the best show in the history of tv!!! it nearly got cancelled because of ratings shame that a lot of people dont get the show but then again a lot of people prob wont get it for about 20 years. WHAT DO YOU HEAR STARBUCK?
@davidcrotty82 short sighted producers! it's just like music, the money is in the sales, I'm a newcomer to BSG and I think it's frakking awesome! and I liked Caprica a lot too.
" Watchtower "'s got some Biblical allusions that were hinted at all throughout the last season of the series. Not pushing any religion or particular view, just making an honest, subjective observation.
You wouldn't believe how many fans of the Original Galactica are either indifferent about the re - imagined BSG, or else they just plain LOATHE it. It treads on " sacred ground " or something. Or else they just like explosions, space wars or fancy space ships.
my brother is one of them!!!! He calls it a bullshit soap opera and stubbornly refuses to watch even a minute of it. Let's face it the old Battlestar show was a completely different thing....not even in the same league
I hear that they're planning another remake along the same lines as the Original series for some reason. Marc Singer would produce or direct. This would mean a return to the disco look of the 70's - 80's in space, Cylon centurions who are as efficient as Larry, Moe & Curly at hitting targets, capes for the bridge officers, laser guns, terms like " Centon ", " Yahren ", " sectar ", " cubit "..... & DAGGITS !! WHY ? Gimme a break.....
The original BSG is an ugly show, full of re-makings, many parts which are decidedly uncanonical, something like 4 attempted revivals before this amazing series, and many other problems. I think the stubborn original creator is STILL pushing for his series in its orignality to be remade into a movie, which will look crappy and disappointing against this more advanced and brilliant series
Yes - It was largely dependent on the influence of Star wars - Centurions as Imperial Storm Troopers, IL - Series Cylons as effeminate knock - offs of C3 - PO dressed in Librace's cast - offs, the only thing missing was X - wing fighters & Death Star.
I'm surprised George Lucas didn't win a lawsuit against Glen Larson. Richard Hatch was pushing for HIS own remake, so they threw him a bone & gave him a role on RDM's version.
@knoxvilleguy2 Lucas probably didn't sue because he wouldn't want to get sued himself. Star Wars 'borrowed' many (and I do mean MANY) of it's elements from 'Dune'.
Since Bear had 2 Battlestar Galactica concerts in LA about 1 month ago I bet this one of the 2 shows he put on. Many members of the cast were present at the concert also.
Frakin awesome.
SO SAY WE ALL!
(well, except four, they were Cylons)

& original BSG was a product of the 70's, too.

@Fretslayer makes sense to me ! He also borrowed ideas from the old Flash Gordon, Buck Rogers, John Carter, Warlord of Mars, etc.

if I could turn back time
if I could find a way
I'd take back those words that hurt you
and you'd stay.
If I could reach the stars,
I'd give them all to you
Then you'd love me, love me, like you used to do.

ShadowissoAwesome 3 years ago
It was a Bob Dylan song originally, but the most well known version of this song is by Jimi Hendrix.
Seraph8376 2 years ago
Also a version by DMB that's pretty good.
