@aruhazadosan Thanks for the kind words, I appreciate the comment. Good to know you're enjoying the videos! I'll have "I Will" posted very soon, and should have "The Night Before" at some point. Good songs. Your English is very good, by the way!
@Shimzu333 The older videos were recorded in mono. If you adjust your computer's main audio balance control tab to the center (or all the way to the other side), you'll hear the sound. Sorry about that.
Piano John, I love how you can teach me a song in 1 day that will only get better over time the more I play it, You have a bright and cheery, cool, nonchalant way of teaching, its fresh and its awesome. You should be awarded some category on youtube for best musical instructional videos even though there are so many wonderful teachers in many other instruments. You really brighten my day :) If you are ever in Toronto there's a couple pints of beer waiting for you at the piano bar of your choice!
"now for ssnnnnobody wants to know himmmmm.... I forgets the words, sorry." TOO MUCH FUN!! great job man, what a useful tutorial! by the way, why don't you make a video where you sing?? in every your tutorial I always try to isolate your voice but it's too lower! and i think it is a good voice!
@pianojohn113 mccartney plays only chords and avoids to define the bass notes on that tune - listen to it, the song has no bass notes,
(i don´t wanna bewise you, i admire your style, i just see that you are into authenticity when it comes to analysing the song structure!) we all make mistakes do we...
btw i discovered a little mistake (you admit it anyway) on the mccartney part in "day in a life", but the comments get blocked there (a day in a life part 2) - why??
@MoveOverCasanova Well, actually there are bass notes in this song, especially notable on the em7 chord where the D in the bass gives it the unique "flavor." You can hear them really well on his solo piano performance on the Anthology album too. He plays the piano bass the same way he plays the guitar bass. On "A Day in the Life," as far as I know the comments are still active.. were you unable to comment?
it would help alot if whenever you are playing a chord you had the text notes at the top the whole time and when you go back to them that would be awesome
Thank you so much John. I have always wanted to learn to play and sing some of these songs. Thank you so much much for taking the time to do this. I really appreciate it.
Such powerful and beautiful chords!! :D Thank you so much!! I love playing this fun song!!!! Now if I can only get the sheet music for the flute accompaniment for my friend and we would be set! :)
thanks so much im starting the piano and a huge beatles fan so im trying to learn alot, try and go a little more slow and show all the notes for me and any other beginner. thank you =)
hey john love your lessons. they've helped me alot. When you get the chance It'd be great if you did more post beatles mccartney songs like live and let die, nineteen hundred and eighty five etc. and also all by myself by eric carmen would be a great one too. cheers and keep up the good work!
hm, i have a question...what if i'd like to play the melody instead of singing it? if i play the chords of the right hand on the left, and the melody on the right hand, would it sound OK all the same? (i cant try this yet since i'm in college and the keyboard is at home!)
@BlagakhsandiEllTesro Yes, you can do it that way, although chords that are played too low in the left hand can sound a bit muddy. If you play everything an octave higher than what I show on this video, then you can play the chords in the left and the melody in the right, and it should sound just fine.
@15782157 The chord is inverted when the root note is moved up or down one octave. So on a C major chord, which is C-E-G, if you invert it once, you have E-G-C. The second inversion is G-C-E. It's just mixing up the notes in the triad.
This video helped me out a ton except around the part of "...and nobody wants to know him" I'm not sure what part of the chord to keep moving 'cause it doesn't seem to mesh, but otherwise the video is fantastic ! ^_^
I have been watching this video and taking notes and trying to understand the chords and stuff. Oh god - brutal. And then I go and play the D6 on my piano and , just that chord, and everything is worth it. Thanks John. You are the best.
It's been a blast and i cant tell you enough how much i appreciate the work you do. I know at least 20 of your songs by now. Thanks so much. P.S- She's leaving home is the most fun ive ever had on piano. The fills are really something special.
John, i just wanted to let you know how much ive been enjoying your videos this week. Ive been following you since sometime around march, when i first began to learn piano. I slowly learned a few of your easier songs, but in the past month ive finally hit the skill level i need for these songs or something. Just this week, I have conquered Fool on the Hill, Penny Lane, She's leaving home, Goodnight, Here, There, and Everywhere, Hey Jude, and even Honey Pie.
Thanks, glad you liked it! I just place the camera and mic stand about four feet above the keys, and I leave the piano cover open in "half position." That seems to provide the best sound quality.
hey man i like youre videos the've help me a lot an i like to play some songs of john lenon they're: jealous guy .nobody told me. and mother of john lenon

Good evening.
Thank you for teaching me how to play the songs of THE BEATLES!!
I'm a Japanese junior high school student. So my English isn't good. I'm sorry.
Your teaching is so kind and so polite!! So it didn't take a lot of time to be able to perform.
Could you show me how to play “ I will " and “ The night before" too?
I want to know it,if you can!!
I appreciated you very much.

I can read music, but if you want to learn that, you won't get it very well from a video.

Great tutorial for a great song!
I know your song request list is temporarly closed, I just wonder if the mighty "Strawberry Fields Forever" is on it... :-) I hope it is.
Cheers and once again congratulations for your work!

Thanks! "Strawberry Fields" has been on there for a while, so I really do need to get to it.

Beautiful!!! Welcome back, the wait was well worth it. I love all the new ones. I hesitate to make other suggestions as you have just put in HOURS of work for us, so perhaps a simple Thank You will suffice.

As always, glad to do it.. It took longer than I thought it would this time, but it's a good excuse to get a new camera! :-)
