  • dude. epic.

  • Its nothing compaired to the raves I DJed at

  • It's weak if it's school-sponsored.

  • Dont worry if you missed it last year, cause its gonna be even bigger this year! With yours truly wreckin the decks!

  • how did i not know about this! i'm super bummed! i think i even saw that sign "expecting large crowd" and didnt think twice. dang it!

  • whoop

  • i love how prof stone is sitting there reading his paper and BAM rave!

  • Comment removed

  • Hell yeah... gig em aggs!

  • hahahaha this was awesome

  • Wohoo go aggies!!!

  • THIS IS SO EPIC

    2:26-2:40 .... amazing

  • traditions and disrespect aside, folks, i'm studying hardcore for exams and for those moments when i feel like i just can't go on anymore? i watch this video and it makes me super happy. keeps me going and makes me proud to be an aggie. if something makes you proud of your school it doesn't matter what it is, okay. if we want to talk about disrespect i'm gonna have to point a backtrack finger at the obama egg rally. that's beside the point, woo! i'm so tired.

  • Tons MORE people use it for illegal purposes. Tell me, how is trading pirated music not unethical?

Something being illegal does not make it unethical, but it is not unreasonable to argue that participating in that something unethical due to the breaking of the law. Read Plato.

  • this is awesome! i wish i had heard about it though..

  • this is one of the coolest things our student body has done. for a moment it almost made me think that i don't go to a school with a bunch of ignorant rednecks.. but then i read through some of the posts and realized that i still do hahaha

  • Haha @ this

    I feel the SAME way

  • This is our army, and we WILL do what we want.

  • Save your traditions and rants for someone who cares.

  • What makes it not?

  • i didn't see any of them wearing a hat.

  • Hahahah i would love this to happen at my freaking school XD

  • i was not there, but maybe some people did take some stuff before this. did they get caught? seriously, is there anything you can do about it now?

  • LOL hell yeah..i've never seen the flag room that pumped! WHOOP!

  • Obvious uptight, trollish asshole who probably could benefit from experimenting with drugs. Or playing with loaded guns.

  • wooo flash mob!

    BEST IDEA EVER.

who is fist pumpy guy in the gray shirt? sweet moves :D

  • this is bad bull in my opinion. to each his own i suppose!

  • Awesome vid!

  • And as to your "unprotected sex" claim...I can't say whether this is true or not, but what relevance does that have on the situation? Go to Northgate on a Thursday night and I'm sure you'll see plenty of people who will do the same thing that night, what are you going to do? Its not your place to condemn people for making a decision that is theirs to make. There is nothing illegal about that or even unethical. Just because you wouldn't do it doesn't give you the right to judge others.

  • Obvious Troll is Obvious

  • I don't even know what you mean by that. Do I look like I am under a bridge? Or is this some kind of nerdy World of Warcraft thing?

  • Firebert, you really are an idiot. You like to throw out these completely unfounded accusations and stereotypes, with absolutely nothing to back them up. "...there's absolutely no way you can prove that everyone didn't take drugs." No shit, but there is also no way that you can prove that ANYONE DID. I'm not going to say that absolutely noone did, but those people would be doing that anyway. Like everyone else has said, its highly doubtful someone is goign to take E for a 10 minute rave.

  • I doubt people did much ecstasy in a 10 minute rave.

  • omg 2:27 is that Stone?! HAHA great vid! Great sendoff to the MSC! :)

  • Saying someone who listens to techno does ecstasy is about as ignorant as saying someone who listens to country music has sex with cows.

People who judge others by their taste in music need to grow up. We are all different. Embrace it. There's already enough intolerance and bigotry in this world. What's wrong with appreciating a genre of music that's easy to dance to?

Firebert, unless you've got something intelligent to add to this comment board, I'd refrain from any further posts. Thanks.

  • OMG thank you finally someone agrees with me :D

  • You are naive...

Most of the people that participated in this were not ravers. They were just college kids that wanted to do something fun.

Also, throwing all people that listen to electronic music into a stereotype is ridiculous. Have you ever thought that maybe people just enjoy dancing around and having fun without drugs?

Another thing, I have to point out that most of the people angry about this are self-righteous students who really need to lighten up and enjoy their lives a bit more.

  • All of the people who did it (a lot more than you probably realize) either did it early or were using it for the unprotected sex afterward.

How unfortunate that people are choosing to be ignorant on this subject and encouraging the disgrace of our beloved MSC.

  • And your support for these claims is.....?

  • videos hosted on DC++, go look for them

  • So, you are telling me that people recorded themselves using illegal substances, and then made those videos widely available? People who use drugs are generally more cautious than that.

I cannot get on DC++ since I live off campus and don't feel like fiddling with VPN's. Perhaps you would be so kind as to upload said video? But, wait, why would someone as ethically superior as yourself have such a program?

Honestly, I'm beginning to suspect the presence of a troll...

  • *shrug* I'm not the one who made it available. Generally people on drugs are not very bright.

I am not on campus right now either. I will not upload it either because I know a few of the people involved and it would not be good for me to get them kicked out of school, for my sake. Common sense, man.

There's nothing unethical about using DC++. I use it only to allow others to download my acapella songs. Nothing illegal or unethical about that.

Not a troll, just a good human being.

  • "I'm not the one who made it available" Irrelevant

"Generally people on drugs are not very bright." Support for this claim? (And "I think drugs are stupid" doesn't count)

"I will not upload it either because I know a few of the people involved and it would not be good for me to get them kicked out of school, for my sake" You say that you have evidence, but that you cannot reveal said evidence for some reason. Since you cannot produce the evidence, you do not, in fact, have any evidence.

  • Furthermore, it makes more sense for people to not have done E than to have done E. The effects of E last up to eight hours. It would be a waste to take E and enjoy a semi-rave for 10 minutes, then have to pretend to be a normal college student for the remainder of the trip.

"There's nothing unethical about using DC++. I use it only to allow others to download my acapella songs. Nothing illegal or unethical about that." Of course.

  • Haha, funny how you are making excuses for people. Nah, like I said people were having unprotected sex afterward. I guess you missed that part, or you can't read.

Tons of people use P2P for legal purposes, but if you're talking about trading mp3's of popular music, even calling that unethical is a bit idiotic. Many people feel that it should be just as legal as listening to the radio. Just because something is illegal doesn't make it unethical. Try using words you actually know the meaning of.

  • Where did I make an excuse? Excuses justify, or attempt to justify actions. I have not attempted to justify the use of drugs. I have said that no one did drugs. These are different things. Logic; it works.

You have yet to give one shred of evidence to the claim that people were having unprotected sex afterward. You are going to point me to this supposed video, although you are going to do so without giving me any information about it, therefore making it nearly impossible to find.

  • Finally, I also have a video, although mine proves that no one at this event had taken any drugs. However, I cannot post this video.

  • Stupid point, because there's absolutely no way you can prove that everyone didn't take drugs. Furthermore, never said I have the video, just said I wouldn't post it if I did. You can find it yourself if you wish. Not my problem if you CHOOSE to remain ignorant.

  • You are fucking retarded. No one is going to take E for a 12 minute rave, in the middle of the day on a Thursday. You are lying, no one told you there were drugs there, and if they did, THEY were lying. Quit with the stereotypes and learn to think for yourself. It's people like you who make A&M look bad to the rest of the country, its people like you who the majority of campus are trying to get away from.

  • You couldn't be more wrong

I don't know of a single person who took any drug at 12:15 before they raved for 10 minutes

This was just a bunch of Aggies getting together before finals, to send off the MSC

I personally don't like techno, but still went and had a great time. People like YOU that make stupid accusations are the people that make A&M look bad.

  • you don't have very many friends do you?

  • there is me crowd surfing at 5:38! WHOOP!

  • Kinda sucks that Basshunter's newest stuff has seemingly lost its momentum. It's too Americanized now. :[

  • I KNOW! The fact that he felt he had to redo DotA to make it more appealing to little teeny boppers is beyond me.

  • Shut up.

seriously. people like you have to try & ruin everything for everyone.

This was not a sign of disrespect at all. if you actually watch the whole thing, or attended the rave like a lot of PROUD aggies, you would know that we did the war hymn & afterwards were chanting MSC. It was out of love for the many memories & services the MSC has provided, this was our way of saying goodbye. A great way for saying goodbye. GOOD JOB EVERYONE WHO ACTUALLY HAD AGGIE SPIRIT THAT DAY! thanks & gig em!

  • Well put, jenkins. +1

  • bahaha. you are sooo cool.

  • Last weekend I went to Ring Dance, we danced all over the MSC in several rooms including the flag room. We also sang the war hymn and had yell practice.

Try being a little less pessimistic, it might help you out later in life.

  • Kick ass job who ever made this haha i found myself crowd surfing at 1:44

  • AWSOME

  • Awesome job :) The perfect way to send off the MSC! I've never seen seen so many smiles and felt so much energy from so many aggies before, I'm so glad I got to be a part of this

  • AWESOME VID we should so do this again!! and to the naysayers STFU, this is what aggie spirit is all about coming together as one voice, and in this case it was to awesome music genre, A genre that college station needs more of. :P

  • For your information I dont do drugs and you are an idiot for thinking that everyone in college station does ecstasy and dresses like that. You are ignorant

  • i like techno and i dont take ecstasy u effing retard!!! Not everyone who likes techno does ecstasy quit making ridiculous assumptions

  • thats just a common stereotype, I like the music because i enjoy listening to it and dancing to it, just like any other genre,

IF this is your logic then you are ignorant

  • Do you think anyone was actually on ecstasy? Its just a bunch of people blowin off some steam. Seems like you should consider finding some sort of stress relief too.

  • i dont think so im glad we did it was well worth it :P

  • swine flu for sure

  • LOL! Yeah after the rave ended it it occurred to me that I might have just infected a large chunk of A&M with swine flu.

  • In case any one was wondering this is the play list:

    Basscreator-Basshunter

    Fasten You Seatbelts- Pendulum

    Russia Privjet- Basshunter

    Satisfaction-Benny Benassi

    Around World/Harder Faster- Daft Punk

    War Hymn

  • I am still very impressed about how the student body came together to celebrate the life of the MSC and welcome to the future in such a positive way! Just looking at how happy each and every one of the aggies in this video is really shows how beloved the MSC is to the student body and how much this "Living Room" of campus will be missed! I'm so glad we have a group at A&M that wants to celebrate both life and the past!

    Thanks and Gig 'Em!

  • Awesome Video. This Was an Amazing experience, and an amazing way to send off the msc.
