Only 9 273 views. I must have watched this 9000 times myself. What an incredible song and musician. Townes was the greatest artist to walk this earth.
Can anyone help me to find an accurate transcription to this? I'm an amateur musician and Rex's Blues is my favouite Townes song. It's been haunting me since I saw a short clip of Townes performing it on the "Be Here to Love Me" doc. God, I thought John Lennon was great until I discovered Townes. Now there's no turning back...
Straightforward and deep. Love it.

When he sings:
"I'm bound to leave this dark behind" on the Live at the Old Quarter
LP you can hear him humming. It struck me that the whole song was
as if a parent were singing to a child, and I would imagine that's the tenderness
he felt towards Rex coming through.

@coyotehawk4 Its amazing how 30 seconds of a song can grab your attention so much that you have to spend the time to find it.

Sounds like "Harlem River Blues" was inspired by this tune at the "tell my..." parts.

A lot of versions of this song, and this one is my favorite. The two guitars are killer. Dig the photos of Townes, he was so damn good!!
