OK. 2 things I don't get. I don't watch that much hockey, but why isn't the ref 2 feet off telling them to quit being four-year-olds and save their whacks for the puck? Also, why is the announcer calling out their punches it's not boxing and most of us can recognize the hands they're using

The reason for calling the punches is that the voice feed is from the radio. The people listening to the radio can't see the punches.
