in the first algorithm, i think you get the U wrong, cos you do a U', but you say U, and it says U on the screen, so im not sure :S

I just got my first sub-30 solve. i still use the 2 look OLL and 2-look PLL, so that's about as fast as I can get. There are so many different variations and different ways to go about F2L, I'm still doin the intuitive method, but these trips really help.

You do F2L the exact same as me too. On that second case, when the edge is flipped the other way, with your corner on top again, try U2 then L' U' L and it automatically pairs up.

My responce to you: It was his defence mechanism, and I think he takes offence to that LOL jk but seriously, it is normally a UK convention, kind of like "zed" for z, not all people do it but it's more prevalent there. It annoyed me too LOL Just like how the annotations were U, R', U', but was said "U, R i, U i," :-P Other than that nice tutorial for beginner F2L tricks, some are pretty nice :-)

Yo whats up its been awile =)...hope you been good, but when you want to be faster and less locks with your fingers getting in the way witch is what is happening with you haah just use more finger tips and a lighter/ not soo tight grip...=)

There are no tricks. All the things are the basic F2L algs. If you know Full F2L then you don't get anything out of here. And there are few faster cases I think.

You know whats weird? Everything you said is exactly what I would have done. I have been looking around for f2l videos but most the extremely fast guys make tutorials that are way to advanced. theWestonian is good though

Case #2: it's much easier if you have an empty slot, because you can keyhole it in.

In my opinion keyhole tricks only work if the are in the back of the cube, otherwise you'll need to do a cube rotaion. Doing it this way or from the right side is a really ease 2gen alg...

Well, it becomes 5-6 moves depending on a couple different thing and stays 2-gen. So I think it's faster. I also enjoy performing that algorithm.

I understand the concept. But these are just F2L algs. A trick is something like this:

Setup (Green front yellow top, ((assuming white is your cross color)) ) - R U R' U2 R U2 R' U2 F' U' F U'

Now solve the green-orange pair. It's an ugly case, but using this alg : M U (r U' r' ) U' M'

it's kind of nice. I can sub 1.5 it anyway. Those are the kind of things I want to see. Short cuts, not the basic case algs.

I understand what you mean, and for those cases, a chain isn't really required because you can find all the normal algs on websites like learn2cube (you know what comes after the dot) so tricks should be things that will make those cases faster. I've just begun to learn some, so this is intriguing for me as well, but I really don't want this good idea to deteriorate into people listing how to solve basic cases. I'll make a video as soon as I get some time.
