  • are those uv lights in there? if so where did you get themm im building a cage similar and having a hell of a time finding lighting!

  • Did you do anything special to the wood inside the enclose such as stain or seal it? Do you plug each individual light in from each cage? How do you heat each cage?

  • How much is the plexiglass for a piece like the large one?

  • @mehartsnakes75 try feeding him at night and see if that works

  • @mehartsnakes75 feed your ball live mice for two or three weeks and then try frozen that worked for me had trouble at first with her not wanting frozen then I tried this and it worked find. like if u had no trouble with this

  • @fathamster1237 i tried that...... actually i think i have tried everything! i am not gonna feed him live cuz it costs more and i have 2 go 2 the store everytime to get it, i even make sure all the stuff he has is clean and his bedding is changed often, his temp and humid. is right i just dont know what 2 do

  • Nice cage!

  • Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • y dont u make anymore vids...... i hav a young ball python who wont eat frozen mice he just totally ignores it how can i fix that?

  • Pray your reptiles dont get mites it would be a mitemare

  • nice guitar

  • dont open it shit head scared the fuck out of me if theres anything in there

  • how do you keep the humidity from ruining/ molding the wood??

  • DUde awesome idea for the doors. I am building one now and I am stealing your idea. lol With very little finishing work you could put that in a store. Very nice job!

Thanks for the idea!! I will post vids of my cage when its done.. Its not as big (only two tall but check it out when I post it.

  • What kind of plywood did u use

  • Great display cabnets good work on the doors

  • Only recommendation would be sand the plexiglass that should make it slide easier and look better. With all my cages/enclosures I am bothered by the small things like that . Great job though

  • i had a corn snake that went missing for 3 weeks my neigbour found it in her shed.

  • damn that would be a bitch to clean. looks very nice though

  • I was wondering if u ever did a white bored diagram for the cage...im pretty sure I can make this just from seeing ur videos but I just wanted to know all the details on how u made everything...thanks..

  • How do you provide heat and humidity to a cage like that?

  • @AmsterdamFire321

Check out my heating and humidity videos haha

  • very cool.great ideal.

  • a w e s o m e !

  • hey just wondering, the actual wooden frame ill call it that you use to house your reptiles, did you build it or is it purchased? also, what do you use in terms of lighting/heating. because it doesnt look like you can fit a lamp into most any place in there? all in all im very impressed and looking to design one of my own similar to yours!

  • @enjoilogic14 i built everything myself. i have a few videos about how i heat and light each of my cages just check out my page.

  • i wanna build one of these furnitures do you have plans or blueprints ;]? can you email me?

  • hey man i was just wandering if you can do a update on your snakes and stuff? That would be great I LOVE snakes but i cant have one because my stepmom HATES them lol and so i will have to wait 5 YEARS lol but over the summers i will be building cages like yours (or atleast try) lol but btw nice setup man. keep up the good work!

  • can someone explain to me what plexi glass is? is it really glass or just transperant plastic? if its glass how would you cut it?

  • @tteezzrreell From what I've been told, it's just transparent plastic. It's also relatively lighter than real glass and cuts pretty easily. As does real glass.

  • @tteezzrreell plexiglass is a much more reliable alternative to real glass. plexi is a generic term for a whole host of polymers of plastic from optix acrylic to a heat treated clear ceramic. i use acrylic plexi it is durable and easy to cut with a skill saw, or scoring with a razor blade and breaking leaves a cleaner edge. i used 1/8 inch for extra security but anything will work fine.

  • @tteezzrreell it is plastic that u need to cut with a fine jigsaw blade

  • Coolllllllllllll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Never seen something like that!!!One suggestion, for the pins.Have you ever seen a ballistic knife? The pins on them, stop the spring exactly how this stops the glass. But the pins on a ballistic knife, has a keyring kind of thing, you may want to do that with this so it is easier to pull out :)

  • how do u heat ur cages bc im gonna build something kind of similar to that but im gonna use hinges and either one or two locks depending on if theres any flex with the set up i was looking into the heat pads but im not sure if the wood would make a difference any1 could help that b great

  • im building a similiar cage for my collection :D

  • that must have cost alot.................. i only have 16$ im getting nowere

  • does it work for bearded dragons to

  • Nice cage! Looks pretty professional.

  • were was ur ball python hiding???

  • how much is plexy glass

  • nice:D

  • Looks real nice.. U did a wonderful job!

  • this is sweet man, how long does it take to clean? aprox

I work at a reptile shop and have exp for about 5 years..i was thinking of finally building my own shelf cages

  • Awesome set up =)

  • Great set up. Are you using reptile bulbs for lighting, or just regular fluorescent?

Also, are you using heat mats or CHE?

  • Can I ask how you light/heat each of those homemade cages?

  • Great tank setup. I loved your lightning setup. Quick question: What do you do for heating? I hate using lamps because they dry out the bedding too much, and my room is too large for a space heater to maintain a solid 85 degrees. Any suggestions? I'm using a single 55 gallon plexiglass tank and i've recently converted from coconut husk to 100% cyprus bedding. I'm looking for any suggestions to help maintain humidity.

  • how much did it cost to make th whole cage setup

  • do you have any other reptiles except snakes? if so, do you think that your door system would work with an adult iguana. i am building mine a new enclosure and cant figure out how to do the doors. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • dude thats sweet, im trying to make something like that, but i have no clue what im doing

  • Gave me some really good ideas thanks mate!

  • Nicely Done Man

  • do u want to build me a cage i am thinking of getting a corn snake my first one but i am not buy vivarium £ 75 so fuck that

  • how you made i realy want to know

  • how did you do your lighting/heating for the cages?

  • hey man how do you heat your tanks. plese get back to me

  • hey man really love you enclosure. i was considering building one myself so i do havee a few questions. how are you heating all of the tanks, how big is the whole enclosure, how much did it roughly cost to build?

  • what width Plexiglas did you use

  • there cute

  • do you heat with just lights or heat mats as well?

  • do you just heat with lights or mats as well?

  • love how the cages look i need to do something like this instead of having 30tanks scaterd all around the house

  • Is it good for a leopard gecko to live in a wooden tank

  • @Geckosz it would be fine for it to live in a wooden tank

  • make more vids how u do the heating and lighting

  • im in the process of making my ball python a new cage. but i didnt know how to do the door ive seen different methods and yours is really easy to do... and it'll safe me alot of money

  • how do you cut pexi glass?? cuz im thinking about making cages but it seems cheaper to buy a cage.. so idk you tell me whats easier or better please

  • I am confused im currently building my ball python cage and it is all wood with just a glass door now were should i put the heat pad for her?

  • Would birch wood be fine? And what size wood did you buy?

  • what kind of lighting do you use for each seperate enclosure

  • your house is very trashed

  • um how did u make the notch thing so that the plexy glass can slide

  • @cornsnakeguy

i bought it that way its just moulding from home depot :)

  • @jessicad318 how big is this.im thinking of making a 16 inch by 34 inch by 12inch for my leo's

  • @cornsnakeguy

i bought it that way its just molding from home depot :)

  • @jessicad318 what was it called because i am looking for one

  • just a suggestion, but you mentioned that in the back of the enclosures there a gap at the top where baby corns can get out, why not just silicone it? that way you can seal the gap so no moisture can get in between and rot the wood and also you wont have anymore problems with escapees! two birds with one stone.

  • nice tanks can i ask what type of lighting or heating do you use for your snakes

  • This is prob the best cage ive seen so far. I wish I had the skills to figure out how to build one

  • OMG...why do Americans explain so much??

Seriously...do you think everyone is stupid?

Props to concise and interesting videos.

  • explaining everything solves possible miscommunication. if you have a problem with the way we do things stay off our sites. you dont have to look here. we like the way we do what we do.

  • i wou;d never thought of that!!!!!good job!!!

i think about this when i build my aft gecko!!

  • i am planning to build a similar cage system for my redtails and trying to figure out how i want to do the doors. I like your system but will it hold adult redtails? I think it should do better than the latch type.

  • @knglee3rd oh yea no problem. i used 1/8'' plexi glass if you have really large red tails just use 1/4" plexi glass you will have no problems look at my updated video and instead of just using nails use finish nails and gorilla glue and you will have no problem at all

  • hi i was wondering if u could tell me the name of the name of the water proofing agent you used and were to buy it

  • @coheed43

i dont remember the name ( i built this 2 years ago) but i got it at home depot and it was just a clear deck water proofer

  • thank you very much for all the compliments on my designs. i designed a complicated air circulation system using computer fans and metal vents but never actually went through with it. i open each cage everyday to interact with my animals (holding feeding cleaning, etc. so air circulation is not an issue. if you are not opening your cages very often i would recommend using small vents on the sides of each cage. you can find a whole array of vents plastic, wood ,metal, everything at home depot.

  • Really Nice Work! I do have a snake question. Regarding air circulation, is there a way for air to circulate in this fine piece of workmanship?

  • Hi...

Thank you for sharing your video....really appreciate it!!

My only concern is...I read that wood is not the best material the cage should be made from.....is that true??....Let me tell you what you think from your experience!!

  • @robyr77

thank you for your concern. i used two coats of a water proofing agent on my enclosures so the interior of the cages feels more like a gymnasium floor. if you were using un-treated wood you would run into all sorts of problems but if treated correctly wood makes a great alternative to plastic or glass. provided you have the right wood working tools. so in other words yes there are more suitable materials but they are much more pricey and if treated correctly wood works great :)

  • You should try and put some teflon around the edges of the glass so it slides easy. Teflon is a nonstick product that would keep it from catching or getting stuck when sliding, just in case you didnt know what it was. Dupont makes it as a paint on application.

  • how did u keep the middle lamps on in looks there is no room for them?

  • thank you

im building a snake tank for my 8' 4'' red tail boa and the idea for the doors is great i cant thank you enough

  • cool!

  • how much did all this cost?

  • how did you do the lighting ?

  • Why Dont you use expanding foam for the cracks in the cages its like 7 bucks at any hard wear store

  • what are the measurements on your enclosure set up

  • bout how much did this run you?

  • hey i was planning to make a cage for my boa and was wondering what kinfd of wood do you use?

  • wow nice slide in/out glass and great enclosures!!

  • @Monkeypinecone58 i use modified rubbermaid storage containers most of the time

  • I'm not sure if this issue has been addressed yet, but one problem I've faced in my attempts to blueprint stackable vivariums is the spacing between cages to house the heat lamps (and avoiding a possible firehazard). Is there some way you could show the back of your setup, if it's not bolted in, or somehow explain it? This is one of the most intricate videos I've come across that suit my preferences in vivariums--thanks for the information. <3

  • @JamieMcElroy90 hey everyone thanks for the great comments! i broke my new nikon i used to make this video and decided to screw youtube for a while lol but im back in buisness and im going to make some videos to help everyone understand my designs.

  • You should build me one

  • MAKE MORE VIDS!!!!!!!

  • @reptilemad43 i just got another camera so they're on the way haha

  • DUDE that sliding door is fuckin bad ass

  • Hey there! I love the cage you built. I noticed that you had an issue with pine chips getting stuck in the track. You could take a 1-2 inch strip of plexiglass the width of the enclosure and stand it on it's edge close to the door and secure it. It keeps the chips back and doesn't interfere with viewing or anything else. Great job on the cage man.

  • @TheCaptainSmudge

thank you! thats a great idea! i added a misting system that ill do a video on!

  • thats a sick setup dude and who cares about the imperfections i just think thats awesome that you built that yourself

  • hey does they BITE ??

and u have very orgnaizate cages very COOL :-)

  • at 3.03 i thought a snake had escaped and was on the ground lol!

  • hi their.. im from the uk and have designed a similar project for the garage. its a detached garage and gets cold so i have to fully customise my build to cater for temperature. i am moving to a smaller house with no room for the size tank i require for my 6/12 ft Rat snake and my nearly7ft Macklots python. i also have several Tarantulas. its going to be a challenge but also fun. GREAT job on the enclosure, you have persuaded me to keep the wood a natural colour. once again great job.thanks..

  • Kewl video and making the doors like that works great. I have my Carpets winter enclosure set up like that that I made for him. I did cover the glass edges so I didn't catch him or myself on them though. Just put some clear packaging tape along the edges. The enclosures look great!!! Thumbs up!!

  • I was driving down the road today thinking about building a custom cage and trying to figure out how I wanted to do the door. I thought of this very idea and decided to do a search. I assumed someone had thought of this before me and low and behold I found your video. Are these still working out well for you? They look great. I was thinking about spending a bit more and putting tempered glass in.

  • u r very talented nice work

  • great tanks mate

  • cooooolll

  • Where'd you buy all the wood panels and plexiglass at? What size is that wood in thickness? 1/4 inch or 1/2 inch? That enclosure looks great, I want to build something like that but for to lizards..

  • Awesome enclosure! Helps me alot with ideas. Now i have direction for building a cage for my 8ft female coastal carpet python.

  • how did you cut the plexiglass?

  • i wanna make a cage for my ball python wot type of should i use also how big should cage be for 1 that will last hes whole life

  • very nicely done. I like it and cant wait to build one for my babies. What type of heat mats do you use for your snakes?

  • Did u make it if u did can u make a vid on how to make one

  • This is great!

  • can u send me the plans for this cage i really like what u've done with it.

  • Isnt it hard to clean being so low and all.

  • Hi! Great cage! What did you use to get the germ ex too stay on the wall? Do you happen to know how to make a arboreal cage 'cause i have a chinese water dragon and hes only 13 inches but i hope to when hes big to build him a cage. But if you know how too then please reply, i'm a pretty good builder. Great video!

  • what size is that

  • could that work for bearded dragons

  • Could i ask you question, what sort of waterprofing should i use to treat the wood of my homemade viv?

  • i like the hand sanitizer on the side lol

  • at 3:02 i thought that was like a live giant milk snake. i was like WHOAH!!! and then i was like... facepalm

  • Nice Job. Looks good.

  • How did you heat/light your cages? thanks

  • hehyy i want to get a baby cornsnake but the only problem is that my mom HATES snakes and im sooo mad cuz literaly snakes are my lifee cld u give me the positive advice 2 talk 2 herr bout thx

  • wat kind of wood is safe for a snake cage? and what kind of sealent can you use please reply thanks

  • nice looking setup. well made

  • your corn snake is awesome

  • how big is the enclouser on the top an could it fit a full grown red tail boa?

  • It looks awesome very innovative with the doors.

  • and all together how much did it cost

  • did u make that out of a dresser or something

  • no? i built it from scratch and read the comments below lol under $300

  • how do you heat your rack cause I would like to build something like this

  • I added it all up and I would be able to re build this enclosure for under $300 that's lights heat mats and everything

  • @jessicad318 Could i ask you question, what sort of waterprofing should i use to treat the wood of my homemade viv?

  • what type of water repellant did you use? and how do you heat? cages look good....im trying to decide if i want to build or buy.....

  • make a video on ur animals like geting them out nd stuff :)

  • how do you make the front of the cage like that with the hole did you cute the holes out please emailback thanks john

  • its a 4x8 sheet of plywood that i just cut out using a skill saw. i would recommend using a scroll saw much better turn out

  • i think thats a much better idea

  • Wow!! I Like It!! Sweet Job 5/5

  • I think that it was a great vid! keep it up!

  • Great setup i comented on tou privious video and I like the modifications. How much would you say the total project cost you and how much time was spent? Looking to do something similar but after considering all the labor it would be for an inexperienced carpenter, wondering if I should just buy it. Also what is the lining of the cage floor made of? Considering the maintanence.

  • im probably around $500 into it by now and that is the materials and up keep over three years including two seperate designs of doors and the materials for them. the wood is all treated before construction with a water repealant so the up keep is very simple

  • Really awesome idea and great looking cages !!

  • Thats really nice im getting a 3 stack viv rack.. hosuld be good:)

  • nice setup 5*s you should do a reptile update of all of them

  • nicely done

  • great setup

  • awesome idea.
