  • 1:37 that face!! that perfect face!

  • Benedict's wink = epic, and really quite sexy :3

  • The music in the pilot was just silly

  • The music in the pilot was just silly

  • Thanks for sharing!!!

  • "Their first night together...HANGING OUT"

  • A Pilot in many ways is like a dress rehearsal. Only for TV instead of Theater.

  • "Sherlock Holmes and John Watson are a fantastic pairing."

    OMG. O.o

  • I can't get enough of Sherlock Holmes.

I'm so, so, so glad that I read these stories as a youngster. Every teenager needs to read these books, whether you're a thug, a nerd, a gamer, a cheerleader - you /need/ to read these books.

  • thank you for this, it's really good

  • Can't believe I'll actually be in Britain for the first airing of the new episodes! :D I can't get BBC back home.

  • Does anyone know when the second season is going to be out? SirKnobofCheese thank you so much for posting these and you have an epic name. lol :D

  • @GunsmokeForever Thanks and they're filming it now,so it should be out at the end of the year or begining of next.

  • @SirKnobofCheese what you mean the second season is going to be out 2012? IN ENGLAND? Oh god, how long will we have to wait for it in Germany, then?

  • @quotecat7 The second series will air this Autumn in England....

  • @thomasimon oh good....I wouldn't have been patient enaugh to wait this long... =D

  • @quotecat7 Will you watch it in German or English?

  • @Triplesod english of course! I hate the way all those funny brilliant little things get literally lost in translation...

  • @quotecat7 I wish I could do the same but you know what us Brits are like... to lazy and arrogant to learn other languages.

For that I can only say entschuldigung!

P.s. I do plan to learn German one day. I've been in love with the German language, country, people and culture since I met my first (real) girlfriend who was from Mecklanberg.

  • @Triplesod Mecklenburg, right?

anyway, I don't really understand what's so beautiful with the german language...I mean, I live here and I've always spoken it, but then I think in the end, the english language is better in a way. You can just express yourself better and I think most of the time it sounds better, too. (And you just CANT have those horrible dialects we have here-that is my family speaking one of them!)

  • MecklEnbUrg. Course. Thanks for the correction. She moved to Berlin, for Uni, when I was with her so I ended spent a couple of months around Elisabethstraße and in an area East of the wall on another visit.

What's so beautiful about it? Nowt (nothing)! It certainly isn't beautiful!:-)

I dunno what it is. Don't forget, I'm a bit of a Deutschophile, so it could even sound like a Liverpool accent and I'd still love it!:-)

Remember, I don't speak it, so I'm only going from the sound.

  • It also seems to be one of the few languages that goes brilliantly with Rock music.

Not sure what you mean about German dialects. I wasn't aware of any. Do you mean, like Prussian, Bavarian, Saxony etc? Maybe DDR? Are they dialects or accents, though? Either way, don't forget, the UK not only has 4 home languages (more minor ones), plus dialects, like Newcastle, for example, uses some old Norse/Viking words), + UK has the most noticeably different accents per square mile in the World.

  • Actually, thinking about it, Germany having several dialects makes sense, considering her fascinating history, from tribal areas, through the Holy Roman Empire, through losing and gaining regions none stop (Alsace, Sudetanland, etc) right up to relatively recently. Plus sharing so many borders.

Yeah, I can understand that now (would appreciate some real info though, mate, if you have the time).

    Anyway, thanks for the replies.

    All the best.

    Tschüss!

  • @Triplesod allright...maybe for you, it would sound all right, but honestly....ever heard someone from Bayern talking. I mean, i don't know what it would sound like for you, but certainly NOT beautiful or pretty or anything like that. Because to most Germans, it's just awful. well, I guess none of us can have the better arguments in that but it'S my opinion.

  • @Triplesod and the tihng about the beauty might just be the fact that nearly every german artist is completely incapable of singing or (espially!) writing songs and I'm just so in love with some english speaking singers' voices and there are so many wonderful songtext.

  • @quotecat7 No.. you're misunderstanding. Im saying I DONT think German is a beautiful language. Far from it. I think it's a wonderful language though but can't quite explain why.

I also said that German is one of few languages that DOES sound good when sung in Rock music.

I think Blixa Bargeld would be extremely upset to hear you speak like this about your shared language! :-)

Maybe we should stop posting in this thread now but feel free to send me a message, if you'd like.

    Danke.

  • @GunsmokeForever it is out in Autumn :-D

  • @GunsmokeForever May 6 , at least in america

  • @GunsmokeForever January 1st 2012 in England. I'm not sure about anywhere else though :S

  • I passed the skating park on the South Bank on my way to see Frankenstein! I got so excited! And on the way to Euston Station ready to go home, we passed 'Baker Street' aka North Gower street and I screamed in the cab when I saw Speedy's. That trip to London was such a Sherlock Holmes/Benedict Cumberbatch experience :)

  • At 3:50, how did they record their voices, was it all ADR? I didn't see any boom mics.

  • @fjrsm As I understand it, BBC does a LOT of ADR. I don't know if it's all ADR, though.

  • "talking cheese" hehe.....

  • SirKnobofCheese, whoever u are, thank you for sharing this, you are like, squeee!!! my favorite friend right now

  • @y8y82k Glad you like it.

  • can i just say, i absolutly LOVE the word 'fetishise' now!!

    (L) Benedict

  • 3 eps only? MORE please, BBC!!!

  • @pagielme4ever

I understand, there will be 3 more episodes in the year 2011.

  • @Taurus2May Thanks, I'm truly glad! I read up...no spoilers intended, but it's gonna tough to sit through & wait till then after ep. 3's massive cliffhanger!!!

  • @Taurus2May the director sir gave off 3 clues that i have already deduced, "Adler, Renchben, and hound" hound as in hound of baskerville. Adler as in Irena Adler. and Rechben (sorry for spelling) as in Rechenben falls were Holmes and Moryartie fought to the death.

  • @pagielme4ever YEAS!!!!!!!!!MORE!!!!!

  • @pagielme4ever Can you wait til' August?? xD
