There is no reason AT ALL to make a point over a supercar interior. All that matters is the engine, the drivetrain, and the suspension/tires. And what you can do to it.
I'm sure in the couple of years, the ZR1 will cheaply have a couple of turbos, as the supercharger is limited in power and making the engine bigger will slow it down to get even with the $250K GT2RS's time of 7:18. If Porsche is smart, it would PHASE OUT the 911 so it would send more of its resources to the mid-engined Cayman since it has been proven to have equally good performance at a cheaper price compared to the 911.

Damn nice run. I'm a big fan of Honda engines personally; like the F20c in the S2000. But, everyone has to respect the ZR1. Great power and stout as hell. Just don't put some lame tires on it, hahah. If I had my choice of an American-made vehicle to roll on a track, it'd be a ZR1 for sure.
By far the best performance for the price. Obviously people buy Ferrari's for the name and luxury. But as someone else said in another ZR1 video, I would take performance over luxury any day.

Remember that a Mclaren is going to set you back nearly a million dollars new, and a Corvette is only 60-100 thousand. It's a great car, and I don't even like Chevrolet

well I like both the GT-R and the ZR1, but i do admit, even though the GT-R may or may not have "stolen the engineering" from european companies, at least it has DOHC. I'm not saying it isn't a great car, because I haven't driven either of the two, but it's just...you get the idea.
Did anyone else notice that the timer started at the end of the blue wall (end of the grid straight, @ 0:12), and it stopped right at beginning of the blue wall (beginning of the grid straight, @7:39).....Is that how its supposed to be? Every review I've read in a major magazine or any video review I've seen says just about the same thing about the GT though: Incredible engine, but the car isn't agile, and feels heavy and distant through the corners. It's not my opinion, go read an issue of Road & Track or Car & Driver.

2. you DON'T really want to max out at 205 on this track. (unless you want to fly into a barrier of course... your choice.)
3. that 178 was going on a slightly elevated hill.

well I like both the GT-R and the ZR1, but i do admit, even though the GT-R may or may not have "stolen the engineering" from european companies, at least it has DOHC. I'm not saying it isn't a great car, because I haven't driven either of the two, but it's just...you get the idea.

Did anyone else notice that the timer started at the end of the blue wall (end of the grid straight, @ 0:12), and it stopped right at beginning of the blue wall (beginning of the grid straight, @7:39).....Is that how its supposed to be? ..? Every review of the Ford GT has it handling like a pig. The suspension design is old! The supercharged V8 is great in a straight line, but don't blame me if I'd rather have a 911 for the corners.

No no you misunderstand me completely. I'm American, and I have the utmost respect for American cars, when done properly anyways. Every review I've read in a major magazine or any video review I've seen says just about the same thing about the GT though: Incredible engine, but the car isn't agile, and feels heavy and distant through the corners. It's not my opinion, go read an issue of Road & Track or Car & Driver.

Yeah well I wasn't talking just about a corner. Strait line. Really 7:40 is not a bad time. 7:26 is a great time but the car is no where near the Veyron. ZR1 has cheap interior and its american. So that alone makes it junk. It will just fall apart in a year or two. The Veyron is THE best car ever made!!!

I see now you dont catch sarcasm very well. The Veyron was not made to be record fast around a track. Its for rich people that want to drive very fast and do it in style and comfort. The ZR1 has shitty interior compared to the Veyron. Plus knowing that you have the ability to outrun anything that pulls next to you on the highway. The feat with this car is having all that power and still have the reliablity that the car will do 250MPH over and over and over. ZR1body flops around at its top speed.

GTR Spec-V will EASILY CRUSH the ZR1 April 2009 at the Nurburgring. Not ONLY that, even the BASE 2010 GTR is expected to get 7:25.
GTR Spec-V is expected to get 7:15 to 7:19. The Spec V already broke the the Base GTR record at Sendai Highland Raceway
By 2.37 seconds on one lap. 1:59:51 for the GTR, and 1"57:14 for the spec V.

The arguement about a lack of 'handling' in American cars is weak. America actually had the space to build STRAIGHT roads; where you don't need a F1 car to get from your house to work.
