Can you take any pet pigeon out to fly? I mean, breed doesn't matter, right? And if I raised a pigeon from a chick and then took it out to fly it, would it ALWAYS return (would I have to train it when to return?)
Why would anyone feed their pet(s) to another animal. Would you feed your hawk to a pitbull or let hunters shoot your hawk? Anyway, if you would like a bet, I would take you up for it. I bet that your red tail can not catch my pigeons in the air? The only birds a red tail is able to catch are baby birds, especially sick birds, and mostly rats and mice.
@petrollers you would be suprised i have it hunting rabbits some squarrels and a few flying pigeons its hard for her to chatch a pigeon but only by suprise
@petrollers oh im sorry i didnt mean to refer to your birds like that its just hey are flying rats so like you said here "mostly rats and mice" you bird which really shouldnt be considered one is a flying rat so why not give my bird a challenge against the oh so amazing flying shit with wings
Oh ok. So, if you get them as squeakers, and hand raise them, to them, you are there daddy? Ok. So what does the whistle mean come? I was thinking once they can start to flykinda throw them up a little above your arm and when they land whistle?? And gradually work further and further away so they associate the whislte as "come"
im looking to hand raise a couple of pigeons, have you got any advice for a complete beginner? where do i start? thanks

@Holyworms Why do you think it's a rat? you think they spread disease? They do not spread disease that is a fact.

Great Videos, I enjoy them verymuch. Is there a reason that you use so many fancy breeds of pigeons than regular homers? Are they smarter?

Interesting.

They all come back to my hand or sometimes on the ground but never home. Even my homers come back to me and not home.
petrollers 2 years ago
Do they come back to your hand or do they fly directly home?

How do you train them?!?!?!?!

If you hand raise your pigeons, they should be very tame..
