  • Air force?

  • not pulling the needle out, but retracting it, to get a good flow.. otherwise, you did well

  • TAKE THE TOURNIQUET OFF BEFORE YOU PULL THE NEEDLE OUT!!! OVER 3 MIN, ARE YA TRYING TO KILL HER?

  • I remember my first I/V ......I was nervous but only I knew it. LOL

  • haha "I think you owe me lunch" .....i dont think he got it...but damn dude that girl was freaking hot and sooo beutiful...id like to stick my needle up her vein....you know ..to practice..

  • @andrademeza Ummmm...thanks?

  • Do IV's hurt?

  • @BassBros123 IVs aren't bad - just a pin-prick, then it's over!

  • i got an IV

  • man this teach seems so good, he aint screamin at you if you do anything the tiniest bit wrong T.T wish school teachers were like that

  • @Mrhanzax Join the Air Force - you'll encounter some of the best instructors in the world!

  • great job dude are u a fmf corpsman or hospitol corpsman

  • @25auzzi At the time, he was a med tech in the USAF.

  • haha thats what i did when i was four, but now for my 17th blood draw not any more

  • The volunteer patient female airman looks like the nurse from Being Human. The airman getting the IV was very strong for the hand IV, those can be painful.

  • Hey you going nice! Do you have "love" with her after that?

  • hes a cutie =]

  • Heh - Boss Doc didnt seem impressed when you said "you owe me lunch" or especially when you said "Doesnt feel good" lol. I think he just wanted you to shh and take it. :)

For anyone who is knows they are going for a blood test or into hospital(if not nilBy) sure you at least drink buckets of water and if poss eat properly (not junk). Your blood pressure will be better, the veins will easier to locate and it will hurt less. During-deep breaths and slow exhale and focus on something surreal.

  • I work security at my college, and whenever they are having a phelebotomy class I always get dragged in and get to be a human pincushion.

  • he was distracted. You're incredibly beautiful ;D

  • @mrbulletproof100 Thanks. : )

  • If you were the girl in this video you are freaking gorgeous!!!

  • @gmh2115 Thanks. : )

  • Something my dad also told me was that if you ever need an iv, but are nervous about it hurting, ask them to do it somewhere other than the back of your hand. It's easier to access the veins there, but it hurts alot more than if they did it farther up. This is said hoping no one needs an iv of course but you never know :)

  • My dads a paramedic (pcp -iv) and I remember him coming home one day from an iv course with both of his forearms just black and blue and swollen. I can't remember how many times they sticked him but it was alot, and apparently sometimes they had to "fish around" for the vein. Nasty.

  • I heard that the back of the hand or foot hurts a lot more, what do you think?

  • hot girls in uniform, some blood and a shit load of needles. This is like all of my fetishes wrapped into one

  • @WhyYouJelly eeew your creepy!!

  • @LovelyLilDevilWings That's what she said.

  • Was that the first time he had done that? Good job :)

  • Great teacher and learning area. Thanks for serving. God Bless

  • let me take you on a date ???? lol

  • I believe that you are one sexy lady in uniform!

  • @CTJ420 Thanks. : )

  • Omg, he is sexxxxxyyy!

  • You're braver than I am!

It's certainly not comforting when he's asking "So I what with this? And then attach that right?"

  • SHES A HOT BLOND

  • @teamreckdjipod Thanks. : )

  • @refiningsilver your welcome :)

  • WOW SHES REAL CUTE.

  • @teamreckdjipod Thanks. : )

  • why do they tie those blue things around your arm?

  • @tiger242027 It's a "tourniquet". It's a rubber strap that comes in multiple colors. It is applied tightly and this increases the pressure below where the tourniquet is applied. This makes the veins pop up so it's easier to stick them successfully.

  • I'm in the army and I've lost more than my brother. But that has no relevance to this video lol

  • i've been getting blood tranfusions and I.Vs Since i was 3. Still thriving and im currently 12. im going to get mt next blood check in november they may have to do I.V also. but im very used to it. the turniquet shouldve came off as soon as the Needle Went in and the blood started to flow a little bit. she wouldnt have had the blood squirt out. but other then that he did a great job i wouldve let him to my IV,

  • dear military, please stop hogging all the hotties and save some for the gp. thanks

  • @seemeownyou The Air Force is full of beautiful women - not a bad place to serve your country! Join up! ; )

  • doas it hurt more in the hand or in the arm?

  • @WoodGrainMayne hand

  • im in the army and lost my brother

  • @TheHolford - I'm sorry for your family's loss. I appreciate your service and his ultimate sacrifice.

  • @TheHolford i am soooo sorry for your loss we really appritate your service stay safe

  • ouch thas a very bad iv catether

  • Airforce.....lol

  • Great job with the video and training. And thank you for serving. God Bless and Stay safe!

  • Damn, he is hot. So did he take you out to lunch or was your request all in "vein" ?

  • @jacquesjapan BA DOOM PSSSSH!

  • this is a great learning video before signing up. thx!

  • after he gets the IV in he should've popped the tourniquet off before attching to tubing.... she wouldn't have bled near that much!

  • I think he did a good job and cause i cant do that so ya

  • Hurts more in the hand, more vascular valves as well. Better to pick out a good radial/arm vein for better stabilization of the cathater, & in case you have a patient that starts going South on you & you need to hook up a bag, you can run in volume faster to do the hemostasis thing.

  • can you choose to do in hand or arm?

  • Yup, better to start at the hand & work your way up in case you blow the vein.

  • @coolguy125 no! medics yes but cls no hands. its just advice though i would never do someone's hand

  • Isnt he a little high ranking to only now be learning to do an IV?

  • that guy can give me an IV anytime...he's hot!

  • I am the one that is afraid of needles. Every time I see a needle, I start to flip out. One time I was in an ambulance and they wanted to give me an IV. I said no, and they tried to do it anyway. So I started fighting them.

  • Do you have any advice for someone who is scared of needles?

  • If you get the person to think about something else by making them laugh or talking about something (other than the fact you're about to stick a needle in them) it'll reduce their anxiety level.

  • @refiningsilver this procedure was suspended as of 20090901 wasn't it? in a cls class?

  • @refiningsilver: Distraction almost always works - even on the extreme hemophobes. :-)

  • @ButlerEMT7 number 1 reason ppl pass out is bc they hold their breath and dont realize they are doing it. focus on ur breathing and you will be in the clear.

  • I would have hit the floor, I can't stand my own blood. Other peoples sure my own hell no

  • if she passed out, she would be mine.

    hey let me try

  • i woulda tottally taken that lunch date haha im actually going to be a 68W. i cant waitt

  • He definitely left the band on too long.

  • i wouldve accepted the offer for lunch lol xD

  • Bleeder my ass. LOL. You couldn't fill a shot glass with that. I bled enough today to fill a shot glass for sure from the 2 IVs I received. The one I gave was pretty clean, but blood is normal...especially Army IVs.

  • you wanna cookie?

  • Normally large amounts of bloodloss.. they give you cookies... and orange juice

  • this isn't army

    it's airforce

    hollyy

  • So you ever hook up with that dude, seems like u 2 were digging eachother.

  • Give it a twist?? ick ;p

  • This brings back memories of The Combat Life Saver Class. I took a few years back. I just barely got through. Late last year I was retired from the Navy due to injuries I received in operation Iraqi Freedom (not due to enemy action). I would like to be able to say that a CSL saved my life but beleive it or not it was a Hajji Bus driver who saw me have to jump over a concrete wall to avoid a hit. He stopped and took me to the nearest combat hospital before my unit knew I was down. God bless him!

  • I just finished CLS today. Finish it off with IV's. What a day. Hadn't done this (other than today) since BCT back in the first few months of this year.

    It was fun though.

Giving an IV is actually tougher for me than applying a tourniquet or applying dressing to a major wound. LOL.

  • Ten out of ten for being brave

  • "I think you owe me lunch"

Shoot yeah! I would have taken that offer in a heartbeat. Anyways, USAF, Hooah. EAD in August!

  • This is Airforce right? The uniforms / boots.

Im shipping out for Army bct end of may, then AIT in Texas, mos 68w Human Healthcare specialists(medic).

  • i know that your knees have some blood!!! can't lie to me!

  • It was my blood that was spilt, and I can assure you, it didn't hit the carpet - or his knees! This was just a practice run, not on 'real' patients... No harm, no foul!

  • you need to button your sleeves!!!!!!!!! and tooooooooooo closed to the blood!!!! ok!!!!

  • why are your knees on the floor???????????? hhmmmm... aaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh you're driving me crazy!

  • My first IV was an actual patient while in nursing school in the hospital. I always got asked back. You know, it serves one well knowing how to do IV's. I even got to work with the house nurse. A no miss, first time everytime clinician is worth millions. I think the man did good. A+ *****

  • (place unimaginative "I hate needles, you're hot" comment here)

  • ugh, ouch, props for doing that, haha your awesome "now you have to buy me lunch" that was great. I hope people have as much patience with me when I learn as you did with him although he probably beat himself up over it later, lol, nice vid, great job :)

  • HOT massachist!

  • we do similar stuff in army cls classes....bunch of newbies with needles good stuff

  • damn that takes guts! thats awesome

  • thanks for serving! i don't think i could EVER do that ouchy

  • I never use a tourniquette. I just got in the habit of never using one.

  • ahh! je vais m'évanouir!je le sens!

  • The constricting band that high for a stick in the hand??? Before withdrawing the needle, pop the constricting band. I know that practice makes perfect but there were lots of errors... This should be a video for what not to do.

  • Practice makes perfect - everybody's got to start somewhere, right?! There's always a lesson to be learned... I learned to quit volunteering! ; )

  • I bet you'd volunteer for an army medic ;)

  • Yup, I'm a sucker! I'd trust ya even more if you crossed into the blue! ; P

  • Hey now, gimme a break. It'd been about 3 years since I'd last started an IV. And for what it's worth, I'd had 40 oz of black SBUX coffee, no breakfast, and had a crowd (and camera) watching me! :P At least I hit it on the first try and didn't blow your vein -- did I?
