  • I enjoy that after he stands up, with 600 lbs on his back, he kind of looks at the weight and considers it and nods his head casually. Seemingly saying, welp that was pretty easy.

  • NICE

  • Broz, I'm coming back from a lower back injury, I've noticed that at the bottom of the squat the left side of my ass is lower than my right and I don't remember it being like that before. Is this something you see often, if not what is likely to be the cause? My legs are equal length so leg length discrepancy is not the problem. Any advice would be appreciated.

  • isnt the bar a bit low?

  • Why did rob adell go down so slow? Its kind of odd because don't most olympic lifters train for explosiveness?

  • What's the name of this song in the backround?

  • @trickyrickysticky something from journey

  • @trickyrickysticky That's Separate Ways (Worlds Apart) by Journey

  • His sticking point is less sticky than most

  • real good lift man. damn impressive

  • Listen to that music! Haha thats awesome. Thanks for the reply on the other post, you guys are great. Best wishes to you and all your lifters. You guys are reaching out to so many people, your gym may one day be known as the turning point for Olympic Lifting in the U.S.A.

  • @stowe89ify thanks for watching. I hope so, that's the plan.

  • John what shoes would you recommend for a lifter with wide feet? I've read that most of the adidas models fit narrow, is there a specific one that has a wider toe box?

  • @meawk they stretch out. we all had issues at first, but they fit great after a few days. The white adistar run about 1/2 size big.

  • Haha, I love how the bar bounces up and down at the end of it, it really helps you appreciate the effort put into this. Great job! Keep it up.

  • @BROZKNOWS

Do you have any guys training only a few days a week (work school etc getting in the way)? Do they squat with similar programming to the guys who go every day? WWJBD to get someone to get their squat up in this case?

asking because all these 3 day/wk programs with 'medium, light, heavy' programming feel too easy and aren't yielding much progress.

  • Why did pat get injured? :o

  • these vids are fantastic shows what can be accomplished through hard work, i have a question for you coach broz, in your opinion which style of squat (low bar or high bar) is better for building pure strength (regardless of weightlifting specificity), also would someone be able to squat daily with the low bar squat like you guys do with the high bar squat? thanks

  • @almaow18 imo, high is better because further range of motion = more work.

  • How long does an average workout of yours last? I saw you say on the latest squat video of Josh that he had been at it for 4 hours..

  • @fackshaitcrazy usually about 6-7 hours daily total.

  • @BROZKNOWS Do they get much sleep? Balancing all that workout with school and/or a job which need 8 hours or so each day, hours of cooking (I guess) and a social life seems almost impossible. Do powernaps help them?

  • @fackshaitcrazy naps are essential. social life? what's that?

  • @BROZKNOWS

Most of the people I know in my age group who talk about their "social lives" usually use the phrase as a euphemism for "getting shit-faced with other alcoholics".

  • @fackshaitcrazy yeah echoing what Broz said- Not that im on their level- but I train 2x a day as well, and can't emphasize enough just how little one begins to care about a social life when working like this. All i want to do is eat, nap, and lay down.

  • @JNFreije It seems that when you're 18 years old, hanging out with friends, drinking in the weekends, not being too serious about anything and that the "no problem, things will work out without you doing anything"-attitude is something that is expected of you, if you know what I mean :-/

  • What's a typical squat for a 94kg guy doing 180/220 in competition?

  • @mmamilano Varies, but I would say at least high 200's, possibly low 3's.

  • looking strong! how much is hes best front squat?? just wanna know because iam same weightclass.. :)

  • @MaximFIN88 235

  • Broz I'm 16, body weight 147, squat max: 300, that's pretty good to me, but it took me a long time to get there. I want to know how do you lifters get stronger so fast? What are some their daily workouts?

  • @Damexicanguy310 We squat daily. Don't worry - keep training hard and in the next year or two you are going to make massive gains. Don't be surprised when you start going up 5 pounds a workout.

  • @BROZKNOWS How many times a week does these big guys do heavy squats? And how long does it take to get used to it that much. I'm a sprinter, and I'm used to high intensity training. However 2 squat sessions a week feels like my max. Is it me just bitching, or how should I know when I can increase the ammount workout days. As I can imagine these guys are so much more used to this typ of workout than I am, that's why I'm asking.

    Appreciate your work man!

  • Whenever i go deep in the bottom position of a squat, my hip flexors really hurt. How can i make them more flexible?

  • @linkjmf keep squatting. It will get better.

  • hahahaha does he have a hole in his sweatpants

  • @chomuffins Yes . It's ventilation for his massive balls .

  • Think he'll ever squat 700?

  • @mmamilano yes

  • whenever I watch these vids....im just lost for words. this is real lifting.

  • im doing the 5x5 program to try improve my lifts especially my squats.do you recommend this program or something else?cheers...

  • Broz what do you do with your powerlifters who get elbow pain?

  • I remember you saying in a different video that the calves take a beating from deep, "bouncy" squatting, and its completely true, my calves are fucking killing me. Is there anything you guys do that helps? like aleve, or just tough it out?

  • @altrocksnp lol. calf-itis sucks big time. try both of those, but also add ice immediately after training. When your flexibility improves, it will go away.

  • @BROZKNOWS

    Thanks for the advice!

  • @BROZKNOWS Hey Broz:

    Squat's plunging (~15kg).

    Deadlift's rising.

    Bench is staying put.

    Calorie intake is normal.

Added a little tiny bit of cardio.

The hell is going on, and what do I do?

  • @RandomStevie cardio? come on man...

  • @BROZKNOWS There's no way of getting out of it Broz, my track coach is an evil bastard. Is there someway to counteract it? I'm trying to increase my volume as well, but it's doing no good.

  • @RandomStevie ask to switch your "cardio" (I hope it's really aerobic conditioning because we all know that lifting weights trains your cardio/heart) to use some sort of UBE, or do squats for sets of 50

  • @RandomStevie Stevie how far do you throw?

  • @BROZKNOWS this is only 10kg from his pb am i right?.....btw on that 282,5 kg squat he looked liked he could do atleast 300kg.....why didnt he continue the day after maxing.....injuries?

  • @messifcb1998 At that point in his training he had a serious wrist injury and a slight shoulder dislocation that were healing from football. So the only thing we concentrated on were squats, which allowed some big numbers. Soon after that video we started back to doing the classic lifts. His pr is 285.

  • @Sully1111 Biochemist / pre-med. He does 2x day 4 days, 1x/day 3 day.

  • @BROZKNOWS If this is referring to Rob, then he's going to make some future girlfriend's brother feel like shit.... I can just hear it at the dinner table, "So Rob what are some of your interests?" "Well, I played football in undergrad, then trained for the olympics during med school. Now I'm a doctor."

  • Is Adell a bit pigeon toed?

  • @tkuhns500 slightly when he squats.

  • sweet rip in the your sweats!...kidding, you guys are awesome, and amazing lift, rob.

  • the journey music adds 10 kilos

  • Is the Average Broz's training method Squat, C&J and Snatch everyday x2? Is there a system? Anywhere I can get more info or can you tell me the basic program? Whatever is goin on it's working........working very well !

  • crazy squat, and textbook form. i'm sure it takes so much training to lift with perfect form while using heavy weights

  • what do you expect Rob to lift at nationals?

  • @JNorthKilla94 a barbell loaded with weights. lol.

  • @BROZKNOWS hahahaha as much as me? we shall see.....

  • @JNorthKilla94 I hope your 2nd attempts are are American Records. ;)

  • @BROZKNOWS thats what im talking about! There better be a live stream and I better not have to be working when he takes the platform. I may take my laptop to the gym with me

  • Broz, how do you define low bar and high bar?

  • @acon120 High is above rear delts, where you can stand fully erect without the bar sliding down your back. Low is anything lower. With this position you must have a slight lean forward the entire time.

  • Are we going to see any of pat mendes any time soon?

  • @TeamRussianSambo hopefully. Things are improving again.

  • @BROZKNOWS improving? what happened to him?

  • @TeamRussianSambo last year he had a few injuries, but finally he is coming out of it. This year is promising to be much better than last.

  • Broz, what is your method for having lifters cut weight before a meet without sacrificing strength?

  • Do you encourage your athletes to try and maintain an arch in their lower back throughout the squat? Is that a natural consequence of another cue they follow? Or, not really important to think about? Thanks.

  • Broz, you say this is his max, but it looked pretty easy for him, as is the case with most of the lifts you post. Is there some sort of a time limit for him to get up in to be considered a true max? Except for Pat's 800lb squat, I have never seen any of your lifters take more than a few seconds to complete a max squat.

  • Now we want a C&J video!

  • is that low bar?

  • @zbecker6 no

  • Do your athletes high-bar or low-bar squat? Or both?

  • @NoxDies only high

  • He's back. Good work to him for that

  • Do your guys back off every fourth week or so or just max out 365? Also, would you recommend the Bulgarian method for a non-competitor who has a stable job and can't get 13 workouts a week in? Been using conjugate/westside method (powerlifting) but was thinking about maxing out everyday.

  • thats unreal. i watch all of your videos, and am accepting a witty remark making me seem like a dumbass(like you usually do), but for a track athlete trying to improve his squat, how many reps/sets would you recommend if im able to squat twice a week?

  • @whiteflightbrotha lol. I try and answer legit unique questions, ignorant statements either get deleted or blasted. For you: I would start by doing 3-5 sets, of triples. eventually working my way to 10-12 sets of 3. pay special attention to the speed of the reps. faster is better.

  • what a beast! btw, can we have a view from the side on next videos?

  • Is it possible for Rob to lose 2kg of weight so he can compete in the 94kg class?

  • @ltdshred1 very easily

  • @BROZKNOWS how? cut the carbs out of the diet?

  • The crossfit games comment absolutely blew my mind......

    EDUCATE YOURSELF desembodic.

You're a nicer person than me, Broz, for answering that question. Jesus.

  • Do you worry about his knees wobbling inward on his squat? Or is that unimportant in form in your opinion?

  • @illegitimate0 it's not a usual occurrence, just for this max so I'm not concerned.

  • @BROZKNOWS Hi ! first of all, thanks for the impressive videos, absolutely love them. I have exactly this problem (knees wobbling inwards when going up) when I squat near my max, my knees being shoulder-width apart. Should I .. put them closer together maybe ? work on my abductors ? Any helpful idea ? Thanks in advance if you answer, and keep those videos coming !

  • @666pussy need to see a vid

  • @desembodic rob couldnt qualify for the games........would get gassed in 10 seconds

  • @snatch225 with his background of football practice, in the las vegas desert heat, with full gear, for hours a day - I doubt it.

  • @BROZKNOWS LOL is he talking about the crossfat GAYmes?

  • @BROZKNOWS typical crossfiter response! With such superior training (cough cough) i wonder why he's watching the BROZ channel! also heres a funny crossfit video (watch to the end) /watch?v=GLoKBmPQzDo&feature=results_main&playnext=1&list=PL7378D9E47D1CF571

  • @snatch225 what are you talking about?

  • SOLID!

  • oh my goodness

  • MANIMAL.

  • Anything is possible with Journey playing in the background...

  • @Daywalker78 including suicide.

  • @BROZKNOWS Hey, how long will it take my body to adapt to heavy squatting 7 days/week??

  • @KrennRaphael everyone is different. can be 3 weeks, could be 3 years. depends on how you go about the progression.

  • Do any of the local CrossFit "firebreathers" ever walk up to him and say "ok, but what's your Fran time?" haha.

  • It would be awesome for Rob to walk into a Bally's or some other general health club and start knocking out reps like this. It would inspire a lot of people.

  • Hey broz, in alot of interviews i read with world class lifters they mention that they have back/front squat a certain weight but don't go so heavy often because they don't feel it will benefit getting any stronger in the squat. do you feel like there is every a point where continuing to improve your squat numbers will have no effect on the lifts?

  • @mmamilano There is a point when it will become LESS important, but it will always remain a staple in training.

  • Future olympic medalist....screw that, future olympic gold medalist....Show some support for our American weightlifters representing our country

  • amazing since you share the room with crossfiters any temptation to have him try some crossfit and try to qualify for the crossfit games? Also can't wait for some big lifts out of pat soon also.

  • @desembodic hahahahahahahahahahaha. ummm... no.

  • @desembodic Why would he waste his time with Crossfit?

  • Can someone please tell me how to buy some Ironwork III's? I've been searching everywhere for them. And no, Adidas.com does not have them.

  • so does this put him ahead in the 3x bw competition

  • @bigbudha2100 for now, but it's heating up quickly!

  • He's gonna hit 3x BW real quick.

  • Are Jacobi and Rob having a race to 3x bdwt?

  • @hildenbrandt21 jacobi, josh, rob, jared. it's still anyones ballgame.

  • @BROZKNOWS what about pat? after seeing the 363@130 video, could he get to 375@125 or 381@127?

  • @hildenbrandt21 he's returning from a hip injury. By the time he is 100%, someone else will already do it.

  • its about damn time

  • If he stays the same weight he's got 33lbs to go. So close!

  • He just squatted my exact life time goal. And he´s just 21!

  • awesomeness

  • Aren't his knees buckling in too much?

  • @maxiflo a bit, but max is max

  • Holy shit. I wish I'd live in Vegas man…

  • I remember you saying his Snatch w/ straps is 10kg above w/o- and that you are working to narrow that gap. Can you give me any specifics or insight as to how you are going to go about that?

  • @JNFreije snatch without straps

  • @BROZKNOWS good call. That kind of genius is why you get paid the big bucks lol

  • Any clean video coming soon ?

  • @qwertyfelix soon

  • Wow thats awesome. Was that his first attempt at 600?

  • @ss4vegeta1 no

  • Good to see Rob is getting back near 3x BW on his squat. He'll surely get it soon

  • +100~ lbs. in 3 months, lol, almost back to where he was. But! An effortless 170kg snatch now! what!? I was wondering if you could explain the difference in benefits and between squatting with a narrow grip and wide grip (more mirroring the snatch grip).

  • Incredible! Any thoughts on a new website/blog coming for you????

  • BEAST! lol at the hole in his pants.

  • How tall is Rob please?

  • @trinity9011 5-8

  • @BROZKNOWS thanks

  • His balls are so big you had to cut a hole in his trousers.

  • With that music in the background i knew he had it xD

  • @Rockstar22ize I'm really not a fan, but it's one of the few drawbacks of sharing space

  • Is it me, or is he not going as deep as he used to in some of his older videos of him squatting (where his knees hyperflexed and he really got down in the hole)?

If so, is this because of the knee?

  • @Sully1111 yes. his FS is normal.

  • i thought i saw a video of him doing 628ish. dude is a beassst

  • @Brianap21 before knee surgery last year

  • Slow negative.... that's not even close to his max power output and he he did that so easy ....

  • My god... he's going to do it... 3x BW.

  • @Sully1111 3x BW clean jerk? I sure hope so

  • Fuck

  • With ease. Fantastic.

  • 3x bodyweight in a few months? I think/hope so.

Also thanks for these videos John - they gave me enough inspiration to hit 2 new PRs today.

  • this is the first time i've ever seen a weight look hard for rob...

  • His classic lifts are much higher now in proportion to his squat, compared to pre-injury. Is this due primarily to dropping football, do you think?

  • @holyinstantrice no. skill has improved.

  • This the first time I've ever seen him struggle with a rep AND IT WAS FUCKING 600 POUNDS. 3x BW in a matter of time.

  • holy crap Rob is getting damn strong

  • Not far off triple bodyweight

  • 294kg for 3xBW?

  • @FTWSquat 288kg

  • Is he doing the somewhat slower negative on purpose?

  • @ev1bl still protecting the knee a bit.

  • he made a sound! i heard it!

  • Excellent!

  • Awesome! I always enjoy seeing Rob squat.

  • Amazing
