They also have a rich culture, Nordic mythology, and tales of battle and such. Not to mention they always do their own stuff cuz for the most part they're cut off from most of the outside influences. That's all theory though.

@ScarsOfTheForgotten No, I have, but it's not easy to find when you're looking for melodeath bands. Besides, not too many bands use pure clean vocals anyway, excluding symphonic metal mainly. There are other genres that use clean vocals, I'm sure, but symphonic is the one that came to mind.

I absolutely love Architect of Lies. I actually think it's their best cd so far. It took me a few listens to get past the new screamer, but the music is just way too dominant to even care. This band owns.

Yes. Haha actually that album had some great moments, but i think you hear a lot of that "faster, heavier, more modern" direction Mike, Rene and Martin wanted to go in. The verses of Execution Style and Bloodsong are the most obvious examples, i think. So i can agree with you in that sense. I'd prefer others like Death Connection or Embrace the Nothing, which i think keep some of the elements that made 11 Dreams and Hours so damn awesome. Im just pissed off that i never got to see them live.
