cool day. Summer I get about 1240-50 average from the carbine. The box fps is a guide not the law. Rifles can potentialy get about 25-50 fps increas every few inches of length.

  • I love the premise and the purpose of this video. But Ive never seen any 9mm bullet travel over 1475fps out of a pistol (corbon 100gr powerball), and out of a rifle it would be lucky to hit 1600. As far as a 9mm 147gr bullet going 1400fps, Id have to see it to believe it. You just dont get that kind of velocity jump out of a rifle over a pistol, in auto pistol calibers. They simply cant hold the amount of powder it takes to do that. Please someone prove me wrong.

    Otherwise, good vid.

  • @freehling420 I have a chronograph and have done the research. The faster reloaded bullets I have chrono'd at around 1550 give or take. I used to show all my data but even then after showing the data people would doubt the machine or bla bla bla. I no longer go out to "prove" my information. Those who know me know I do not lie or make up data. You can get close to 1600 fps out of a 9mm round comming out of this rifle because I have done it. average with factory ammo is around 1350-1425 fps

  • zombies..walking dead..i see them all over ..well they seem brain dead anyway..seem to go for high fructose corn syrup -so far.. but then there's the crack zombies.. plenty of them too.. when a significant nuclear or natural disaster happens what shocked, starved, diseased wretches that stumble out are gonna seem like zombies -in a shutdown civilization youre gonna wish you had something to defend yourself with.

  • I just bought a 9mm Hi Point carbine today. It was cheap, not bad looking, and most importantly accurate and didn't jam when I put about 50 rounds through it. I just wish I could find 15 rd mags for it.

  • People, do you really think that a zombie apocalypse can happen?

I think its more for movies than to reality.

I think that a fall of our society is more posible, in example if electric power shuts down because of runing out of oil or by solar waves (it has hapened in past, but there were not much use of electricity in those old days).

In that context i think we will be killing each other instead of zombies because of surviving and protecting and feeding our beloved own people.

  • @Elgastonable Zombie are a metaphore for people. In this letigious over sensitive society saying that your going to shoot some dirtbag whos breaking into your house is not politicaly correct. So I use "zombie" for people. You will never see me talking about Zombies comming to life.. bla bla.. That is plain silly.

  • @shoktroop Pfffff you are right!

  • @shoktroop I wondered if all this talk about zombies was code for urban people who escape the city in a SHTF situtation and go to the countryside.

  • @Deep13Deep13Deep13 Yes I use "Zombies" as a metaphore for people. It is not PC now a days to talk about shooting dirt bag humans, Even if they are trying to kill you. The police and US Gov want you to just be killed/raped and let them worry about "JUSTICE". Ya right. Just like the police do. I shoot first then worry about justice. And as the police do I'm sure to "Fear for my life" in that situation :)

  • @shoktroop just stopped by to say hey i see your still having to explain thing further in depth then you have to lol take care

  • @Elgastonable Bra-a-a-ins!!!

  • @Elgastonable its just something fun to talk about....

  • KelTec Sub 2000 chambered for Glock paired with the 33 round mag ... FTW!

  • You say your shooting at the gongs, but I dont hear the gongs...

  • does ruger sell this still.

  • @onebigkahuna69 No they do not. They stopped due to lack of sales. And the price tag of $600 was kinda expensive for a 9mm rifle. Ruger marketing sometimes loses touch with reality with the prices of some of their products.

  • @shoktroop hahaha! i got a calico m951 in 9mm with a 100 rnd. mag used for 615 bucks just because it was a dream gun but honestly i wouldnt count on it to save my life in a pinch mostly since loading 100 rnds 1 at a time sucks but also it has a feed issue since you need to manually crank the mag spring. different amount of tension every time causes double feeding :(

  • Thoughts on the CX4 Storm carbine? I got to try one out at the range the other day and it felt perfect in my hands, and he said they can be picked up for 200 bucks. Didn't sound like a bad deal.

  • @fattommy16 Great little carbine! I have had the chance to fire a hundred rounds out of one and it ran well and had no issues. It was an accurate rifle and I was able to hit the 8 inch gong at 200 yards over and over with it. I would say for $200 grab one!

  • @fattommy16

If you can get it for $200 get it! they retail at $650!!!

  • @fattommy16 i paid $850 for my cx4, hell for $200 I'll buy it and give you a $100 finders fee, just reply to me if it is true

  • 9mm pistol and 9mm carbine are a great combo. One type of ammo and clips for some may be interchangeable. Also in my mind a gauge is always needed.

  • have a back up plan. You need to always have a bug out plan and gear ready. Staying fit and healthy is a huge benefit, keep your weapons consistent that way you are not carrying 40 lbs of 4 different type of ammo's. Remember water and food are heavy as well. Planning to bunker done is fine, Just not always realistic.

  • Ruger SUCKS for discontinuing making these carbines !

  • @shoktroop ok thanks for the info I'm going to try that with the JB weld that sounds like it should do the job. Thanks again!

  • @ shoktroop No it's not cracked or anything just pretty beat up. I've been looking around seeing if I can find a used one anywhere locally. I did come across a pc40 receiver/Barrel, by any chance do you think I can use the 40 receiver and switch back and forth between the 40 and 9 barrels to be able to shoot both rounds out of my Ruger? Thanks!

  • @mywhitehoe Ya know I really don't think so. Kinda like the Ruger 10/22 Magnum bolt/reciever are different than a stock 10/22. Since the .40 is bigger the receiver has to be a bit bigger as well as the barrel port/threads. You could sand down the beat up receiver and fill in any large scrapes with JB Weld Quick. Sand down to a fine finnish and repaint . I have done that to my beat up Rugers b4 and it works. Doenst chip or flake off.

  • I've been looking for those gloves forever ? What are they? Thanks :)

  • @Badkuipeend They are the Mechanix line of work gloves. These are the "heavy duty" line. The others are very thin. Givem a try for the money they are pretty well built and cheap enough if you manage to rip them you wont be out big bucks!

  • @shoktroop Thanks man!

  • Hello Shoktroop thanks for the videos of the Ruger pc9 there's not a whole lot of them out there that go into the detail of the pc. Would you happen to know where I can buy a replacement receiver for my pc9? The guy I bought it from somehow damaged it. It still fires but I would like a new one. Thanks.

  • @mywhitehoe Damn I'm sorry to hear that. You can not buy a receiver alone. Is the receiver cracked or is it just scratched up? Things I can't get for my PC9 are barrels and receivers and some of the bolt parts.

  • can i ask what you think of the S&W M&P 15-22

  • @imachku It's a good rifle fun to shoot and pretty reliable. But I would not buy one and I have freinds that have them and shoot them at my house. Can't mod them very much and your stuck with that barrel the crappy trigger system on it and a few other things I just don't care about. It is a good gun. Fun to shoot and plink around with. But I am hard on my rifles/22s and use them in the field, they get dirty I lay them in the dirt etc. thats why I like the rugers. They run and run.. and run..

  • +p ammo is just a marketing ploy anyway.

  • @Warpath2198 I understand your comment and in a VERY basic way your correct. But there are specific weapons designed to fire high pressure ammunition. Like the Ruger Redhawk or GP100 etc. I have actually seen at my ranch a guys S&W Sigma come apart due to his using +P 9mm rounds. On average manufacturers try not to overpressurize the case of the bullet. Ever use quality +P ammo? I have and I can tell you for sure you can tell your shooting +P ammo vs standard ammo.

  • @newdude32 lol you're good until your arm gets tired

  • i love this rifle, never shot it but i am in the market for a 9mm carbine. 995 i've heard is cheap and nice but it is ugly, the aftermarket stock looks like a beretta knockoff and i hate knock off look a like guns. wish they still have this for a cheap price.

  • hey shock I also have the ruger pc9 carbine rifle. sweet rifle, I was wondering if you can do a video on how to put the pistol grip on the front like you have on yours. thanks and keep up the cool vids..

  • @abraham13632 Yes I will make a video for you and any others who may be wondering on do do that. As well as a few other mods I have done. I.E the trigger. I will do that this weekend if not tomarrow/Friday.

  • I turned down a great deal on one of these :(

    Wish I wouldn't have now

  • @atvwes Ya I kinda know what you mean. When they first came out they sold off the shelf and were back ordered for several months. I actually had to bribe the gun shop and pay $50 MORE for the rifle. I basicaly purchased a $8 sling for $60. I just had to have one and did not want to wait seven months. :/

  • You know what i got for a zombie apocalypse? a 30 inch double bladed machete with a high carbon heat treated tg-10 steel blade sharpened to razor edges. Bring it zombies.

  • @newdude32 lol, u swing it and it gets stuck in a zombies head, then 30 ofem eat you. great job!

  • @randallschecter im a strong guy. it will go through its head.

  • @newdude32 same here, and i have a medevil claymore sword. and it would be the last weapon i would use against zombies. guns r better! what if u get blood on you and it turns you into one? better to kill at a distance.

  • @newdude32 you are going to die. you need fire power

  • In a zombie apocalypse wouldn't you focus on ensuring you have a continual supply of water and food? being able to defend yourself wouldn't mean squat if you'll only last a week.

  • @marineninga Yes your right. I already have a supply of MRE style food and just over 100 gallons of water stored, propane, gas & medical supplies. The sad part is. That in a disaster those people who DID NOT PREPARE will be coming after those who did! Just like in Katrina. FEMA will help some/most people maybe. But I plan on staying & defending my home/family. In a "zombie" apocolypse you will need to know how to defend yourself with a firearm, be trained in emergency first aid and survival.

  • Remington 870 will do for a zombie apocalypse

  • @rtruth15 I hope you have a good semi auto hand gun or rifle as well. Most shotguns at max carry 9-10 rounds. Then you gotta reload. If you have multiple threats comming at you at one time I fear you may be lunch. :) Most people have a hand gun so I'm sure you do as well. Keep mags loaded but not to the max. Nothing is worse than mags that wont work do to spring fatigue from being stored long term stuffed to the max.

  • I don't what it is with these carbines, but I just love the report they make sometimes just a "pak, pak, pak"

  • great video. I wish I could get more guns but the fact I am still in high school greatly limits that.

  • @wwetrooper88 Ya I thought the same thing when I was in HS. Soon as I turned 18 I purchased my first rifle. Take your time grown up. When you do get your first rifle/handgun please practice with it safely and keep the muzzle pointed away from anything your not ready to destroy! :) Take care and Semper Fi.

  • @shoktroop one last thing, where did you get that buttstock pouch on your pc9?

  • @MrOohrah88 It is a Spec Ops AR mag pouch. Costs about $10. Nice cuz you can stuff 3 15 round mags into it. I have two 15 round mags in it. I like my mags to be able to be pulled or dropped out easily. In a panic or hasty reload i dont want to have to fumble to get the mag out. Trust me. Been there and one that. :)

  • @shoktroop thanks for all the help, keep up the great vids

  • @shoktroop I want to do the same thing to my factory 10/22 stock, do you think I would have to shim it? Also, does it really matter wether or not the light is parallel to the barrel?

  • @MrOohrah88 I dont think you have to shim it. If you go with the Hellfighter Tac light holder and a surefire/streamlight tactical light it will put the center of the light beam right along the barrel/bullets path. So your red dot would be dead center of that once sighted in for 50 yards. I prefere my light below the barrel. If you put the light on the side you will have a "Black" zone, meaning the barrel will blockout light on the opposing side. Not good when you need to see zombies at night :)

  • Also, did you shim the stock so the light is parallel to the barrel?

  • What mount did you use for your flashlight?

  • @MrOohrah88 I used a Hell fighter tactical light holder. They make an offset holder and a below gun holder. I used the undergun holder. It costs about $20 from MidwayUSA Product #: 371342 . And I did not have to shim it. With the red dot and light on at night they are in perfect alignment.

  • Nice review Shock. I picked up a Berretta Cx4 Storm in 9mm a few years ago, mainly because my AR was too pricey to shoot economically. It's a great little gun. Now, of course, you talked me into a 10/22... just picked up one of those up a couple weeks ago as well. I haven't had time to tac it out yet, but I do already have the extended mag release on order. Time to watch some of your older vids and get some good advice. Thanks for the great tips!

  • @kalel01a B4 you tac it out let me know what you want to do and I can make some recomendations to you. Congrats on your 10/22. Best friggen .22 semi auto rifle on the planet. If you have any questions please feel free to ask me anything. Some of the videos i have made are due to your suggestions. So in a way I owe you. :) Any questions you have please, please feel free to ask. I will give you the best intel I can. Semper Fi brother..

  • awesome rifle bro thanks for sharing

  • Awesome rifle. I always wanted one of those but I'll probably go with the sub2000 first.

  • @jboritzki The Sub2000 is a great carbine as well. Just looks like crap. I like the fact that William Ruger was a fan of WWII carbines and made his 10/22 and the PC9 to look like a M1 carbine. I love the look of the M1 carbine. If you get a Sub2000 let me know how it is will ya? I'm curious. Thanks.

  • @shoktroop hey shok was wondering whats your take on the new hi point carbine rifles? was thinking of getting a 9 or 40 they look great but dont know much about them to say for sure so if any knowledge or info would be great thanks again

  • @redmule02 HiPoint Carbines are well worth the money . They may not be sexy but they run and run. The caliber choice is pretty much a financial decision in my opinion. If your going to use it for self defense mainly or casual plinking I would go with the .45 caliber carbine. They dont call the .45 caliber bullet the "Meat Hammer" for nothing. :O) Yes the 9mm will kill nearly as effective as a .45.. Nearly. The 9mm is a economical way to have fun and still be able to kill Zombies efficiantly.

  • @shoktroop hey shok thanks for the input thanks for the time
