You missed the point of IRE.
It doesn't preach that every single story needs a half dozen reporters. It doesn't preach that journalists need to forsake their writing style.
The sole mission of IRE is to improve watchdog journalism. That's it. IRE helps mainstream journalists. And it helps bloggers trying to do a better job of covering their local City Hall.
This is a bad thing?
