Inexcusable, but, I had this great song mixed-up with Duncan Sheik's "Barely Breathing" for about a week during the era when both songs were debuting. Both're sentimental favorites and recall a seemingly simpler time.
90s music. REAL music. Tired of music about sex, drugs, alcohol. Idk how the music even gets recognized. The only thing that keeps that music alive is the beats that go with the song.
Obama has raised Americas national debt from 8trillion to 16 trillion thats more than any 15 presidents combined,he has hobbled America finacially for100 years if not forever, zero on job creatio, unemployment is right where it was when he got in,Alqaeda is taking over iraq,he passed on all that oil from canada, which also would have created 100000 jobs and gas prices are up 83% since he got in.Get another dem or anyone else but save whats left and vote him out
It took forever for me to find this song! I only remembered the 'Cinderella' part and I want my dad and me to dance to it at my wedding. Then I finally heard it on the radio at work!
Man i remember when these guys toured around 1997-98 and they put on a show near my neck of the woods and it was my first concert and I was 7 yrs old.
@TheMacetheace You lucky dog, you! What a fantastic introduction to live music! My first real concert was James Taylor back around '71 or '72. I was a "lucky dog" too! Long live the Music; and the Beautiful People who make it!
@liligman Wait'll you dig back into some of the REALLY good old stuff! One of my favorite songs was written 60 or 70 years before I was ever born! Check out "Big Bad Bill (is Sweet William now) from Ry Cooders' "Jazz" CD. The song was written late 1880s or 1890s. The CD came out around 1990, I think. Great stuff! I'm a musician/song-writer myself, so.....yeah. I DO have good taste! Took me weeks or months to learn how to play it, all on my own & by ear. But now no one can take it away from me.
@ac120479 A lot of the music from the 90s is the reason music of today is the way it is.
Before Coldplay= The WallFlowers, Oasis, REM
Before Danity Kane= TLC, En Vogue
Before Nicki Minaj= Missy Elliot
Before GaGa= Bjork, Alanis Morisette
No one can say creativity is particular to a person. The 90s was about emotion and the videos showing that emotion hence it made sense. Today it's creativity first and then emotion, thus it's just vapid.
Reminiscing about the 90's makes me feel so old. They were over a decade ago...A DECADE! THE FIRST DECADE OF THE NEW MILLENNIUM IS OVER!!!! I remember watching the ball drop to make it the new millennium, and that was over a decade ago. Depressing... quite depressing
@Swingking9 true words man. I miss those days, we had music from all types of genres that were classics. Today's music is hot one day, then you forget all about them the next day. In the 90's, we had music that still bring fond memories of the times we were young. This song always makes me think about my dad dropping be off at my mothers after their divorce. This song came on the radio and we would both sing along and I always considered this one our song.
@Swingking9 You aren't the only one. I have sharp memories of playing Fastball and the Wallflowers while driving to the beach. Then celebrating New Years Eve 2000. Now its a faceless decade where nobody knows what the hell is coming or going.
96-98 had awesome music... Can't say how much decent, un-fad music came out that year. Just great quality, great musical innovation. Like a mini-late 60s.
oh my god everytime i see a music video for an older song the top comments always someone whining about the mainstream music i think people get it you can stop talking about it now

I agree, the 90's were the golden years of rock and all of its sub-genres. Today's music is such a shame that I would rather take a bullet to the head than to tune my radio into one of the so called new stations. :( life is sad these days, without good music....
@barzasc Well there bringing new shit in now... I like Dubstep, it's kinda amazing... But depends if you like Techno-ish songs... But this is an amazing song however
The 90s are over, get over it. Good music like this is still being made today. Shitty music thats being made today, was also made back in the 90s. Remember that song where that guy rapping about if shanekwa's there? hell no, she moved out last year. Yeah, that song was pretty fucking bad. The 90s isnt immune to shitty music, so stop pretending like they're the golden years.

This song reminds me of my cousin... He was 14 and he had a tumor the size of a golfball on his brain. He sang this song a year exactly before he died at a family reunion... God bless him...
@wilmcmillan I hope the 90's repeat themselves again soon. I am sick of ghetto ass and titties songs. When hit singles had actual albums to listen to. When the albums were just as good as the singles themselves once you listened to them a few times. Man...the 90's what a decade

ONE HEADLIGHT..IN LIFE, TO MOVE FORWARD..THATS WHAT IM TRYING TO DEAL WITH NOW, AFTER THE LAST YR OR SO AND LOSS OF WHO I THOUGHT I COULD HAVE SPENT THE REST OF MY LIFE WITH..BUT ITS EASIER SAID THAN DONE....
SO THAT HEADLIGHT IS SEEING RIGHT AHEAD FOR ME, MY OWN LIFE, MY NEXT PARTNER AND WHATEVER GOOD COULD HAPPEN TO ME..ITS ABOUT ....KING TIME....SO HAVE TO PUT THE LIGHTS ON BRIGHT AND MOVE ON AND HOPE FOR THE BEST IN LIFE...
I had this in my head yesterday. Sorta a quirky reflection of state of mind, maybe. Then tonight, someone sang it karaoke (and decently, even) while it was out. So yeah. I just took it as a sign and gave in.
Funny thing is, when it came out, it didn't mean a lot (if anything) to me. Too young I guess.
This song can be powerful enough to bring tears to one's eyes. This is a very subtle and beautiful song. It is perfect, telling a story about the loss of a loved one. A very, very lovely song indeed.
...people can say it all they want about how 90s music like this sounds " oh so bland," but the thing about this era for me what that it was all about the lyrics. The lyrics of this song are meaningful to me - unlike the shit that Lady Gaga sings about...=/
why was i born in the wrong generation? sucks that i wasn't even a year old when this song was released.

@jaguarandi2 Dude, that's exactly how I feel. I dunno, it just feels like... The past or something. It's super nostalgic.
