The Fourteenth and Fifteenth amendments were passed after the Civil War to ensure equal rights and voting rights for black men in the south. Then with the Compromise of 1877, union troops left the south for 80 years and that allowed white men to disarm and disenfranchise black through Jim Crow and thee KKK. Are you saying the Fourteenth and Fifteenth amendments were worthless because 'either authorized it or were powerless to prevent it?'

I told you I only agree with about 1/2 of what Paul says.

In criticizing statism I was criticizing it as it has existed during my entire life: the false left/right paradigm bought and paid for by the corporate elite.

The state can be a great instrument if it is led by individuals who are genuinely interested in promoting the interests of American citizens. People like Dennis Kucinich and Ralph Nader are good examples.

I appreciate your comment, but it takes all kinds. Some don't like the image of father teaching his son how to shoot. The fact that all different walks of life can come together for the goal of freedom makes us powerful. I am slightly concerned about the "V" image however. I put it there because, when I saw the movie, it made me weep (in a good way). But for those who have not seen the movie, it may seem a little out of place. Let me know what you think.
